East Coast Provisions
Oyster shells from app course left on table entire meal, despite waiter coming by several times. Fries arrived stone cold, also one diners entire entree stone cold. Apologies, and fries replaced. Cold entree replaced at no charge AFTER entire party finished meal. More apologies and offer of free desserts, which no one wanted....oyster shells still on table. Was Sunday night so chef probably not in house. Still....
The best part is the pretty sunny dining room where we were seated. It was bright and airy!
The food was just ok. The bread/biscuit basket was tasty (biscuits fluffy and mini muffins yummy) but the donuts were quite dense and heavy. The hash was too sour for me. The French toast was yummy. The potatoes in the bennies were unevenly cooked (some undercooked) although the eggs were perfectly cooked and tasty. The peppermint tea was tasty.
Good experience overall. Food was fantastic, and the service was pretty good as well.
Food was good, fresh and well prepared. Portions were small. The tables are close together upstairs and it can be noisy.
Great atmosphere and ambience. Our waitress was very attentive and the food was delicious. Would definitely like to go back.
Great ambience and food. We came here last year when we were in town for our daughter’s soccer tournament and had to return this year! We still love it!!
We love this restaurant and have never been anything but pleased. However, Tuesday night I ordered the kale salad topped with the tuna poke. I asked the waitress if I could get it chopped and she said it was. I don’t think it was chopped and when it was first served I thought they had forgotten to put the tuna on it. I think there were 4 tiny cubes of tuna. Other than that it was great!
The staff and ambience is are always warm and welcoming. The food is always tasty with great presentation! Good selection of drinks with consistency. The Bloody Mary is fab!
The food was excellent. The wait staff was knowledgeable about dishes and wine and made good recommendations
East Coast is reliably good, bordering on great. Sushi is some of the best in town. Entrees are superb. Highly recommend
We had fried cod, rockfish and hangar steak. Portions were modest. Rockfish and steak were good. Fried cod was the thinnest filets I’ve ever seen! A tiny strip of fish between 2 sides of fried breading. The breading wasn’t thick - the fish was just VERY thin. Almost no taste from the fish. Dessert: lava cake, gelato and banana cake. Lava cake was dry and no ‘lava’. Banana cake portion was huge, cold and quite dry. Desperately needed topping or something to add moisture - even heating would have improved it. Overall the atmosphere is very nice but the food doesn’t measure up to the price
Birthday celebration& Waters’s bought my sons dessert! Food was excellent! Repeat customers & pleased again.
One of our favorite spots in Richmond for breakfast/brunch when visiting our daughter!!
Best cosmopolitan I have ever had. Waiter was very knowledgeble, food was fantastic and wait staff was very friendly.
This was our first visit to East Coast Provisions . Our table had plenty of room for the 7 of us and we were able to have a normal conversation without yelling :) Our waiter was very attentive without being pushy ...our food was stellar!! The lobster was cooked perfectly, as was my filet. Others had mussels and rockfish and they got good reviews as well. Thank you for a great birthday dinner!
ECP has an aura to die for! It’s like firecrackers on your tastebuds that bungee jumped into an ocean of flavor and sunk to the bottom of deliciousville.
10/10 service and drink menu.
15/10 would definitely go again.
The food was great. The drinks were great. We plan to go back
Fantastic food and service
East Coast Provisions never disappoints! We have never had a bad experience.
Nice architectural style in the renovation of building. We had a great bottle of wine (sancerre) and many small starters to share. The corn/crab chowder was delicious. The waiter was helpful, but unobtrusive. I would definitely go back.
Very good service, food came quickly. Was nice eating by fire and sushi good, just expensive.
We will be back!
Favorite date night spot. Love the food, great selection of desserts and appetizers too. Love the variety of the menu and always have good service
New favorite in the RVA. Good size portions and the service is great!
All of their raw items were phenomenal. Their tuna tacos are a must order. The sushi was delicious. However, those in our party who ordered the cooked fish (rockfish and mahi) found it very adequate with mediocre sides. The Rockfish had mushrooms listed as one of the sides and it literally came with 3 tiny cut up pieces of mushroom.
Great valentines meal! Seafood was fresh and delicious! Drinks were amazing and so was dessert! Service was quick and servers were friendly and knowledgeable!
Food was fantastic, service was as well. Will definitely go back.
Scallops were excellent! The sushi and sashimi were fresh and tasty.
Everything was excellent. Menu marked well for gluten free with lots of choices.
Did not split plate when sharing. Slow service. Crab cakes were great but kale salad was not that great
Nice birthday dinner with my hubby.
First visit, had early reservations so not many patrons at that time. Waiter was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable concerning the menu. Ordered calamari for appetizer, crisp with delicious sauce, good portion size. Blackened mahi was a little salty so removed the topping and it was cooked to perfection. Would have preferred a rice pilaf to the chilled corn/bean relish, but still enjoyed the meal. A friend ordered the scallops and was impressed at their size. An enjoyable experience.
If you aren’t seated in a booth the seating is very close. It’s extremely loud. My friends ordered their fish seared and it was very much over done. Also, I’ve never been served such a tiny piece of salmon. Not sure I’d recommend this for dinner. I’ve eaten breakfast here and it was ok.
Food was pretty good. Wine pours a little skimpy. Entrees came out before appetizers were finished. Large noisy group with screaming kids kinda ruined the ambience.
The food was excellent! We enjoyed the steak and eggs - steak was cooked perfectly! The fish sandwich, and the Oyster sampler were also excellent, as was the Butterscotch pudding, made with Macallan single malt scotch. We were disappointed in the homemade donuts because they were clearly burnt - but the manager and the chef really impressed us when they not only figured out the cause of the donuts burning, but made them again and this time they were fantastic! And to top that, the manager was so very hospitable and put that order on the house. We would definitely eat here again, when we’re visiting this area the next time.
For the price, portions were on the small side for the dinner entrees our group ordered.
Food was prepared very well. Service was very good. The upstairs back room was very noisy and I had requested a table in another area but that did not happen per my reservation request.
Will be back, just constructive criticism.
We had an awesome meal for the second time at East Coast Provisions. The sushi was fresh, tasty and interesting, including our Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, and one more whose name I cannot remember. There were not a ton of vegetarian options for one guest, but she was still completely satisfied with her veggie bowl. Service was attentive and friendly, with a lively atmosphere but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. We loved it and will come back again!
