Took my parents here for Father's Day and we ordered an array of appetizers and sushi rolls to share. They enjoyed every bite and can't wait to return. The calamari is unlike any we've ever had; great flavor in the sauce they use.
Food was delicious. Environment fantastic. Decor nice. Server was pleasant, failed to place my main course, so I had to wait while everyone had there main courses. I guess...it happens. We'll def be back to try again. Would love to try the lunch menu.
This was my first time attending East Coast Provisions and I will be back. The food was innovative and delicious. Portion sizes aren’t huge, but they are enough to leave you feeling satisfied. We had the calamari to start and it was wonderful. The samba honey lime sauce makes this dish.
For the main course we had the scallops, salmon, crab legs and NY strip. They were all perfectly cooked and the sides complemented the meals perfectly.
Dessert was the one area that was good, but not wow. We had the donuts which were tasty but a little over fried. The key lime gelato was a little over churned. Overall though, the meal was excellent. The cocktails were tasty as well.
The restaurant has a cute atmosphere, but it is on the noisy side, so be prepared.
Great food, great service!
Great dinner! The service was excellent and the cocktails area delicious.
Food and service were amazing!! Highly recommend
Dinner with a couple we hadn’t been with in some time. Their first visit to the restaurant. Sat and talked quite awhile after pay check, and nobody bothered us. Quite pleasant!
Excellent drinks and appetizers.
Wonderful birthday dinner
We came here as a large family group for brunch after my wedding. They were super awesome and accommodating by letting us bend the large party policy a little and bring more people when some of our family members ended up with delayed flights. That meant so much to us! Thanks for being another nice part of a special weekend!
This was a huge disappointment. The restaurant was clearly short of staff as the hostess said she would take our order and serve our table. Since she had her other job, the service was slow and uneven for the entire meal. We waited 10 minutes between ordering our drinks and getting them - after ten minutes we were told that they had to tap a new keg for the beers we ordered (instead of telling us at the beginning and getting us some options). The rest of the evening did not improve.
Some of the food was excellent (raw oysters) other ok (the sushi rice just came apart at the first touch). But the most disappointing was the lobster. I asked about it and was told it was large and also $42. I hadn't had lobster all year so decided to go for it. What nobody told me was that for $42, you get a relatively small lobster on a plate - not even garnish let alone a potato or vegetable or even cole slaw. Actually, it didn't even come with lobster utensils (crackers), so I had to wait another 5 minutes for that. After it came and I was shocked, I ordered a side of broccolini. Seriously, any lobster shack with a paper plate and plastic utensils would have been at least as good for less than $20. When people order a dinner they expect a dinner, or at least tell them that they should order sides (like some of the steak places do).
Given the generally positive reviews, I assume this was an off night - it was a bummer.
Went for brunch. Food didn't come out correct the first time but they quickly made it right. Good brunch place.
I've been here before for cocktails and lunch in the food was fabulous. King for dinner with friends and their food the lobster roll and the Fish and Chips were very good but the special the fish that was supposed to be cooked in a Banana Leaf was not cooked through. The side which was a rice noodle was not very good or had no flavor.
We are visiting Richmond and found easy coast very good service sushi was good and cocktails were exceptional recommend the salmon appetizer
There were three of us in our party, and all three enjoyed our meals from appetizers to desserts. Great atmosphere, great friendly service and terrific food. We would definitely return.
I went to this restaurant having been before and greatly enjoying the experience each time. This time we were seated in the front room next to two other tables. We had not been sitting for more than two minutes when one person very rudely told the other table to leave. As the other table left about ten minutes later, one person came over and he and the man next to us nearly started a fight right next to our table. The waiter was in the room giving us our food and did absolutely nothing despite having to squeeze around the obviously escalating situation occurring next to us. We then felt very uncomfortable sitting next to this man who had just threatened another person for the rest of the evening, ruining our date. While the restaurant cannot be blamed for the boorish behavior of patrons, it can be blamed for failing to do anything at all to stop it, and in fact they gave the man who was so rude a free dessert, basically just attempting to sweep the issue away instead of doing something. Why wouldn’t a manager be called in if a fight was about to break out in a restaurant? Why would we not be moved when there was plenty of room available elsewhere? While the food was very good as always, the experience leaves a bad taste in my mouth I will think about before going again.
Loud, loud, loud!!! Both times I've been I had to yell over other patrons to carry on a conversation. Food and service were good but I won't be going back.
Took my out-of-town, foodie parents here for a weekday lunch. Calamari appetizer was a hit, as were the three sandwiches we ordered (fried oyster, crab, lobster). Great service, atmosphere, location. Will gladly return.
Service and food selection were good. Drink menu was ok also.
Another excellent meal with great service. Enjoyed dining on the patio today.
The food was awesome and the service was great. The only problem we had was the noise level - we sat upstairs and the noise from other tables was very loud. It was hard to hear and talk with people at our table. But other than that it is highly recommended!
Awful very bland food that is not worth the price. I will not be back
We made a reservation for 10 a few days before the event. We were welcomed and offered our choice of seating. Service and food were excellent.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the portions were ample. The scalloped cauliflower with the ribeye was amazing!
Hostesses offered tepid welcome and goodbye. Food was good but hardly memorable. Server offered little more than bringing food to table. Does any of this sound like a reason to return?
Excellent food with appropriate portions. The calamari is the best I have ever eaten!!!!
Food was good. Cheese board was phenomenal! Complimented the wine very well, I just wish the presentation of the bottle was touched up. Fried cod was nicely done, broccolini was cooked excellent, but the creamed corn was slightly cold. Shrimp and clam pasta could’ve used a touch more salt or seasoning. Overall, experience went well and will definitely be back for those mussels and oysters.
The ceviche was very good and the drinks were delicious.
Good service on the patio on a beautiful Richmond evening.
This was a wonderful brunch experience! I’m disappointed there was no more pork belly pastrami but service was amazing!!!
We had reservations but decided to sit at the bar with the amazing Jon bartending. Great experience and food.
Went to ECP for a birthday celebration dinner. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, but once seated we felt a little deserted. The birthday boy had to wait until most guests were halfway down their drink before the server even came back and took his order. Most of the food was good, but they do not seem to be able to get steaks to the requested temperature. We had two go back for a second try.
I have been here for lunch several times. The patio is great and we have never had an issue at lunch time.
Overall I would recommend ECP, especially for lunch.
Some of the best seafood I've ever had!
My vegetarian quinoa entree was disappointing with only a couple of bites of carrots and no other veggies visible. still, it was pretty tasty in spite of its lack of veggies. Pleasant service and atmosphere.
Service and food were outstanding
Visiting Richmond for family wedding and the menu looked so good that we just had to try it out while here. Ate Rockfish and oysters- delicious!
Our server spent the entire meal with the 8-top next to us and we were largely ignored. Had to flag her down to order.
Great service and food!
What a fabulous find in Carytown! The weather was perfect and the hostess seated us in a little nook that was inside the restaurant but right by the open windows so we got the best of both worlds. The cocktails were awesome, our server was fabulous and the FOOD! Oh my goodness, not enough superlatives to describe the deliciousness. I would highly recommend the PEI Mussels and ask for extra bread to sop up the broth; impeccable!!
The service was friendly and efficient — the recommendations were on point. But it was the menu and kitchen that won the night.
