Eatalia Bedford is so much more than a clever pun. Hidden under – yes we said under – the High Street in the middle of the city centre, it is possibly one of the finest Italian restaurants in the area. Locals can’t say enough about this place, raving about everything from the fantastic and friendly atmosphere, personable and professional service and of course, the fantastic food. So much more than simply pizza and pasta, Eatalia will wow and delight you with its authentic Italian cuisine. From the street all you’ll see is a door and a sign, but don’t let that fool you as, once you make your way down into the restaurant, you’ll never want to leave. Space is extremely limited though so don’t miss out on this hidden gem, book your table now.

I booked a Valentine’s dinner. When I called to confirm on the day, I was told they had no reservation for me as they had turned off the Open Table system. To their credit they said they would find me a table. When we turned up we were sat for about 20 minutes before I intervened and asked if we could at least get some drinks. Over the next 90 minutes we had to fight for every bit of service. The food was mediocre and the attitude one of apathy. As we came to the end of the meal two of the set menu deserts were no long available. You can normally always count on Italian restaurants for good service and hospitality, sadly this place lacked any thing other than indifference. When we left there was zero acknowledgement. I will not be returning, there are plenty other restaurants in the area that value their customers!
