Echo Tap & Grille
Opened in January of 2016, the Echo Tap is a lively neighborhood bar and restaurant designed and built by friends and family.
Came here today for a brunch stop with my wife while out doing holiday shopping. Our waitress Dominique was wonderful. However, please note: the brunch menu on their website is outdated and the menu when we went in there today everything is at least a dollar more. I asked the manager if he could honor the prices on his website (since that’s what the customers see) but he said he couldn’t. He apologized for the menu not having the menu correct prices, but that was all. As a manager, he could’ve at least offered a discount on the bill or a free round, something to compensate for the misinformation. All in all, we would probably go back because the food was good and the atmosphere was pretty nice. But they need to fix that menu situation.
It was really busy and my wife and I were out on a date night. We were seated between a couple with a newborn and a party of about 12 including multiple toddlers/young children. It wasn't ideal as we could barely hear each other speak thought we were less that 3 feet apart.
Our server was very knowledgeable and accommodating . The food was very good, but my only complaint would be our entrees arrived , only a few minutes after our appetizers which was not ideal since our table was a very small table for 2. We felt a little rushed and though we wanted dessert we felt as if it would just be rushed as well so we opted to leave and go somewhere else for that.
Overall mediocre experience but good for a quick bite
Took a friend here for the first time! She loved it ! We each had a strawberry rose and we shared the Mediterranean pizza! Amazing bad always!
Spinach dip and shrimp tacos wwre excellent. Margarita on the rocks was decent but didn't taste much alcohol.
I had dinner at Echo Tap & Grill. I usually have lunch at this restaurant.the dinner and service was just as good as lunch. I will certainty go back.
We were very disappointed by our experience at Echo. I ordered what is their version of shrimp tacos. Although they did provide a good portion of shrimp (15), the taste was not great. Pretty much like sautéed shrimp instead of seared. There was a ton of rice and onions and peppers which filled up this giant bowl for no apparent reason. I also ordered a martini which they unceremoniously charged $15 for. My wife got only an appetizer - the fried calamari. They were average at best. They really need to step it up on the food quality here.
Terrible food, poor service. Very disappointing for what was meant to be a special occasion. Also they have not updated the online menu, and everything in the restaurant is more expensive.
Great place. Nice selection on the menu. A bit noisy with all the celebrations that were happening but overall would recommend Echo Tap for a night out.
Good food, good drinks. Only issue is that it can be a bit noisy at times but other than later, great place
One of our favorite places for any occasion. A bit pricey; but, we splurge every once in a while.
Came here with a couple of friends on a Friday night. We made reservations for 7 and the host at the front counter was very kind and accommodating. The atmosphere is nice and the noise level wasn’t bad. I had the special which was the Chilean sea bass. It was a little bland and dry the others had the shrimp stir fry in the pineapple. That was delicious! The drinks were horrible and expensive. My friend tried to get something the bartender could make, but gave up after the 3rd try. Fortunately the manager was super nice and actually made a drink for her himself and it was fantastic. Overall The service here is great, the vibe is nice, the food is subpar and the drinks are overpriced.
I had booked a reservation at 1130. When I got there with my client, the restaurant wasn't opened and the sign on the door said that lunch opened at 11.45.
This is a very important person to me, a former secret service man, now in his mid 70's, who spent a life protecting some of the most important people in this country.
He wanted to eat here and I was extremely disappointed that the restarurant wasn't open.
We had a very nice lunch at Echo Tap & Grill.
They brunch menu is very good on the weekend
Israel is one of the best servers we’ve ever had and we’ve been going there since it first opened. Service was top notch! Food was decent.
We had a very nice brunch at Echo Grill on Sunday. Their brunch menu is very good which is served in the weekend
We had a wonderful dinner with my friends and this was my fourth time here. Always great food and service. Waitress explained everything we asked about and even found the answer if she didn't know! Next time I will try desert. I can only imagine they are just as good!
Great dinner...food was excellent, service was great. Everyone was very attentive.
Never disappointed Turkey burger is awesome !!! My fav. Give it a try
Great staff, great food, great time!
This was our first time at Echo, and gotta say, we didn't love it. Service was fine; the ambiance is what you would expect from a tavern - a bit on the noisy side (but not unbearable). Though the menu is interesting and extensive, the food was disappointing. I had a portabello mushroom sandwich that was drowning in the lime garlic aioli (I tend to request extra since restaurants almost never put enough for my tastes... certainly didn't need any extra here!), and overall, it was a bit soggy, even though I'd asked them to hold the tomato (the "wetness" of which CAN make a sandwich soggy). The side salad (instead of fries) was adequate but ordinary. My husband took the plunge and order the "Fat Burger," which was a burger, bacon pork roll, and mozzarella luna. Turned out the mozzarella was fried - but not only that, the slices were dry and tasteless like breaded pieces of cardboard (I tasted them). He removed it. The rest (his words) was dry and tasteless and the burger, ordered medium rare, was most definitely on the well side of medium. The fries had that taste as though they had been cooked in oil that had been used a few too many times (due for a change...). We won't likely go back.
We had a wonderful lunch and great service. I also loved the salsa chips. We will certainly come back
Meal was good but don't use this place to celebrate a birthday - they come to your table with a fake dessert (reusable) and candle/sparklers - and then charge you a $1 for it. Silly and pointless.
This is our second visit, it’s a great place, good food, fun atmosphere.
Was not impressed at all with the food. The chips were so stale and I asked the waiter to get me other and they were the same.
Very cute place but food is really bad and it’s pretty expensive for what you get. Don’t know if I would ever return.
Love everything about this restaurant, menu choices, food delicious, team work..
Waiter forgot calamari. Shrimp tacos were do it yourself on tiny tortillas. Too spicey for my taste.
Lighting was not good. But everything else was wonderful!
Went on my first date and we both had a blast! Our server was amazing! Would totally recommend anyone here!
The food came in big portions for fair prices which also turned out to be very tasty. The workers there impress you from the moment you step in. Whether it be the first or fifth time you’re there. The workers, and manager, work hard to make sure everything is great. Definitely a place to recommend for any occasion. Cute individual restaurant with a variety of dishes.
The food was so good . We had good time .🍝😋💕
The food was not so good. It didn’t taste fresh. I will not go back there for dinner. Maybe for wings and beer.
I’ve been coming here consistently for a few years now. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly & the food is equally as great. Definitely recommend!
The pictures make the place look nicer than it is. It has a slightly upscale Houlihan's feel to it. The beer selection was pretty disappointing considering the options available these days. I don't recall many smaller label beers, but they plenty of the well known ones. If you like IPAs they had plenty (just not my bag). Most disappointed on this front because the online beer menu had a great selection, upon arrival this was clearly not the case. Service was above average (we had a great waitress) and the food was about average. Fried calamari and garlic shrimp were good. The Chilean sea bass special was expensive ($40) and the least enjoyable I've ever had. Had I known it I would have definitely ordered something else (at that price it should be better than average). Overall this place is nothing to get excited about. I don't live in the area (it was central to meeting friends) but if I did I would not go out of my way to eat here. I am sure there are better options.
Overall great restaurant with open comfortable ambiance. Menu was welcoming and the specials were thoughtful with each dish presentation carefully crafted. Lots of birthday celebrations the night we were there which was fun to watch and participate in. We tried 2 of the three specials, Short Rib was one of them and Halibut was the other. Perfect combination of flavor and sides that completed the main. All of the staff were helpful but I give our server (Hailey I think) an A+ for her attentiveness throughout our entire visit and excellent service. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Mountainside.
My friend and I were in the area for the weekend to attend a party and we decided to have dinner here. We each had burgers and drinks, and there was even a non-alcoholic beer option for my friend which she loved. The venue is very fun and hip, lots of natural light and wide open. The waitress was attentive and friendly. For the size of the venue it was not very loud at all, however when the birthday celebrations come by with the drums, etc., you can hear it throughout the dining room. My friend and I had to pause our conversation no matter where the drums were headed as we couldn't hear each other over the song. We thought it was all in good fun and had a great time! But if you're looking for a quiet romantic dinner this probably isn't the place.
This was my husband and I go to spot, We always brought new people in with us, because the environments was always great. Up until Sunday, we went out, with a friend. We put our order in, and 2 minutes after it was in, my friend changes her mind (mind you, the order was pasta, nothing crazy or exotic) she wanted a switch, and the waitress said no can do. we asked to speak to the manager, and the kitchen manager was very rude and told us he is sweating working hard (had nothing to do with us), and that it is not his problem that we changed our mind! soon after that, the "owner" who i highly doubt is the owner, came and shook my husbands hand, told him there is nothing he can do, and that he could not "lose the plate $$$), he left and came back with a bag with our food and said we have to pay it, he doesn't care if we eat it or not (MIND YOU at this point they don't even want us to stay, they BAGGED our food) . FIRST OFF let me start by saying in ANY restaurant you step foot in, if you are not satisfied with the service or FOOD, YOU DO NOT have to pay for every item if you are not satisfied. We gladly paid for our drinks and tipped as well, BUT i will NEVER go back! management is POOR! they do not care for the customers satisfaction, only your money. Message to the owner, re-evaluate your management! because this is SAD! if you read every bad comment on GOOGLE, they are all the same. the place itself is awesome, food is decent and good looking, environment and decor is off the walls!!! BUT BAD SERVICE AND BAD MANAGEMENT will make a good business go down real quick!
Server was great and food was really good.
Staff was friendly and professional. Food was delivered in a timely manner and it was hot. Waitress was great and made my family and I feel welcomed and comfortable. The one issue is that there was a dirty glass when we sat down at the table. That problem was easily solved.
