Originally opened in 2005, Garrett Harker’s flagship restaurant has reopened its doors just up Beacon St. only three blocks from its original location. Eastern Standard continues to offer seasonally focused New England interpretations of classic brasserie fare, including raw bar and charcuterie, nostalgic favorites like steak tartare, baked rigatoni, steak frites, and butterscotch bread pudding, and some new soon-to-be-instant-classic dishes. Cocktail legend Jackson Cannon has crafted a beverage menu that features an array of craft cocktails both new and classic, a curated selection of wines, and craft beers from near and far.

    Multiple dates available
    Every Sunday night, we’re serving up a saucy steak menu! Choose between bavette ($30), NY Strip ($45), and ribeye ($60). Each plate comes with herb frites, a crunchy caesar salad, and your choice of sauce: chimichurri, spicy béarnaise, or horseradish cream. We'll also offer chicken and salmon frites for all you non-steak lovers. This Sunday-only menu will also feature raw bar, fan-favorite sides, and appetizers like steak tartare, mac and cheese, and bone marrow. Don't fret, we'll be able to accommodate all dietary restrictions and preferences! It’s a proper Sunday feast, week after week!

    We went for the Sekali pop up event. The sekali dishes are fine but I must admit that the dishes at the Sekali pop up in Branch Line ware much better in taste and originality. The laksa agnolotti were quite salty, as were the salted cod croquettes from the ES menu. I understand that salted cod is salty itself but the inside were ok, the outside crust tasted like they were coated in a layer of salt. Ambience at the patio was great. Service was good but the servers’ workload seemed too much for them to check on us some time.

    Excellent spot for dinner before a Fenway event. The salmon was excellent (although not sure about the artichoke salad). Chicken breast was beautifully cooked but too salty. Salad Nicoise was perfect. And the bread pudding was fantastic. The entrees need more green vegetables (but I am too mean to pay $12 for more broccolini and no other greens available).

    We had a 5:30 reservation for the limited menu steak and seafood night . 3 people ordered lobster rolls - and they had run out? Couldn’t make a stink but really? 5:30 on Father’s Day and you run out of lobster?! Food was just meh. Not worth the price . Service and drinks were fine and location to Fenway area is ideal. Too bad the food isn’t better.

    We were there for a special celebration. The restaurant email (Sophie) answered all our questions about wine and arranged a pre-dinner toast so everything was ready when we arrived. Matt was an excellent waiter. Excellent short ribs!

    We were in from Chicago for the weekend and the Yankees were playing the Red Sox on a Friday night… great potential right!! We could not get tix, but wanted that Yanks / Bosox vibe…. So, we got reservations at a great restaraunt right nearby.. logical… for anyone otherthan the ‘hostesses from hell’!! We asked for 3 seats in the bar vs outside because of the game - we don’t know why, but the hostess stand was not happy with that change…. (??) irritable button was ignited!!! After 5 minutes of frustrated hostess stand activity and growled looks, we were walked over into this great bar and this 2nd hostess said ‘here, right in front of the tv’ with a disgruntled tone to match her very grumpy look… After that, all was great !! And Boston even won - So, it’s a 10 rating once you get through a set of terrible 7-second first customer experiences… Put a friendly face up front and it would bd a 12!!!

    Had dinner with two co-workers in June 2025. It wasn't as good as the Eastern Standard I remember from it's prior location. I found the menu fairly small and uninspired. I had the baked ragu which was solid, but I thought the portion size was pretty modest for $26. No sides included. Overall it was totally fine, but I won't hurry back.
