Eberly is our favorite Austin restaurant.
Great, interesting food prepared perfectly. And the service is terrific.
Food was very mediocre unfortunately- we ordered the smash burger, white fish salad, and eggs Benedict and they were all mediocre.
the ambiance & service were great. the food was terrible. all 4 of us had bad meals. its not how i remembered eberly. perhaps it’s just the brunch that’s so bad… it’s a shame because it’s such a cool place. i will not be going back for brunch.
Excellent ambiance and drinks
My pasta and my daughter’s pasta had no flavor and the music was sooo loud… the octopus tasted pretty good, but the portion is pretty small.
My only intention here is let the restaurant know how was my personal experience and that they can improve their business. Thank you
Great service and beautiful restaurant. Went for brunch, and admittedly, they said that they were soft relaunching brunch after covid, but the food left much to be desired. The chicken BLT was dry, with a slightly stale bun, and the eggs were pre-scrambled, clearly not made to order.
Everything about Eberly is fabulous! A phenomenal food menu, delicious cocktails, cozy ambiance and amazing service. You won’t be disappointed!
Went for brunch and all the food was delicious, the drinks very tasty, and the service was great! They have done a great job on all aspects of this place!
It was an amazing experience!! LOVE the vibe and the people there! We had such wonderful time here :)
Portions were small but good. Offered shaved truffles on main course but also over priced. Service ok, but for the costly small dishes I would expect much better service. Valet was nice and fast.
Great spot for a special occasion and dinner with friends!! great food and cocktails
Outstanding service, amazing cocktails and delicious entrees cooked to perfection. Date night here never disappoints.
The food was a bit disappointing. The octopus had very little meat, the mussels were well
Cooked but in a mediocre broth, the halibut was nice although slightly overcooked. The star of the evening was the service, which was excellent and the dessert--also excellent
It's not cheap, but it's expensive. Very good tho. Table in the main dining room was literally screaming over each other for 40 mins straight. Once they left, it was much better.
Great space and ambiance, paying for the experience more than anything. Food is overpriced for what you’re getting, not much flavor to it.
The staff was amazing and the food was even better! Will definitely be back!
Loved everything about his place! For apps the salmon poke and house salad were great. Large portions. Octopus was ok, liked the flavor but the octopus itself was mediocre. The halibut main dish was amazing!! Ans side of Brussel sprouts cooked to perfection! My husband got the ribs which were also delicious. Ambiance and decor beautiful and service was excellent. Mariah was a great server thank you!
Perfect (albeit expensive) experience.
Lovely experience and atmosphere
We have been saving Eberly for a special occasion for several years now. We were shocked by the quality of the food. I had the salmon and it was very bland. My Mom had the cauliflower and she could only tolerate a few bites. My Dad and I both tried a bite of the cauliflower and it was terrible...not steamed, crunchy, cold, and dusted with chili pepper. My Dad had the halibut and it was very dry. My fiance had the steak and liked it. Our table was so dark that we could barely see the menu and it was so loud we had to repeat ourselves several times. At the end of the meal, we tried the toffee pudding and it was a good note to end on, but overall a good dining experience for us.
Food was great but cocktails were the highlight! Glad we got talked into the sticky bread pudding!
Soooo much potential! Yet I am left slightly disappointed. We arrived at 7pm for our 7:45pm high top reservation and asked if we could get a drink at the bar before our table was ready. We were seated in a lovely couch area in the cedar tavern which is just beautiful. Our server seemed extremely confused about if we were eating at the small side table. I told her we had a reservation for a high top at 7:45. She responded that she wasn't sure and would bring us forks and knives and promptly walked away. When she came back (much later) I tried to verify that the 4 of us would be seated at a high top for dinner and not have to eat at a small side table. She responded, "I don't know and I am really busy right now but I'll try to ask the host later". Odd. She later came back and said we would be seated at a high top once it was our reservation. My fiance then ordered a bourbon. She came back much later and said that they did not have that bourbon. He asked what they did have and she went on a long explanation about covid causing supply chain issues so she wasn't sure. Odd again. We did not end up being seated until 8:15, 30 minutes late. It was fine because the cedar tavern is so lovely, I just found it odd that no one ever checked in to give us a status update. Once seated, we ordered appetizers right away. The Japanese milk buns were pretty dry but the tartare and poke were quite good. We did not see our waitress after ordering appetizers until well after they were brought and we finished them. I could see her chatting with another waitress for quite some time. This meant a very large gap between our apps and entrees. The mac and cheese and mushroom pasta were truly exceptional. The rest of our items were good but nothing extraordinary.
All in all, extremely odd service and inconsistent food for such a large bill at the end of the night. I was so excited for this night and I felt let down. I can't say I would recommend for this price. Maybe with some changes?
We ordered the Japanese Milk rolls (which were plain Ole dinner rolls thinking they’d be something exotic lime the name. They were not lol.
The beets were ok if you like pickled beets. The mussels were great!
The salmon was fine but nothing remarkable
The Oxtail would’ve been great if it were more substantive but the portion was a fraction of what we were hoping for.
The asparagus was a miss as they were charred but not really cooked plus served with a pickled mushroom which we felt clashed too much. This was the first time in years where we left food on a table instead of requesting a to go box.
Drinks: Fantastic atmosphere especially for drinks! Their “Nick the Lounge Singer” cocktail was absolutely delicious. One the top 5 drinks I’ve had in town.
Limited menu which was nice but nothing extraordinary. Desserts and drinks were fantastic!
Food was definitely a little salty
Excellent service. Excellent food and drinks.
The food is great here as well as the ambiance, but we went for a birthday dinner and they wouldn’t allow us to move from dinner to the bar, even though there was space. Apparently it requires a separate reservation (eye roll). When did Austin become NYC?
We took our nephew who is a CIA chef and loved the experience. We arrived early and enjoyed cocktails at the beautiful, historic 140 year old bar. We were given a history lesson of Angelina Eberly, the restaurant's namesake, and the bar and stained glass made by Tiffany & CO.
For dinner we ordered several appetizers including the poke, octopus, and beet salad. They were all delicious and presented beautifully. For our entrees, we split the pasta with mushrooms and the pasta with oxtail. Both were amazing.
Can't wait to return!
We tried Eberly for the first time for our anniversary and loved it. Our server Brandon was very friendly and helpful. The signed card and champagne were a very nice touch. Through no fault of the restaurant, we had a little medical emergency to deal with and the staff and management handled it very discreetly and with such professionalism. Tyler was one of the managers that came by to check on us and he was very helpful and kind. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Eberly is consistently good, great service and beautiful interiors - whether the bar or the restaurant, it's worth the visit!
Such a great venue. Amazing Service and outstanding food
So glad to have found this place while visiting Austin. Food and service was phenomenal. When I'm eating in the indoor atrium I spotted one of the most stunning bars I have ever seen. I walked up to take a closer look the barkeep shared the rich history of this American treasure.
Delicious food and exceptional service. WAY to cold in the front dining room. Noise level was high even with many tables open. Love the approach to the bathrooms. Inclusive and appropriate.
First time eating at Eberly and it was great! The menu is limited, which I like, and everything they do, they do very well. Their pastry chef is seriously on top of their game because the milk rolls and desserts were phenomenal.
The atmosphere is really fun, highly recommend for a nice date night. If you can, try to end the night at the back bar, it’s incredibly gorgeous and very chill and the drinks are GREAT. Do expect to spend a bit but it is very worth it!
We came in for our 5 year anniversary. The staff was very nice and all signed off on this nice card they had made for us. They also gave us free dessert. The food was overall pretty good, but the restaurant is extremely expensive if you decide to just enjoy yourself without worrying too much about how much things cost. The place itself is really cute but I wish we could have sat in the atrium but it was closed for an event. Good ambiance. Overall I would recommend Eberly.
I noticed our server spent a lot more time at the table next to us and provided them much more service. For example, he offered them different items, asked them dietary needs, made recommendations. He didn't seem as interested in the same style or convo with us. I felt a little bit ... uneasy. I felt like maybe we were less valuable or something? We bought plenty of food and ordered drinks, so our tab was not inexpensive. Not sure why we got a less interactive experience than our neighbor.
Great food and great service! Will definitely be back soon :)
I had a work dinner at Eberly and it was outstanding in all respects. I was so impressed I made another reservation for my husband's birthday!! We ordered the milk buns and octopus for starters, followed by Halibut, Mushroom Pasta and Short Ribs. All amazing.
