Great flavor crab cake. The charcuterie platter was tasty with prosuitto, chorizo and dolce Gorgonzola. Good times in carytown area.

Great place for lunch, with a varied, well-executed menu. Highlights included the grilled salmon salad, the burger and the avocado BLT sandwich, along with some of the best fries in Richmond.

Dined at 6pm with a family of six + a toddler. Coast was very accommodating and gave us a secluded table. Our server (Lauren) was great and perfectly attentive. We had a wide array of food. 3 of our party had hanger steak specials (perfectly rare-ish - but a little over charred on the outside) sushi rolls and fish specials, all done well (not well-done). We have gone to Coast frequently as they are accomodating of a toddler and we can make reservations/special requests on Open Table. The only downside is the prices are a bit high for the portions of fish and meat received. Always excellent service, above average food, and good value. We will be back.

Our waiter Ryan was amazing! He was informative, attentive and very nice. He spoke of the specials with ease and excitement. The food was delicious. The hearts of palm and the oysters were perfect. The lamb special was made just right as were the crab cakes. Excellent dinner and dining experience. Will return again!

Still one of Carytown's best dining spots!!!! Oysters are great and the fish, cooked any way you want it, are outstanding.

We haven't eaten there in a year and we won't be back. We ordered steak which was tough and not tasty, a big disappointment. The oysters were good --- perhaps because they required no preparation. Wish I'd given my $100 to charity.

Excellent food, drinks & service. Unfortunately, just an open design so noise & loud parties can be distracting. Would go back in a heartbeat! Bartenders upstairs in the smaller bar area were wonderful & entertaining.

Food and drinks were close to perfection. The only negative was my soup did not seem fresh it was a bit on the cold side but my server fixed that immediately. Everything else was 5 stars.

Came here to celebrate Valentine’s day and had a wonderful time. Our server was great and the food was delicious! Pricing is fairly reasonable for the quality.

We were disappointed that they had taken the 1/2 roasted chicken with healthy green veggies off the menu and replaced it with 1/2 fried chicken and high starch sides. This made my choices very limited. I had looked at he menu on the internet and it was out of date. The waitress told us they changed that about 6 months ago but had not updated the website. I was also surprised that they had no wild seafood or clean beef. Will probably make other choice in the future.

Really lovely atmosphere downstairs in the corner. Menu was really broad and had a lot to offer.

I have had good experiences here before but today was horrible. We ordered drinks and it took so long our sushi roll came and sat on our table for quite some time until we decided to just leave. We were told the bartender was also serving this day. It was Valentines Day! They should have been well staffed for such a big day.

The seating makes you feel like you’re truly dining with the people seated next to you. It’s very loud so that, coupled with close seating, doesn’t make for a pleasant dining experience. My mojito was mostly ice and very little alcohol. While the salads were good, both of our fish meals (rockfish & salmon) were bland and underwhelming. Just kinda disappointed.

We had a wonderful meal at East Coast Provisions. We were seated by the fire in the simply but beautifully decorated restaurant. The roasted rockfish was delicious and all ingredients were fresh and interestingly paired. Our service was outstanding. Highly recommend!

"Energetic" is NOT how I would describe the noise level of the upper back room Saturday night. Our party of 4 sat in the front corner table and it was almost unbearably LOUD. The large party on the other side of this small room was loud as there were many in their group, the other tables were also full. There is very little noise absorbent materials (low pile carpet only), and lots of very hard surfaces. My ears actually hurt and it was a relief to leave the building after our meal. That said, the food was goodbut I felt bad for the server as she had too much going on taking care of this room seemingly alone.

We met a family member that we had not seen in 30 years. Our waitress was EXCELLENT. The food, as always, delicious. Richmond is quite a foodie town but this is one of my main go to restaurants.

Fantastic! Food was amazing. We had mussels app as well as calamari. Both were really good. The rockfish over polenta was scrumptious and my husband had the steak- he loved the sauce with it. 3 of 4 had the banana bread dessert while I had the house doughnuts. We loved our meals from beginning to end. Server was great- attentive but not rushy- he could tell we wanted to chat and relax. He set a nice pace. We can’t wait to go back!

Very Good meal, service, ambient, but the price is too high

My wife and I had a rare date night and figured we would head down to Richmond Fredericksburg and try something different. I work in an upscale restaurant and was looking for something along those lines of quality but a slightly more relaxed environment, we found it there! We were pleasantly surprised by the menu, which while varied had a nice continuity. Instead of getting entrées we opted to make a dinner out of oysters and small plates, which really gave us a chance to enjoy the many flavors you have to offer. Our server was very knowledgeable of both the drink menu and the food. He was engaging and courteous, he definitely added to our great experience.

It's a lovely, friendly place and the ingredients seem to be top notch, but overall it was disappointing - especially given all the great options available in Richmond. The burger looked great, but it had no flavor and the fries were limp. The seared tuna salad was better, but it too missed on flavor. The dressing was bland. A very friendly waitress, with almost no one else in the restaurant, forgot to bring my hot tea until we were nearly finished with our food. If I were driving across country and happened to stop here, it would be fine. But Richmond has dozens of restaurants that hit the flavor bell much better and try harder to please.

This is a really great restaurant. The food is amazing, the atmosphere lively and the waitstaff top shelf. Now that I have discovered East Coast Provisions I will be going there a lot. I've been twice now, both experiences were exceptional (and I can be picky!)

This was our first visit here and we'll definitely be back. Loved all of the creative seafood options!

I ordered the grilled shrimp with two sides of broccoli. I received five shrimp and two huge portions of broccoli. I could have purchased the, cooked it in five minutes, all for under $10.00. This meal was no where near the price.

As part of our holiday, our party of six went to ECP, which was great because we could sample a lot of dishes. We started with the oyster sampler, ceviche and the octopus sashimi. The oysters were terrific but the sashimi was also quite nice -- delicate and not at all chewy. We also ordered the truffle fries and appreciated that they were not greasy and were served hot. We also appreciated that the horseradish was very good. We grow and process our own horseradish and we like it hot.
For the main course, we shared the grilled branzino, roasted mahi, roasted rockfish and a West Coast maki roll. We prefer our fish to be prepared in a simple way and not overwhelmed by sauces that mask the flavor and the preparation was just what we had hoped it would be. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were just right. A bit of the mahi was slightly undercooked but it was not significant as we were all getting full.

Our sever was knowledable, attentive, and professional. He knew his wines.

The atmosphere was nice and although the place was crowded. we did not have to shout to be heard. The lighting was not startling and the music was discreet.

We had a great experience at East Coast! It’s not often that you get great food and service AND can actually hear what’s being said at the table! We started with the truffle fries, which were delicious. Everyone had a fish dish, which also were delicious. I particularly enjoyed my rock fish.
