I wanted to love it...but I didn't. Orzo WAY overcooked-almost mushy. Salmon was delicious. Wrong wine, but we drank it anyway. Big gripe here is it is WAY overpriced. Like, more expensive than Ricks which has nice steaks and chops. They need to rethink their prices. Soon.
We started with cocktails at the bar. Amazing dirty martini, kudos to Billy! The Old Fashioned was perfect. The recommendation of the crab cakes was spot on. My wife had the salmon and I had the duck. Both were perfection. Great service by Tyler. We will definitely be back.
The food was amazing and it has a great atmosphere. Unfortunately we had several issues with out waiter. Took half our drink order and left. Arrived with one drink. Disappeared again. Ended up waiting over 20 minutes for wine to arrive. Entrees arrived all at different times. Forgot one entree. Just...not good.
I took my girlfriend to dinner for our anniversary. Eclair is perfect for a quiet, romantic dinner and the food is outstanding. Perhaps the best filet I have ever had and I have had some good ones. The wait staff was friendly prompt and took time to explain the menu. We did not drink wine; however, there was a good selection. Eclair staff provided a complementary champagne toast for our anniversary and their beer selection, while not extensive, contains several very good options. Eclair is not an inexpensive dinner; however, the quality of the food and the service still makes it a good value in my opinion. I will definitely return.
This is the second time we have been to this restaurant and it was as good as the first time...excellent!
Our server was Tyler and he was very nice, attentive and informative on the evenings selections.
My wife had the fillet Oscar and I had the fillet/short-rib combo and both were cooked as ordered, and
delicious. My wife couldn't eat all of her meal and Tyler prepared the remainder of her steak for us to take home and she had it the next day, and said it was still delicious. My wife needs to be gluten free and Tyler talked with the chef and they easily accommodated her specific needs.
We will be returning soon and bringing guests from out of the area to sample some fine dining in McKinney.
Fantastic...it was a lovely evening, the food was amazing!!!Have to be back...Lovely music
It was our 13 year anniversary. Started off going upstairs and having A cocktail and the crabcakes which was Beautiful, lovely atmosphere . Especially the entertaining bartender Billie, which made the experience five star.
Proceeded with dinner downstairs, our waiter Jackson was on spot, made our dinner a wonderful experience.
Jackson included a complementary pineapple bread pudding which hit the spot. Can’t say enough about what a wonderful evening we had at Eclair Bistro.
We spend a lot of time in downtown McKinney, But had not been to this restaurant and I have to say it’s a great find.
They had a live jazz band playing upstairs. And fortunately we had other plans. Definitely will be back.
The food was very good, Tyler our server did a great job pacing the meal, great food great service, will be back
Great meal. Tyler was our server and he was awesome. Best filet and rack of lamb ever.
Decor, ambience & service were all exceptional. Food was good but not outstanding - it was served warm but should have been hot . Bruschetta appetizer was prepared well and was quite tasty. Smoked salmon was slightly undercooked. For the price, we were expecting more.
Excellent Father's Day experience. Really special
The food is delicious, especially the grilled salmon smoked over an apple wood accompanied with vegetables cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is very romantic and cozy and the service is very good. Also, after a great meal, you can go upstairs and listen to a jazz band and relax after a delicious meal.
The service was a little slow. We had to wait over 20 minutes for a cocktail in the restaurant. Other than this it was a great evening. Staff is friendly, food was excellent, and the live music was a great.
My husband and I ate at the Eclair Bistro for the first time last weekend. We had a reservation for 6:30pm on a Saturday and it was not very busy when we were seated. Our server, Bryant, was soft spoken, kindly, gracious, and knew the menu well. We thought he was awesome! Our meal started with salads. I ordered the poached pear w/ raspberry vinagrette and my husband got a side salad with ranch. Both were very eatable. Then we were served crab cakes. The presentation was gorgeous and the cakes were even tastier than they looked. Then the entree was served. A perfectly grilled medium rare and seasoned Steak Oscar, was served on a beautiful plate of delectable asparagus and lightly boiled fingerling potatoes. Again, the seasoning on everything was spot on. Up until this point, the food improved with each subsequent dish. The steak was a masterful finale. I cannot recommend the desserts(Bryant tried to steer us to others than what we ultimately chose.), the flourless chocolate cake was blah and my husband's creme brûlée, while delicious-tasting, was far too runny to be considered creme brûlée...it was more of a creme anglaise. Lesson learned : Listen to the server's advice on what to order! The atmosphere was fine. The unisex bathroom was a bit gross. (I really prefer not sharing a toilet with a man because I hate the evidence men tend to leave. No offense men, but some of you are just foul.)To sum: We will eat there again.
Fabulous service and food! thank you! It was a real joy!
The food was amazing I ordered the Duck Breasts.. wow 😊
This restaurant is outstandingl. It has a combination of factors that make it such a pleasant place to gather with friends or for just a quiet dinner for 2 . The food is great, and presented
beautifully, by a waiter who is courteous, gracious and knowledgable.
McKinney is so lucky to have a special place where one can go for a rare and special occasion.
The dishes we ordered varied. From crab cakes, rack of lamb, salmon and gnocchi, each was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. We will go there anytime in the future when we can.
This is our favorite McKinney restaurant. The food is consistently amazing! Have never had anything we didn’t love. Save room for dessert because they are worth the splurge. Had the Salmon and the Duck this visit. Cooked perfectly. Crab Cakes and Cheesecake also perfect.
Super good food, and nice atmosphere. Our waiter was professional and top-notch.
Will return. Staff provided outstanding service and the food was great!
The ambience was very romantic. The food is made from scratch and absolutely delicious. Jackson was our waiter and he was awesome! He was very attentive and helped us with our food choice and wine choice.
Food was great. Rack of Lamb, steak, risotto all excellent. Worked with us to avoid dairy (allergy). Service was spot on. There is a little noise from from the bar upstairs but it was minimal and didn’t bother us at all. Menu had more options that the one posted online. Locally owned and operated.
Lamb chops were excellent. Chicken dish with fried capers was a pleasant surprise Escargot was disappointing. Filet was great. Cross isn’t had too much butter.
This was our second time at Eclair Bistro and again the service was excellent. We loved the crab cakes and the fillet Oscar.
We were a little disappointed with the tomato soup. It was good but nothing special. They have such good food that we were expecting something out of the ordinary.
We like the place and we will be back!
Great food and service. It's a hidden gem in McKinney.
We LOVED our visit! It was our first visit but it definitely will not be our last. Perfect amount of service and attention. We had the crab cake appetizer which was superb. The grilled shrimp and risotta entre as well as the smoked salmon were superb. This is the first true fine dining restaurant we have found in McKinney. I have tried Ricks which is nice but not this level of quality. Next we will try Gregory's Bistro which also has great reviews!
Was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful ambience. Lengthy wine list. Our server was attentive (we could have lingered longer over each course). Being my date's birthday, we were offered champagne to celebrate. One of the specialty cocktails she ordered was not to her liking and it was graciously replaced-a nice touch. Food and desert were very good. would like to come back with a larger group to experience their "3D Dinner" where pictures of your food are projected on your table when you are served.
Entree was great but to me the sides lacked a little extra. On a Keto diet so had the vegetables but would have loved to see maybe fresh parm cheese or something besides just plain veggies. Don't get me wrong I would go back but to me a little something extra would be nice. I understand the live music upstairs is great but we there too early to run to another event. Again staff and food was really good. Steaks cooked to perfection!
We will definitely be returning.
Great place! We've been several times the past few months. Have always had a great experience.
Reservations for Mothers Day. We were 1 of 4 tables when we sat down. Soup took 45 minutes! Food finally came. It was very good, but, I've had appetizers bigger than my entree. Service was good. Our waiter did all he could to make our wait tolerable. I probably will not be back except to visit the ipstairs Martini bar and enjoy the live Jazz music.
The food is great but pricey. It took over an hour before we got our food. Customer service is excellent. Free Parking is great. They have Awesome music.
Some updates should be made: 1)The carpet should be replaced with wood floors. 2)The bathrooms should be updated and modernized. 3) They should have dress code enforced (ex: no shorts). 4) chairs are not comfortable.
Was not a good experience. Secretive was not good and main course was not cooked correctly.
Server Tyler was pretentious and indifferent.
We had to wait on our before dinner drinks.
We needed to remind him about a side dish which arrived after more than half our dinner was over. Needed to remind him of a coffee too.
Will go back because food was good and anyone can have a bad day.
Excellent experience. Staff is well trained, our server Tyler was outstanding. Food was superb - we'll be back!
Second visit and Eclair Bistro does not disappoint. The service is impeccable and the food is great. It may not be for everyone based on ambiance and price, but well worth a try. Bar and live music upstairs for those who wish to partake. A great place for special occasion.
Excellent meal, but way overpriced.
The service was incredible
Great place for our 35th anniversary dinner. Cozy and elegant. Great food, service and music!!!
My husband and I really enjoyed their Sunday Brunch and look forward to returning. It also seems like a great place for dinner and a cocktail.
Our server Maggie was great and the food was outstanding. We loved the bar upstairs but the bartended needs to be more attentive to his customers and less time talking about himself.
