Always a delight to dine here even under the circumstances of COVID. Still chose this to be the place where I took my best friend to celebrate her birthday.
Incredible dinning experience. The food and the service were amazing.
This was terrible! First, there was a 1 man band playing music way too loud. We are avid sushi eaters and we could not even eat the rolls that we ordered. We took 1 bite of each and we were done. It was a very strange experience. Reviews were good yet we could not stomach eating it. IT was honestly that bad, Tasted old. We politely told them that we did not like it and then brought our bill. We paid for everything and ate less than 1/4 of the meal. We will never return.
Excellent all the way around and the staff was very friendly!!!
Went on a Friday night. Scheduled an appointment the usual. seated by the hostess And had no waiter come up to us for about 10 minutes. Luckily a random waiter came up to us and asked if we have been served drinks yet. We replied saying No. so the random waiter took our drinks and went to see who was waiting our table, come to find out the hostess forgot to assign us a waiter. *Facepalm* overall the random waiter informed us about the issue and just said “I’ll take care of you guys tonight.” The food was good, social distancing was good as well. The waiter messed up on our order but apologized and gave us a $10 coupon for our next visit. Overall it’s a nice quiet place to have a date or small get together with friends. I think it was just a bad night when we decided to go. I would give it another shot.
The sashimi was amazing and the staff was super sweet and wonderful. I’d go again!
What an amazing gem of restaurant the sushi is delicious the sushi chef is an artist every plate was presented beautiful.
Great service and if you have any food allergies they will take care of you.
Food was excellent and sushi was quality and the right size. I have been to Japan and high end sushi all around America. Spot on.
The yellowtail sashimi and collar special was off the charts tasty and fun and reasonably priced.
The waiter was attentive and kind. 10/10. We’ll be back!
Great food with friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Love, love, love Ebisu! Best sushi in Austin every time. This place is criminally underrated.
These guys do a great job. This is our new go to sushi joint.
Thank you for the wonderful experience! Service was above and beyond. Food was delicious! The wagu beef on the rocks is highly recommended, great pricing on the wines, and the salmon sashimi was fresh!
Was great experience, great staff during the pandemic
We love Ebisu! We found it about 6 weeks ago, and have eaten there every week (or more) since! Great sushi, great music, great ambiance, great service, great value!
We had a great time and our first time. Excellent food and service.
Drake was absolutely amazing. Grateful for all the care they took to ensure it was a positive dining experience. For a good while we were the only people on the dining area. The next group that came on chose to wear no face covering which was a little bothersome and only wish that had been seated further away. Not an issue with the staff at all. Only that other patrons would be considerate of others.
My husband and I went to Ebisu for our first date night in a while (Corona virus).
The tables were spaced out so you were the required distance apart. There was a musician playing some great music. The waiter was awesome - he told us what fish were fresh (just brought in that day) and although he seemed to be the only waiter for the 5 tables total he was on it!
The chef even gave us a complimentary sushi roll and 10% off for coming in that day. We loved it! Very tasty fish - melted like butter when you ate it and the rice dish my husband got was also amazing.
They are open now during the virus and did their best to seat people apart. The server wore a mask. We have been here before and the sushi is the best part. Some of the izakaya dishes can be hit or miss. Brussel sprouts are good.
Found this restaurant on open table while visiting Austin with good recommendations and made a last minute reservation. Our party of 7 all thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Tried several starters including edamame, sea bass and the brussel sprouts were amazing!(got a second order because they were a big hit).
Tried a variety of rolls and even the Wagu beef that you cook yourself on the hot stone at your table. Wait staff was very attentive including the manager.
Seriously good food. The Avocado Bomb is an exceptional appetizer. Great sushi. Very good Dragon Roll.
This was the best sushi and ambiance! Will come back often for sure!!
I actually have been impressed with the service here. Restaurants in this area struggle with having enough quality servers. I have been here five times, every time was very impressed with the service.
Great Friday evening with my family. The food was delicious and finely presented. Good service and acceptable waiting time. Nice ambience but too cold. Overall good experience. We will definitely visit Ebisu again.
We were here for Valentine’s Day and the management was very disorganized. Open table confirmed our reservation at 9pm but got seated 30 minutes later.
Being in the hospitality industry, Valentine’s Day is supposed to be a busy time of the year which every restaurants , hotels should know to plan ahead.
This restaurant has so much potential but was disappointing. This should have been a happy, romantic, pre- birthday celebration prior to my birthday before travel but instead was a sad and stressful evening. We made the most of it and thankfully ,my husband, was with me and kept it positive.
Our waiter, however, Justin, was wonderful and made sure he was following up with the Sushi chefs who are visually uncomfortable to watch since they seem so stressed behind the sushi counter. Most of the couples including us was served from 45 minutes later than the usual.
The General Manager, Jonathan, tried to talk to us and apologized and really did not do much to correct the situation.
This is an unfortunate situation for everyone but I will never recommend this restaurant to any of my clients.
After sitting for 2 hours we only received our appetizer... when a roll finally came out, it was terrible both in taste and presentation. so we decided to leave and find another restaurant. They really need to improve.
Our server was great, but the menu didn't state that one of the sushi roll combos would have cheese. that was an issue for the person ordering it, and we got a second order without the cheese, but it took quite a while for it to come out. Since it was a mistake, I don't think we should have had to wait so long. My wife's sushi has been slightly better quality and more interesting flavor at other restaurtants. My teriyaki chicken and bulgogi was good. The cocktail I had was very good.
A good sushi place in northwest Austin you ask, and my reply 'Absolutely'. Went for a date night with my lady friend and were pleasantly surprised by the attention from the staff, the food quality, some unusual takes on rolls and cocktails, and overall value. We will be back.
Food was excellent. Horrible service. We only had three place settings for a party of four. We had to ask 5 times for the fourth setting. We ordered cocktails fairly quickly but it then took 20 minutes before our server took our food order. My wife and I split the Wagyu Hot Rock entree which was supposed to come with soup, salad and vegetables. We got the beef but none of the sides. When we asked about this we eventually got the soup and salad but never got the vegetables.
Gyoza and sushi were very good. My brother had the tuna tower. He said it was good but a little small for the price.
The food was good enough to give it another try but the service better be substantially better.
Food and value were good. Service was sub-par. There was a problem with the Opentable voucher and management handled the situation really poorly. This could have been a better experience if it wasn't for the service part.
Great food and happy hour is the best deal in town. Drinks were creative, crudo was lovely and super tasty and the entire hot menu is phenomenal.
We’re short staffed and apologized and appreciated our patience. Would go back for sure b
This was our first visit and became our favorite sushi place in Austin
Great food and reasonable prices.
This was a great choice for my husband's birthday dinner. It was everyone's first time eating here and everyone enjoyed it! Will definitely be eating here again.
Food was delicious and presented well. Was a little confused as to why they sat us in the bar area when we had reservations? Also, a little surprised that the bartender was also waiting all the tables in the bar area. Not so great. Overall, would return for the food, but not much else...
Ebisu is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have experienced. Delicious, beautiful food. And an attractive interior. Good service.
The timing was right at 5:45. Good food and casual atmosphere that was comfortable for with our kids.
I enjoyed the experience greatly. The sushi was superb. The ambiance was divine. service was great.
Food was delicious! Although, calamari portion size is super small! Ambiance was great. Service could have been better. Not good on keeping up on refills; when we did tell the waitress what needed to be refilled, she filled it incorrectly.
