Easy Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I was in Chattanooga and wanted an authentically crafted dinner and a nice glass of wine. Easy Bistro was all of that and more. The service was perfect -- there when I needed them, but not hovering or obtrusive. I was treated to an on-the-house aperitif called and Apple Shrug, followed by and amuse buche of butternut squash purée with a delicious dust of seasoning. I ordered a few oysters to get started, then had the duck confit, which was amazing. I look forward to my next trip to Chattanooga and another memorable meal at Easy.
This was my second ever visit based on how good it was last year. Brought a new friend with me this time. Delighted to say it has only got better. Service was absolutely perfect, attentive but not intrusive. Once again their food was delicious and the drink menu is brilliant. we were both able to find exactly what we wanted.
Day of reservation, midweek. Seated on time, nice reuse of building downtown. Well presented oysters, delicious scallops, good drinks. Server regularly disappeared for 10-20 minutes increments, despite having a single other table. Server left ticket/tab at table and I put my card down before he walked away and he kept on walking, taking 20+ minutes before returning to pick it up, citing, "a mix up at the bar." Yet, in that 20+ minutes I'd seen him in the back fiddling about, in and out of the dining floor, and return to his single other table multiple times. Thankfully, a nice other server or busser did stop by to speak with me several times, since at least he noticed how poorly the server was attending his only other customer.
Overall it was just an okay experience. Overall I think it tries to be more than what it really needs or can be. The cornbread and biscuit starter, for the price, should have been warm but instead both were served cold. The biscuit had a pepper flavor to it and it threw the whole taste experience off. The large slice of cornbread, served almost like it had been refrigerated, was disappointing to say the least. The shrimp & grits were quite tasty bt the NY Strip, which I ordered medium, was served medium very-well with no pink to be found. The Smore's dessert is a 2 inch thick chocolate goo with melted marshmallows and a flavored cookie. I asked for a soft drink and had to wait a very long time for it. When I asked the waiter if he had forgotten about it he stated he had the glass ready but had to wait on someone else to actually pour the drink into the glass. Shortly thereafter a young lady did come over with the bottle of Sprite, poured the glass, and then left but took the bottle with her. Very confusing why a bottle of wine gets left at the table but a 12oz bottle of Sprite does not. One starter, two entrees, two desserts, one Sprite, and tap water totalled just under $90. While the architecture of the building is nice the food, not the experience, live up to the hype.
Easy is one of our perennial favorites and we're never disappointed. We brought a NY winery owner as our guest this time and he was extremely happy with the food, wine and service. The weather was wonderful and we had a delightful table outside to enjoy the nighttime sights and sounds of downtown Chattanooga. Our server Robin was really knowledgeable not just of the food menu but also of the wine list and pairings. It's obvious a lot of time goes into staff training. A imminently memorable evening--isn't that what a great restaurant should offer?
I am NEVER disappointed when we eat at Easy Bistro. I think each time we go the food I eat is the BEST thing I have ever tasted. Because the menu changes I almost never get the same thing twice (which worried me at first since I am a creature of habit). We love to try the different cocktails (another changing menu)-haven't had a bad one yet. This is our favorite date restaurant.
I visited East Bistro TWICE in the same week because it was just that good! The first trip was the day after my wedding and the staff made the evening very special as we started our honeymoon. We enjoyed it so much we brought friends with us to end the honeymoon a week later.
My favorite dish for my second trip was the heirloom tomato soup. It tasted like tomato soup with a grilled cheese in it! Absolutely delicious.
Great food and service. Seated promptly (had reservation) and was greeted by wait staff almost immediately. Very busy due to a race downtown. Restaurant was able to handle throughput with ease. Food arrived and was delicious--try the mussels! Meal was excellent and value was worth the $. Big shout out to valet staff who parked/ retrieved car right on time despite heavy traffic/parking issues due to race--thanks guys! Highly recommend.
We made a reservation at Easy Bistro on the recommendation of the Dwell Hotel, where we were staying at the start of our honeymoon.
The cocktails and food were phenomenal! The staff all signed a card that said congratulations, which was super special.
Save room for the bread pudding, the crispy bits on the top were amazing.
