Earls Kitchen + Bar - Yaletown - Vancouver
Brunch, took quite awhile before our food came
Was overpriced, not good service, decent enough food and location.
Not a great dining experience- every time we visit to this location, we notice the service and food quality is not great as it was used to be. Always waiting for servers to come by and to be checked on, always waiting for food to come that is served too late. Not recommended.
The brunch quality is very low. The egg Benny is on a toast and the eggs were not soft at all. Not recommend for brunch
Restaurant was under staffed, waited an extra 20 mins for my reservation. Servers and staff were very nice. Food was mediocre.
Just a happy hour day before the Mumford and Son concert. Great food and happy hour prices. And scan and pay is great.
There was a party next to us that milled around visiting and it was a bit disruptive. Our server was Fabulous and the food was ok. I will Choi’s different options next time as I know there are many great items on the menu.
One of the best happy hours in the city. They also have a barcode you can scan and pay via mobile instead of waiting for a server if it's busy!
We showed up to our reservation for 8pm and the table wasnt ready - we waited 20 minutes until I checked back in and it was fully setup but they hadn't come and told us. We then got a table for 8 which was a table for 6 with one chair pulled up. Our service was okay nothing to remember - best part was the new paying system through the website as our server didnt come back to get payment so we paid and left.
We visit the Bellevue Earls on a weekly basis. We are W Van residents and decided to visit the Yaletown location.
It was Canada Day and the restaurant was filled with multi-generation families. I was there with my family and my parents. I am 40 and my parents are in their 70's. Our party was 10 people and we were there for lunch. Earls had a DJ playing house and pop music at an alarming volume. We could not hear each other, in fact, it was impossible to speak due to the thumping of the base. I made several requests to our server to have the music turned down. She conceded and each time the music was turned to a normal volume for apx 5 minutes. Thereafter it was made loud again.
I complained to the manger, a young man, who told me that I needed to think about the other guests. I told him to look around, the other guests were families. We were enjoying Canada Day lunch, not attending a rave. His attitude was rude and unprofessional. We swiftly ate our meal and left. We will not be going back. Earls should disclose on their website where/when each applicable location that has a DJ. We would never have attended had we known.
My husband and I were going to the ELO concert at Rogers we were late for reservations but we were still taken in, which was awesome I wasn’t looking forward to eating at Rogers, so happy Earls could accommodate!
I was there for dinner while watching Raptors game . Great food, good service!
On a lunch break, I appreciate the food came out quickly. 😊
It was loud because it was game two for the Raptors.
The food was great - as I've come to expect from Earl's.
Our server was wonderful! My guests are all in their 80s and she was patient and helpful with each if them (thank you).
We celebrated a birthday with a party of eight. Our server was great. She was friendly and attentive and respected our time. Everyone's meal was hot and served at the same time and thoroughly enjoyed. Only disappointment was that they removed the chili chicken from the menu to make room for their summer items. Big disappointment for four of us but the other choices made were good. Music and surrounding noise was moderate but we were still able to converse with no issue. Overall great venue for our celebration.
Only down side is too noisy, everything else is good! Def rec!
We were celebrating birthday. The food was delicious and the brownie tasted very good. However, the dishes came altogether, the soup, the salad, the appetizer, and our steak. The table was hardly to fit all the dishes at a time. And when we started to taste the steak, it was already cold and disappointed.
It was extremely busy that night so we waited around 25 minutes for our drinks. The manager came to apologize and offered us free shots. The food was great, service was fine just sloooooow !!!
Food spices very overdone, mentioned to server but she did not really try to address.
After the server brought the bill, instead of waiting for us to pay, she decided to take orders for the neighbour table of 14, hardly believable.
Server seemed overly busy which caused our drinks to take 20 mins to arrive after ordering. It was said the drinks were delivered to the wrong table. Food arrived incorrect- i.e. Rice vs Noodles. Server did apologize and offer to make right. Overall, not the greatest experience this time, but I've always had good experiences at Earls that this is likely an exception rather than the rule.
Food was pretty cold and really disappointing. Eggs overcooked. I get that it was Happy Hour and Mother's Day but overall a big disappointment. We did not complain at the time as it was Mother's Day
Food was very good! Service was very slow! But they appeared to be under-staffed. Our server was working very hard on a large section serving, and clearing and setting tables. They must not have had a buser working.
Birthday dinner and our server was great!!!
Amazing staff service, very friendly
It was absolutely a good experience! Awesome food and drinks, nice service! I like my Earls experience, always a good to go!
Waitress was great. Checked on us regularly. Got the orders right!
waiter was excellent. The atio was busy vit he was always checking ti.see all was well. Food was hot which was also a plus.
Perfect after work dinner on a sunny afternoon!
Went for the happy hour. Had the ahi tuna poke bowl and it was delicious! Also tried the garlic fries, they were yummy but quite greasy. Will go back again!
I've never done this before, but I had to say something and whats a manager going to do other then say sorry.
We frequent Earls Yaletown a lot, we have our weekly "afternoon meeting" there and take a lot of our clients there and lets be honest they have a great happy hour.
With that being said the past couple of times we have had absolutely horrible service. We always go mid-week and it was was fairly quiet in comparison to other times. I had met others who got their before me and I waited 15 minutes before our waiter even acknowledged my arrival. I ordered a drink which took forever to arrive and it was the wrong one. He did however fix it right away. Then we ordered some appies and mains and everything came out at the same time. When things arrived we mentioned that we ordered appies first and mains were to come later for the food runner to say "oh are you ok with just taking it now as its already up"...what do you say to that other then ok.
It was shortly before 6 and we all wanted another round of drinks, our server was no where to be found so I got up and ordered straight at the bar otherwise we would miss the happy hour cut off. Our server came around at 6:15pm and said he was doing last call for happy hour...happy hour ends at 6 and they are always very strict about this so this came as a surprise.
When we were done he came around and took our plates away and said he would bring the bill without offering us dessert or more drinks. We always share desserts, but we took it as a sign and just paid the bill and left. Not one to complain but this has happened 3 times now that service was just so poor, drinks are great, food is great, happy hour is the best. But at the end of the day if its not a good time and we aren't paid attention to we aren't going back. If service was like this when we had clients with us I would be mortified. We have picked a new spot for our weekly "afternoon meeting" which is a shame.
Amazing happy hour, would definitely come back!
The waitress was kinda rude and blamed her manager multiple times for “forgetting” to place our orders
We've brought down several clients over the last few weeks and they have all enjoyed the restaurant!
Typical of that genre. Busy, noisy. Food so so , and service “meh”. You go because it has a menu that caters to a mix of diets and you have a group with varying food tastes - from burgers to poke bowls
Come here several times a week, love the place
Poke bowl was awesome. It was fresh and tasty, best I had so far.
They need more hospitable people at the entrance. The manager was great and the server were great and they made up for the attitude from the girl at the front door.
We're regulars at Earls and the food is always well prepared. Recently tried the brunch, and it wasn't of Earls' quality. The waffles came out limp and covered in strawberry compote. It looked as though the plate had sat longer than it should have waiting for the other dishes to come up. The actual taste of the waffles was good, although about 1/3 was soaked in the compote. Ordered a side link of the breakfast sausage. It was tough and seemed over cooked. The other dishes at our table for 5 were good, so it wasn't a total failure. Just disappointed in the brunch waffle and sausage.
That you have a plant based menu makes Earls a great choice for our team lunches. I eat a vegan diet but my colleagues do not. Earls menu means we can all find something we like to eat! Staff are always chirpy too!
