East Coast Provisions
Great valentines meal! Seafood was fresh and delicious! Drinks were amazing and so was dessert! Service was quick and servers were friendly and knowledgeable!
Food was fantastic, service was as well. Will definitely go back.
Everything was excellent. Menu marked well for gluten free with lots of choices.
Did not split plate when sharing. Slow service. Crab cakes were great but kale salad was not that great
Nice birthday dinner with my hubby.
First visit, had early reservations so not many patrons at that time. Waiter was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable concerning the menu. Ordered calamari for appetizer, crisp with delicious sauce, good portion size. Blackened mahi was a little salty so removed the topping and it was cooked to perfection. Would have preferred a rice pilaf to the chilled corn/bean relish, but still enjoyed the meal. A friend ordered the scallops and was impressed at their size. An enjoyable experience.
If you aren’t seated in a booth the seating is very close. It’s extremely loud. My friends ordered their fish seared and it was very much over done. Also, I’ve never been served such a tiny piece of salmon. Not sure I’d recommend this for dinner. I’ve eaten breakfast here and it was ok.
Food was pretty good. Wine pours a little skimpy. Entrees came out before appetizers were finished. Large noisy group with screaming kids kinda ruined the ambience.
The food was excellent! We enjoyed the steak and eggs - steak was cooked perfectly! The fish sandwich, and the Oyster sampler were also excellent, as was the Butterscotch pudding, made with Macallan single malt scotch. We were disappointed in the homemade donuts because they were clearly burnt - but the manager and the chef really impressed us when they not only figured out the cause of the donuts burning, but made them again and this time they were fantastic! And to top that, the manager was so very hospitable and put that order on the house. We would definitely eat here again, when we’re visiting this area the next time.
For the price, portions were on the small side for the dinner entrees our group ordered.
Food was prepared very well. Service was very good. The upstairs back room was very noisy and I had requested a table in another area but that did not happen per my reservation request.
Will be back, just constructive criticism.
We had an awesome meal for the second time at East Coast Provisions. The sushi was fresh, tasty and interesting, including our Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, and one more whose name I cannot remember. There were not a ton of vegetarian options for one guest, but she was still completely satisfied with her veggie bowl. Service was attentive and friendly, with a lively atmosphere but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. We loved it and will come back again!
Great food and service! 10/10 would eat there again.
Relaxing, great food and great service. Love sitting in the front room with a street view and the fireplace. A favorite place for brunch!
Date night for 4 couples. Everyone had a blast. We arrived early and the table was ready.
Our only concern was the noise level. Our server was adorable and extremely attentive. Food was great.
Excellent place. Ambiance, food and service were outstanding. We were a fily of 4 but it's also a great place for a romantic dinner
I was really looking forward to our dinner after having looked at the menu prior to arriving at the restaurant. While the food was adequate, it was not consistent. My dinner was excellent: salmon perfectly cooked, vegetables warm and presentation great. My husband's lobster tail was watery and side dishes were cold. My dinner companion's dish of scallops was artfully presented, but vegetables were stone cold.
Our server, Bobby, was superb. Took care of our problems without hesitation. But for the price of the meal, we'd probably expect the kitchen to get it right the first time around.
My husband and I were visiting our daughter and son-in-law and my husband wanted a good steak and didn't want to spend $50 for a ribeye, the going price at steak houses in the area. East Coast is within walking distance from my daughter's house so it was very convenient. Overall, this was a good experience with one outstanding aspect, our server! She was fantastic and made for a very enjoyable evening. I wish I could say more about the food but it was just ok - not bad, but not great either. Although, my son-in-law loved his burger. I had a shrimp tempura wrap and the lump crab app as my entree, my husband had the ribeye - huge portion with a yummy cauliflower side. The ambiance upstairs is really nice and cozy with cool furnishings.
The menu had a great selection, and everything we ordered was delicious. I especially loved the mussels appetizer to start!
We had a great dinner at East Coast Provisions. We decided to share several small plates and a kale caesar salad. The salad was crunchy, well dressed and delicious. We loved the fried calamari small plate. The sauce was tangy and the calamari lightly coated and tender. I don't particularly care for raw tuna, so the tuna poke didn't appeal to me, but my husband thought it was great. Neither of us enjoyed the baked oysters very much. They were served luke warm and didn't have very much flavor to our tastes. My husband loves raw oysters, but he prefers New England oysters to any that he has found in Virginia. These oysters seemed somewhere between raw and baked. We shared Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert. It is served with mint chocolate chip gelato. We had a spoon fight over this it was so good! The decaf coffee was the best I have had in a very long time. The service was very attentive and allowed us to linger over wine before ordering dessert and coffee. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for the food was our slight disappointment in the oysters. I would highly recommend East Coast Provisions. And I would definitely recommend an evening out in Carytown. Even on a Tuesday night the whole atmosphere was very energetic in the neighborhood.
Wonderful food, polite and excellent service. Thank you! We will be back.
Oysters, calamari and desserts were particularly good out of everything we tried. Our waitress was phenominal!
Fantastic brunch that pleased a group of adults and my toddler!
Great late night food. Seafood is always fresh and well prepared. Excellent service.
I ordered the Burrata salad & the waitress was kind enough to let me know it was small. I told her it was fine but when the plate came, there was a golfball sized piece of cheese, 4 super thin slivers of poached pear, and 3 sprigs of greens drizzled in dressing. The taste was amazing but for 10 bucks, I feel like I should've had the quantity of 3 of these in one plate. Other restaurants with this type of salad have offered a much higher quantity of food on the plate. The taste of the food is always wonderful and the atmosphere is nice here, but the size of the burrata salad is not worth $10.
Our waitress Colleen was amazing! Top notch service and it made our experience so pleasant
Ordered one of their specialty cocktails - which we’ve had umpteen times before, and it was incorrectly made even after we sent it back. Also, 2 of us ordered steaks prepared medium rare. One can out done and the other was ok.
My only complaint is that it’s taken me four months to try out East Coast Provisions since moving to RVA. This place is AMAZING! The vibe and ambience is perfect. We were seated upstairs in a romantic, cozy room and we had the place to ourselves for most of our meal, which was perfect since we were out celebrating my birthday. My boyfriend ordered the Expat cocktail and I had a salt air margarita. Both were great! We started out with the grilled oysters, west coast roll and the crunchy shrimp roll. All were fantastic, but I LOVED the oysters. For our entrees, my boyfriend had the scallops and I ordered a lobster roll with truffle fries. The entrees were fabulous and we were stuffed, but decided to order the single malt butterscotch pudding for dessert and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered came out perfect and was better than I imagined. I cannot wait to go back!
This place is a favorite for dining out. The food is always good and the service is outstanding.
We were seated in an upper room, where it was nice and quiet. Our food was excellent.
Food was thing to rave about. Service was ok, but also nothing spectacular. Won’t be going back.
I went there lunch time.
My family’s other dishes was all good or not bad. But my salmon salad was bad. It was just pile of leaves and topped salmon. Its flavor didn’t make a harmony togather.
I heard diner time was outstanding here.
But lunch was just... so so.
The staff and service at East Coast provisions is amazing. The food is pretty phenomenal as well. If you enjoy a great specialty drink, definitely sit at the bar and talk to their staff.
The service was fantastic, although the pace of the meal was a bit hurried. We were not quite done with our appetizers when the main entrées arrived. The appetizers are to die for. Seriously, all of them. The entrées that we chose, however, lacked a bit of luster. Crab cakes were well-made but lacked a contrast with the sides. Lobster roll would have been phenomenal had it not been for the stale bun that nearly ruined it. Rockfish was grilled perfectly but broccolini was cold and limp. All in all, a great experience. Some attention to details (pacing, sides/accoutrements) will make this place a 5-star standout. We will definitely be back!
Food was delicious and nice waitress!
Food was excellent. Drinks were…interesting. Verrrry sweet margarita, had to send it back in exchange for an okay Manhattan. Despite mentioning in the reservation AND in person that we were celebrating a birthday, there was no token dessert/celebratory offering. But overall, great vibe (we sat next to the fireplace) and delicious food. We tried the west coast sushi roll, beef tartare, prime rib, and roasted salmon.
Always a great meal and good service!! I have never been disappointed!!
My first experience at ECP. Upon walking in the place was lively w good aroma, so was looking forward to a good experience. Was placed next to a very loud party. Had trouble speaking to & being heard by my party. Ordered the rockfish. It was very over cooked & presented unattractively. The fried & shriveled skin was still attached. I should have sent it back, but it was my birthday celebration & I didn’t want to make a fuss in front of my guests, so I ate half of it. I guess I’m spoiled by the thick & flakey rockfish at Mamma Zu’s. Portions were surprisingly small for the price. My two cocktails were good. Appetizer of fried hearts of palm was good. Waiter could not explain desserts so just gave us the menu. Desserts just ok.
