    I was disappointed with all the recommendations by our server. Both the Bavette and the Skirt steak were subpar, nothing speI was expecting more from a Steakhouse to celebrate a birthday.

    The website is not clear on a lot of things. The brunch menu was super small and every food item we ordered was mediocre. We also thought they had a meat market, which they do not. The steak sandwich was raw, which is weird bc they specialize in steaks.

    Great experience! Were seated on time, and greeted by the manager, who chatted nicely for a bit. Service was spot on and food was fabulous. We are self proclaimed food/ service critics with experience in restaurant work and we were both impressed. That doesn’t happen often.

    Felt like having steak and they did an outstanding job. Went for lunch, and the place was not crowded at all. People were dressed anywhere from suits to sweatpants and printed T-shirts. Restaurant was quiet, and the wet staff was attentive. Will be going back there a lot!

    It was my first time to dine here. Management came by and introduced themselves. Anthony, the waiter, provided impeccable service and recommendations. The steaks, cauliflower, bone marrow, and wine were delicious. A tasting of the mushroom soup was brought out. I liked how it elevated the mushroom, rather than it being drowned out with cream. Anthony brought out salted caramel ice cream on the house. Easily the best I’ve had. It was a wonderful experience and we shall return.

    After seeing such great reviews we decided to try Echo and Rig. Unfortunately we did not have the most pleasant experience. We had reservations and were seated right away but that was the only thing that was quick and efficient. We sat for over an hour before we got our food. Not to mention it took a very long time for us to order drinks and food. Our waiter was not attentive to us whatsoever. He seemed to play favoritism to his regulars while leaving us to fend for ourselves. We did have a busboy that helped out a lot more than our waiter did. I’m highly disappointed in my experience especially for the price that I paid. I expected top tier service and this place was a far miss. Also the food was just “okay” no wow factor. Steaks were not seasoned properly and everything came out lukewarm as if it was sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period of time. Unfortunately due to the negative experience with this waiter I don’t think I would ever return.

    Echo & Rig is at DOCO "inside" the Kimpton Sawyer hotel, but also accessible from the pedestrian walk that continues on from K Street past the Golden 1 Center. Because of this, it's worth noting when game and event times are if you want to avoid parking/traffic/crowd madness. We started with a sharable salad, and the salad dressing had a fresh herb flavor that was delightful, and the crispy chicken on top cooked was to perfection, served promptly so it was still crispy and hot. For the entrée we shared a 12 oz. ribeye (they do the butchering themselves) and found it to be tender and quite flavorful. Not quite reaching the heights of a 28-day dry-aged rib eye, but still quite good. I mentioned that it was our anniversary when being seated and the attentive staff made us feel really special. Recommend for an occasion dinner or a splurge before an event at the Golden 1 Center.

    Food is worth the price in my opinion. Better to reserve tables ahead of time, can get very busy on weekends especially with concerts. All the staff were very nice and the manager even came and introduced himself this time which was very nice. 3rd time here and will be back!!!

    The fried spinach salad and Maryland crab cake appetizer were both amazing. The steaks there are incredible, no matter which you decide to order. This is my third time dining here and it always excels in service and food quality. I will definitely return soon.

    Our food and service were excellent but there was a large group (8-10) right next to us who were very rude and loud and kept scooting their chairs in to our immediate space and swearing loudly and using very crass speech about sucking d***. Disgusting group of people. Too bad that it had to affect our experience because Echo & Rig is one of our favorite go-to spots.

    Waited in the valet parking line for 15 mins before being told I could not valet unless I was staying at the hotel. Food was mediocre, over seasoned. Steak not prepared at the correct temp and took quite some time to arrive. Staff was pleasant and attentive but unfortunately the experience overall did not justify the cost.

    The food and service was great until a comment our waiter made threw it all off. He came by and asked if we wanted dessert so he could bring the menus , we were full so we said we were good like that , and then he proceeds to say “don’t worry guys I’ll buy it for you guys “ , I found that comment offensive insinuating we can’t afford it . It would have been different if he would have said “it’s on the house “ . Im not sure if it was because we were young but I had already overheard a comment from staff saying “they have a reservation here” . I wouldn’t be eating here if I couldn’t afford it , if anything I was surprised how cheap everything was , it being a nicer type restaurant . Apart from those comments , the food and ambiance was great! Definitely recommend for the food!

    A great find for lunch and dinner. The portobello mushroom fries are to die for. The fried spinach salad fun and delicious. The berries with ice cream and shortcake so good.
