East Coast Provisions Ratings and Reviews
We loved it all!
The menu, our waiter, the food...delicious!
Started with the calamari and octopus. Oh my! So good!
We all had seafood entrees all were perfectly cooked and very flavorful.
Too full for dessert, unfortunately. Gives us a reason to return soon.
Two couples had four different meals and everyone loved their food. We especially like that the menu features the simply grilled choices, and also the entire menu has lots of Paleo and low carb options that we prefer. Portion sizes are reasonable, no need for doggie bag, but still plenty of food. Love the variety and quality of the veggies and sides served with the dishes. One of our favorite places!
We had an excellent meal, the food was amazing! Service was prompt and accurate. Price and portions were very reasonable. The patio was the best I've ever seen, they even opened it up just for us. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Well rounded menu focusing on freshest ingredients and seafood... though the steak and hamburger were perfectly cooked and and delicious. The grilled salmon on shaved Brussels sprouts was outstanding. Not loud and great atmosphere with exposed brick walls.
Great experience overall. Service was excellent all night, and everything tasted great. Our only issue was the bed of arugula under the steak, which tasted like someone had spilt salt on it before it was served. Overall, however, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Richmond area looking for great seafood and a fun atmosphere.
While the food was good, it was not great. I had the crab cake and enjoyed it, but it was nothing like other crab cakes that have been more flavorful. The dessert was some type of lava cake and I expected it to be warm. It was cold and it was fine, but again, it was not great.
We sat on the outdoor patio on a lovely night. The food was very good and the server helped my husband find just what he was looking for on the menu. Service was prompt but we weren't bugged to death with unnecessary interruptions, and when our conversation kept us at the table 10 minutes past when we paid the bill we did not feel rushed.
We went because of the Richmond Restaurant Week. this is fixed price menu with money being donated to our local feed bank. For starters, we each selected a different seafood selection. Each was excellent. We each had a different main course, beef, mahi mahi, crab cakes and chicken. As a seafood lover, I will tell you that the mahi mahi entree was one of the best I have ever had. Everybody else enjoyed their selection also. Desserts were all very good. Server was very attentive to our needs.
Very nice Birthday dinner! Our waitress Nan was very attentive and responsive to our needs. We ordered grilled oysters which my family thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the crab salad and tuna poke. Both were very delicate in taste. Husband and son ordered simply grilled fish that they were satisfied with their dishes. Desserts were the butterscotch pudding and chocolate lava cake. Yum Yum! Will definitely be back.
The food and service was good, but the place was so loud it overshadowed everything. We could not engage in conversation. The music - and I speak loosely - consisted of thumping, booming bass. And we had two parties of screamers at adjoining tables. Overall, it made for a most unpleasant evening.
Hands down my favorite spot in Carytown! My wife and I have been several times now and are always torn between getting our favorite dishes and branching out and each time we have branched out the new dish time and again becomes a new favorite. Have not had one bad dish (small plate or entree)!
The food and atmosphere was fantastic; only one complaint that we were a party of 3 and were seated in the upstairs "group" room where there were two LARGE parties (over 8) that took up the rest of the room and it was too noisy for our small party to hear each other.
First time at this restaurant-food was good, but disappointed in a couple of aspects of the dining experience. First, to charge $1 per slice of bread is ridiculous! Second, they offered a Cesar salad only made with kale-how nontraditional! The prices are not modest, but that's what decent fish seems to cost in an upscale restaurant these days, so I'll accept that for what it is. The options are limited for main courses and although the server was pleasant, she didn't check back with us during the meal to see how everything was-not typical! Overall, decent but not a great experience for someone who is used to dining in good restaurants. One of the other parties with us had to send their meal back because the chicken was under cooked, and the wait was rather long since the restaurant did not appear to be that busy for a Tuesday night.
We came to celebrate a birthday. Two of us, mid sixties, and my 90+ year old grandmother. Surprisingly accessible even for a "rollator" walker. We were inside, not on the patio. Moderate noise, easy conversation. The ruby salts oysters were outstanding! All of us had crabcakes, which were delicious - just enough "other stuff" to hold the crabcake together. Special props to the server, who was amazingly good. Highly recommended.
We went on a Saturday night and had a reservation. We were taken to the smaller room with windows facing the out door deck. Even that more private space did not provide enough of a barrier to the loud noise. We were hoping to have a romantic meal to celebrate a birthday but because of the noise level it was difficult to have a conversation. Plus my husband's seat faced the brick wall fireplace and felt claustrophobic.
Ordered the oyster sampler which was delicious but had to ask the server where each was from. There are little labels stuck in ice but unless you are familiar with the name you might not know. These were not inexpensive so it would have been good service to have a little explanation and not just plopped down in front of us
The ceviche was fresh and delicious
The night's special was marlin cooked with an Indian influence and was good but dry in some spots
We didn't bother to mention the birthday and weren't asked if this was our first visit or if it was a special occasion as often other restaurants will do
We decided we just wanted to escape the noise and enjoy dessert elsewhere
