We enjoy Ecco a few times a year. The menu is a rather traditional European cuisine, which goes with the crisp white tablecloths, heavy flatware, and super-fine glassware. We often order the veal Milanese, which comes with vegetables ( typically including little broccoli florets, baby carrots, some green beans, and a sprinkling of dried cranberries) and a small nest of angel hair pasta lightly sauced with pesto. The restaurant serves fresh warm french bread rolls with artfully cut pats of butter -- they do pay attention to details but they don't offer seconds, so if you're in the habit of filling up on bread, prepare to slow down and savor one really great roll! At the end of the meal the server brings a dessert tray with many choices, all of them traditional sorts of sweets: caramel tarts, chocolate torte, baba au rhum, cheesecake, several flavors of dense cakes cut into compact rectangles (think: Viennese coffee shop) which we usually skip since I more favor fresh fruit-based desserts. Service is friendly. They make a fine martini and the wine service is professional.

Restaurant was extremely empty mid-week, looked old and somewhat uninviting. Our waiter gave the impression he wanted us to order immediately and get out even though the restaurant was empty. Food was OK, but they appear to try too hard. I would not return…
