Earls Kitchen + Bar - Yaletown - Vancouver
We're regulars at Earls and the food is always well prepared. Recently tried the brunch, and it wasn't of Earls' quality. The waffles came out limp and covered in strawberry compote. It looked as though the plate had sat longer than it should have waiting for the other dishes to come up. The actual taste of the waffles was good, although about 1/3 was soaked in the compote. Ordered a side link of the breakfast sausage. It was tough and seemed over cooked. The other dishes at our table for 5 were good, so it wasn't a total failure. Just disappointed in the brunch waffle and sausage.
Had a good time Yuumy food and lovely service Fantastic Happy Hour
Wish you’d open up an Earls in White Rock South Surrey You’d do great our yhat wsy
Disappointed as we waited half an hour for our table even though we reserved for 9.30pm this didn’t give us much time to enjoy and eat and we literally had to run to skytrain at 11.50 and missed the beginning of the fireworks at midnight. It was our one year anniversary as well and my partner had come from the UK to spend time with me.
Waitress was nice and food ok. Just not what I was expecting.
Excellent customer service! Great food and ambiance. I appreciate the attention to allergies.
Not very family friendly in terms of attitude/service and lots of competition in that area for that demographic.
Overall, I enjoyed the food (the crunchy tofu zen bowl) and atmosphere was okay. It was a little on the loud side for an intimate conversation but that was expected. The experience was okay but not outstanding and this is why I wouldn't recommend Earl's. I made a reservation, but we were told the table wasn't ready. Eventually, we were told the table ahead of us ran late. Simply, keeping us in the loop would have gone a long way, but we had to keep asking. So, I think more ongoing communication would have been great. Especially since there were other open tables. I acknowledge that was a difficult situation for the hosts, but it didn't appear that anyone was thinking of other solutions and no one ever brought the Manager by to chat with us. Once we got to the table we sat and waited for several minutes for the server to arrive. The host offered us a very meek apology, but no Manager came to apologize on behalf of the restaurant once we were seated. My friends thought a drink or appy would be nice considering the delay. In this case, I think even a simple gesture of the Manager coming over to check in and apologize for the late seating would have made a huge difference in my experience. I don't know that I would make a reservation there again.
Always enjoy Earls food and service. However, this location needs a renovation and it was very cold and noisy - probably due to high ceilings
Great service, good location and everything you would expect from Earls.
Thank you to the Earl's team who was in on Saturday especially the hostess who made changes to accommodate our party of 5 with a baby! It was a last minute change and it was quite busy that day. Brunch menu was good and very friendly in price plus it taste good too!! What a deal!
Me and my client got placed at different tables even though we both gave the same reservation name (Crystal for 2 at 11:45am) it took us over 30mins to realize we were both at the restaurant but placed at different corners of the restaurant. My meeting time with them got cut in half because they had elsewhere to be and our lunch meeting was meant to be a very valuable hour and 15 mins long.
After work meet up with colleagues. An easy to find location. The food was delicious, particularly the Korean rice dish and sushi roll. Happy hour drinks, reasonable and the happy appy's are delish. Love this place and will go back for the drinks and food.
Absolutely wonderful service! Kyra was an amazing server, we felt so special - a truly great experience!
It was a good evening out .
It was our 32 year anniversary dinner .
Which was mentioned . Would have been nice to acknowledge that somehow .
But we never expect anything from restaraunts .
Service was good .
We booked last minute , so nice to be able to get seated right away .
I got to the restaurant 15 minutes early for my reso and told the hostess that I had a reservation from open table under my name and got seated. A couple hours later I got an email from open table saying that I missed the reservation. I was still at the restaurant so I went up to the hostess (a different girl) and told her what had happened and she said that it’s my fault because I didn’t tell the hostess that I had a reservation WHICH I ABSOLUTELY DID and I told her that, to which she says “well what do you want me to do about it?” I was shocked, hello?? OBVIOUSLY I want my points!?!? She was so rude and gave me attitude the entire time, huffed and puffed and gave me so much sass before confirming my reso for the points. I don’t understand, first of all, it’s not my fault AT ALL, secondly, it’s not like it’s costing her anything so what’s with the attitude? Just do your job and go.
Good food group of drinks
WE WERE SEATED IN A VERY PLEASANT AREA WITH A LOW NOISE LEVEL WHICH WORKED VERY WELL FOR US. THE WAITRESS DID A GREAT JOB LOOKING AFTER THE 8 OF US. VERY HELPFUL & FRIENDLY. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD & THE WINE TOO. WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN & RECOMMEND.
Good food. Lots of selection. Music very loud, difficult to talk to friends seated at same table.
Earls Kitchen + Bar - Yaletown - Vancouver was great the food, atmosphere, our server, etc was on point. They have a really good happy hour menu and it is great for kids and teens.
Perfect for everyday and special events.
It wasn’t good.
No server for 30 mins
No water for 30 (asked 2x)
One dinner missed entirely (another 30 mins)
Our bottle of wine showed up decanted (box wine?)
Dinner arrived 90 min after ordering on a Monday night.
HVAC system was dripping on our 9 year old, no table move...
Absent server (nice guy though)
Inexperienced 22 year old manager (nice guy though)
Little done with bill...
(We’ve all been in restaurants where things go sideways. But to end up with $270 bill after all that... four adults, four kids) shameful for a branded multi location brand like Earls.
Wrote the restaurant but I’ve not heard back either.
Earls Yaletown is a consistently good choice for after work drinks or for special occasions. My wife is on a vegan diet and I am not and Earls provides us both with great choices.
Great brunch, great service and great atmosphere! We will definitely go back.
Great happy hour breakfast menu! Value for money
Overall, things were good here. The food was tasty, service above average, and you can’t beat their happy hour brunch.
A few small issues. Tried to make a phone reservation, but was told they were full for Mother’s Day. Checked for reservations at restaurants near us on OpenTable, and, surprise surprise, Earl’s Yaletown has space online. Go figure... Next thing- they call to confirm a day before, but they tell us to come early because they’ll be so busy. We get there a half hour early, and there are empty tables around us the whole time we’re there.
We had a young child with us who ordered waffles. Guess what - Earl’s doesn’t even make their own waffles, and they ran out. We had a very disappointed 6 year old who ended up eating sides of bacon and garlic fries for brunch. The manager tried to smooth things over with the little one by bringing her a strawberry slushie (and a second one after she spilled the first one), so points for him for trying.
One last thing - they always overcook their eggs. I forgot to ask for my yolks runny, which they really should be without asking.
I came here on Saturday with my family (group of 8 plus a baby) for the Earls happy hour brunch. This was my second time here and I was not disappointed! I ordered the eggs benny; it was unique in that it came out on a baguette, and not your typical english muffin. I really liked the twist. The side of hash was super delicious too -- extra crispy which I love! Our server, in particular, was fantastic. She was super accommodating and readily checked up on us. Definitely one of the better service experiences that I've had at this Earls location. Would definitely recommend.
We'd requested a patio reservation and didn't get one. I don't mind that the reservation didn't happen, but I would've preferred to have been notified that it wasn't possible; rather than just letting us walk in and find out we were seated in the dining area.
Tasty, and good quality food. Def a place to stop for lunch in Yaletown.
We love coming here for brunch! All of their items are delicious! I recommend their Avocado Super Brunch or their Chorizo and Mushroom Hash!
It was good
Great atmosphere and staff very friendly and efficient...highly recommended for good value meal.
Earls has become our go to brunch spot with their new Brunch Happy Hour. We like to arrive early and enjoy a relaxed meal in under 45 minutes if we wish. We bring our 7 year old and he always has a great time too!
Service excellent. We shared a calamari appetizer - nothing special and no better or worse than you can get in any other restaurant. My partner had the classic rib rack which he loved. I had the relatively new mussels entree. The presentation of the mussel dish, in an enamel pot atop a wooden board adorned with delicious toast, although striking, made it an entirely impractical dish to consume. The pot, about 15-20 cm high by about 18 cm diameter was only about 30% filled with the mussels and accompanying sauce. The quantity was sufficient but it was far too awkward to fish out the mussels from the depths of the container and detach them from their shells, especially since the only cutlery provided was knife, fork and a long ladle. I had to request a regular spoon to help make it easier. Although the presentation looks pretty good and unique, the mussels should just have been served, as they normally are, in a wide and shallow soup plate; that way they would have been easier to consume. Apart from the saltiness of the dish, I would not order this dish again, just because of how awkward it was to eat!
My partner had just water and I had a Parallel 49 draught lager which, for a craft brewery, was quite uninspiring.
The restaurant is too noisy for us at our ages but we did ask to be seated in a quiet area which went some way to mitigating the ambient noise coming from patrons and several TVs which were showing excerpts from the winter Olympic games.
We were a large group - 17. The waitress was on top of everything. All food came out in a timely manner. Food was great.
A great spot for brunch, I'm really glad they added a brunch menu! We sat in their lounge which was quite comfortable. Our server was cheery and attentive too, which was nice. The music was a little loud for a nearly empty restaurant early Sunday morning. We mentioned this to our server and she gladly turned it down , which was greatly appreciated.
Their $8 brunch before noon is an awesome deal, we will definitely be back again!
Excellent. OpenTable said my review is too short(that’s what she said) so I am writing this. Cheers.
Great waitress! So nice! She took several pictures of us always with a great attitude! Thank you!
Our server was awesome! We were originally supposed to be a party of 10 but when it went down to 6, she accommodated right away. She was super attentive and friendly.
Was ok. Couple of our meals were cold but we just asked them to warm them up. Food was nice. Service was good.
Lunch with co-worker. Really enjoyed warm Kale salad. Unfortunately, seated right beside a group of 14 persons so noise level for conversation was a bit too loud. Otherwise good neighbourhood spot with excellent variation in menu offerings.
