Had an amazing server & the food was pretty good
Good food and service, parking could be an issue at times.
This was my first visit to the restaurant. I took 10 people for a business lunch and everybody loved it. Everything was great, the appetizers, the variety of the menu, the taste of the food, the speed of the service, and the friendly staff.
The mussels were exceptional!
One of the best restaurants I've been to in Richmond. I'm surprised this isn't talked about as much as some of the others. We loved it!
This was our fist time ay East Coast. The food was delicious. The timing was off on how our food was delivered. No drinks yet when the salad and app was served. Dinner was presented before we were done with our first course. But the food was delicious. Outstanding.
The noise level was loud. Hard for a date night but I'd go back and request a quiet corner.
The oysters and cheese platter were great. My husband got the steak. The waitress didn't ask how he wanted it cooked, which was a bit odd. He's pretty particular about his steak, and while it was cooked to a medium, it didn't have a sear on the outside as great steaks should have. I had the mahi and while the flavors were great it was a bit dry from being slightly overcooked. I will say the flavor of the mahi made up for this. Overall, it was a decent meal but think I would only go back for the oysters and starter meals.
Apart from some loud people using inappropriate language upstairs in the back room, our experience was excellent. We had the crunchy rolls to start then some small plates. My husband loved the smoke salmon. The peanuts on my arugula salad were what made the salad extra special. Portion sizes and presentation were perfect. Thank you for a great date night!
Great service! Food and drinks were wonderful. Would definitely recommend.
Good food, solid value. Worth s trip. Nice place.
Business meal. Good quiet space upstairs. Food was amazing whether it was oysters, appetizers or main entrees. The wine list is great even if a little pricey.
We really had a great time at East Coast Provisions. Starting with happy hour raw oysters, the experience was awesome! Our group tried three different seafood mains: seared scallops, pan-fried rockfish and blackened mahi. All were excellent and were thoughtfully paired with great accompaniments. Based on our enjoyment of dinner, I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
We were very disappointed with East Coast Provisions. They were out of a lot of the fish offerings (although it was Sunday night), and the broiled fish I was ab'e to get was dry and tasteless, as were the vegetables on the plate.
Was hard to judge the food because the three of us were sort of forced to order the same thin because the were out of fried oysters, cod, bransino, lobster, lava cake... it was an off night for them due to a very heavy weekend
The crab salad was served on a long skinny plate making it tricky not to knock the crab on the table. One of the bites of crab was rank. Overall, it was pleasing. The cheese plate was wonderful but the pickled onions ruined my soft cheese with it's moisture. It needs either to be very drained or in it's own container. The server was blah about my complaint. The potatoes were tasty and in very cute pan.
The server waited on a family before me and I was alone. I was there and ready first. I am confused about that as I was well dressed and made a reservation.
The food and service were great. It was a little on the loud side.
Food good / above average - but. not great..... food heavily spiced so tastes ok but spices overwhelm actual food flavor ( octopus, mussels, brandzino)
Noise/acoustics totally unacceptable - do not like shouting over table to be heard- small room of 20 peeps should not be so loud - my dining room seats at least this number and conversation not an issue. Concept of all so ideal and acoustical adjustments need to be made for a close to perfect experience!
Will try again in front room with glass and seating only for 12 - maybe more pleasant and not so rushed to leave. Spending $250 plus for 3 - expect more ambiance and a notch up on food scale!
This was our first time at East Coast Provisions and we had a great experience! We came for lunch and had the calamari, octopus, and various sandwiches. They were all really delicious and the staff was very attentive. Everyone commented on how good the food was! We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!!!
From the outside it looks like it'll be a little bit of a dive inside but nothing could be further from the truth. It was spotless, well appointed design, and a very inviting ice display of fresh seafood at the front tells you they aren't imitating a seafood restaurant- it's the real deal. I thoroughly enjoyed by fried fish sandwich, the spread was delicious, as was the housemade mustard vinaigrette on my salad. Service was great as well. Lots of people with small toddlers there too, don't be afraid to bring a kid!
Had a great experience for my husband’s birthday. Our waiter was attentive and made great suggestions. The octopus is delicious! Drinks and ambiance on point. We will definitely be back!
Food and Wine: Awesome, cocktails could use a heavier pour
In general the food was great, my only criticism is that the octopus appetizer was way too salty, it overpowered the flavor of the seafood.
Had Karl as a waiter, and he was just incredible. Recommended some great appetizers and told us when he thought an option wouldn't be great for us. Had a great VDay date here, highly recommend!
If you want good seafood, East Coast provisions has a great selection.Be sure to try the crab miso soup - delicious! Portion sizes are good and there is a lot of variety in their menu. Right on Cary Street. Definitely need reservations before you go.
The staff was very energetic, accommodating and helpful. The food was expertly prepared, and tasted as good as it looked. 5 stars.
Great atmosphere. My only wish is that the clams and crab legs came steamed instead of chilled.
Enjoyable dinner. Had steak, it was cooked perfectly . Service was excellent. Will definitely come back.
Our party of seven was handled with ease.
We really enjoyed our dinner! The mussels were outstanding with a fabulous sauce. The Bells Two Hearted IPA was super fresh and the oysters and salmon did not disappoint. We will definitely be back. Super cute restaurant and awesome food!
Our wait staff who also happened to be the bartender (we were seated around the corner) was wonderful. She corrected an issue immediately and graciously.
Very enjoyable Sunday brunch. Lots of choices from baked breads to mussels to fish tacos. Everything was delicious.
Great brunch; good food and selection of meals. The service was excellent.
Excellent service and food.
The food was fantastic. Everything appetizers, drinks, mains and dessert. Sort of pricey but delicious. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 Stars across the board is because it was very loud in there. I think there were a few private events going on and those guests were having lots of fu n!
Food was very good. Overall experience was OK but there are better choices for seafood in RVA. Noise level in small front room very loud and other tables can ruin your conversation. Try to get seated in main or upstairs area.
Went for a birthday family celebration
Food Excellent. We had crab, scallops, rockfish, mahi, burger, etc
Everything was great
Donuts for dessert....Yes!!
All agreed to return!
Went on a Sunday night. Quiet which was nice. Food was excellent and staff was very friendly. Would absolutely return for another meal!
Cool spot for date or group, would like to try it again and sit upstairs, definitely a great place to try. Great food and drinks.
Awesome. Mussells were great. Blackened Mahi mahi was awesome. Very tasty! Crab cakes were amazing.
I selected East Coast Provisions because it is close to my home and I'm so glad I did. Our party of four was very pleased with the creative menu, the wine list and the service. The only thing that was not perfect was the limited selection of desserts on that particular evening. Nevertheless, I will definitely return many times.
