Earls Kitchen + Bar - Vernon
Upon arrival the hostesses were prepared for us and ready to welcome us. Our server forgot about us on the patio and after 15 minutes of waiting, and after requesting the hostess locate our server, she finally appeared. She then wrote down our order in error, then confirmed again and we still received the wrong items. She did not return to check on us until our meals were completed.
We booked an outside table, it was too hot but the staff were very accommodating and moved us inside. The tables and physical distancing was great, the server (Jesse, he was wonderful) wore a mask and everything went well. I'd go back in a second.
We made a reservation for “the deck” and were seated by very friendly servers at a low table adjacent to the Vernon highway. Not a deck at all but an inclosed, casual room with the temperature of a sauna. The noise was so great that we could not have a conversation therefore we ordered drinks and left without ordering food. We moved to a dinner venue with outside seating with a noise appropriate ambiance. Very dissatisfied and will not return.
Haven't been in awhile and worth waiting for, food was great and glad I made a reservation, was busy which was good to see. Will be back. Server was great too.
Very nice. Good value, well rounded menu, nothing too overly complex or pretentious, prices very reasonable, nice subtle lighting levels, sound level low thank god, could actually hear companions which is good even as the restaurant was 2/3 full. Booth was comfy and cosy.
Been to Earl’s many times, but first time to this location. Great service. Friendly staff. Casual, comfortable and a menu that offers both plant-based and meat-lovers options.
Decent Happy Hour pricing. Just make sure you check your bill as a drink item was charged at regular price.
Decent environment. Well-organized and interesting menu. Excellent service. Very good food. Half-price wine that evening!
We were dining in the Vernon Earls with family. My youngest daughter received her burger about 10 minutes later than the rest of our meals so we were all eating while sat there waiting. Unimpressive.
When it finally arrived, she bit into it and discovered it had mustard on it. She had specifically requested to have nothing but mayonnaise on it. I told our server and she apologized and took it back to the kitchen in order to get her a new burger.
Again we waited an unusually long time. When what we assumed was a new burger came back to the table, my daughter took a bite just as I noticed that it had a bite out of it already. They had returned the exact same burger! She opened it up and the cook had clearly tried to scrape off the mustard from the bun as we could still see it.
Absolutely disgusting. Someone had manhandled my daughter’s food and then returned it to her. We again told the server, who was just as horrified, and she took it away and ordered her a new burger. By this time, the rest of us had finished eating so that when my daughter finally got a fresh burger, she ate alone.
I wanted to make a complaint to the manager at the time but did not want to make everyone more uncomfortable so decided to deal with it afterwards. When i told my husband what had happened later, he was furious and phoned Earls himself.
The manager he spoke to didn’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation and had his supervisor call my husband back. She also did not seem to grasp how incredibly unprofessional, unsafe and disgusting the incident was. Both managers were young and did not display the appropriate level of concern for what had happened. The response was they would look into it further.
We will never eat at Earls again. We live in Victoria and were visiting family at the time and have often taken our family to Earls while in the Vernon area. This incident put a very negative spin on our trip, especially as it happened during Covid.
Maybe unfair to compare, since we LOVE Earl's Kelowna. But if you're in Vernon, the food is great and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Easy to find as it is basically on the highway. And if you have the chance, check out Earl's Kelowna, same great food and outstanding ambiance. Also, better birthday dessert; sometimes its the little things.
Front desk acknowledged our reservation for patio told us stand off to the side (a problem occurred with booking? maybe?) and didn’t tell us anything for about five-ish minutes then sat us in the dining room without giving a reason for relocating. Slow table turnover, sanitation processes don’t seem to be at the forefront of duties in house and lack of communication between staff and guests. I think it’s just best to drive the extra hour to go to the Kelowna location or go to a local spot.
Have never been to this location before, very nice inside, should've moved in there after we experienced logging, gravel and semi trucks roaring past the restaurant, quite the experience!
The food was good, the ribs were quite greasy but the pizza, cold beer and margarita -excellent.
We would eat here again and I would recommend it to friends, I would just eat inside and tell my friends to also.
Food was good and our waiter was perfect! Definitely recommended.
It was nice to be able to go back after 3 months of staying at home, this time for lunch. Started with a warm welcome at the door and our server came always at the exact right time. The staff we saw were all wearing a face mask. Food quality was as good as I remembered. We will be back for sure.. did someone say, happy hour?
My husband and I both has the ribs with the warm potato salad with smoky bacon. The ribs were by far the best I have had in years - cooked perfect - falling of the bones with lots of nice thick sauce. The warm potato salad - well what can I say - I absolutely loved it - is to die for. The service was great - very attentive with waiter check from a distance and then timing his arrival to the table. Will definitely coming again!
Food , service was excellent
Earls never disappoints. The food is always hot, and delicious. The service is always friendly, and welcoming, and attentive.
Welcoming atmosphere, energetic and knowledgeable server. Drinks and dinner arriving to table at the perfect time.
We have dined at this Earl's on many occasions in the past and we often disappointed. This last time everything was perfect!!! We will definitely make this a new favorite!! Keep up the great work on all levels. We're excited to go back!
Everything was ready and food was great!!
We were discouraged when attending Earls, as we made reservations. Upon arriving at Earls we were escorted to the bar for our table. Being the Super Bowl ... this made our table area very noisy, that being said, I would recommend having your staff ask where the customer would prefer to be seated. I had to request a different table. Once we were seated the server was wonderful and accommodating (Top rate)
The food was very good and came to the table hot and timed quite nicely as we had several courses.
Top rate restaurant
We had a friendly young waitress who may have been new at the job but a few things were messed up. My wife ordered a Moscow Mule that contains vodka and ginger beer. The drink came back with vodka and ginger ale-quite a diffrent taste. When we asked the waitress about it she asked the bartender and he/she said that there was no ginger beer and they replaced it with ginger ale. Anyway the waitress offered to replace it with another drink but my wife declined. The meal itself was tasty.
Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Would like to see a few more sandwiches wraps on lunch menu
Our waiter Ben was excellent he was prompt, personable, friendly and helpful. The calamari was excellent, my clam chowder outstanding and piping hot. My husbands steak was tough and chewy not good quality
We let Ben know this and he checked with the manager and that dinner was reduced in price.
Our server was especially helpful. Being early afternoon the restaurant was fairly quiet which was good so we could visit. The dessert (sticky pudding) was beautiful to look at and amazing to taste; plus, enough for 3 or 4.
The calamari appie was A1- very tasty and delicious. My roast salmon was dry, overdone with congealed sauce on top. Sent the asparagus back it was tough, overdone , cold and inedible and unappealing . The rice was very dry, clumpy, cold and tasteless it reminded me of left over rice that was days old and a bad fry reheat was done to try and revive it. The waitress was great in the fact she took the plate back and I was brought more asparagus which as least was warm. My husbands steak was not medium rare as requested but it had good flavour. The waitress adjusted our bill and did not charge us for the salmon.
Will not be recommending Earls as a fine dining experience.
Little noisey.Great food and service was wonderful.
Ordered steak medium-rare. It was done medium-well to well. Tough, luke-warm and not tasty. Asparagus was extremely over-cooked as well. I was with my husband on a date so did not want to complain in front of him. But worst meal I have ever had at Earls. Hadn't been for about a year, and don't think I will go again.
Very friendly welcome and great efficient service. When I need a special place to dine out, it is Earl's.
Excellent meal the waitress was friendly she did a fantastic job.
We had ordered a couple of apples chicken wings and pork ribs I was really enjoying them when I bit down on part of the rib bone and unfortunately broke my front bridge, so needless to say the meal was fantastic but I would have enjoyed it more without the broken bridge.
Excellent in everything
Background noise is a problem for conversations during the meal
An enjoyable evening. Had written that we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation, but no mention was made when we arrived. Got our drinks quickly, but then waited a long time for our server to take our food order . . . had to flag her down to take our order.
Other than that, everything was fine.
We had a reservation that they mistakenly gave away to another party. We were told to “take a seat” no apology and hostess was quite rude about it. Told we missed happy hour deadline by the hostess who had little empathy, no smiles, and who said” there’s nothing I can do”. Had to wait for quite some time for the children’s meal which we ordered first which was frustrating. Food was mediocre . Server was friendly and did her best. Not the best Fathers Day family event we were hoping for. We won’t be back.
The food and service were great. Having booked a birthday reservation for 5 people, I was disappointed that we received a table for 4 with a 5th chair stuck on the end.
We visited Earls on Mother's Day. The staff were very pleasant and courteous. The food, on the other hand, was disappointing. The cajun chicken was too hot to enjoy, and we like spicy foods. The prices were very high for the quality of food and drink.
The food was excellent, the service was quick. The staff was friendly and they looked after our dietary and allergy requirements easily.
I like the new menu a lot better and the wine list is better too. We were sitting in the area where the outside patio was, all cover in now, but found it still cold. Thats the only thing that was wrong
Why is it that when one reserves a table one is always given the worst table even when the restaurant is empty?
Can you please suggest that reservations get the best tables first. Maybe a policy?
I have the chicken tenders for an appointment and they were very rubbery, no flavor. One would have thought they were cod. I don't like to send food back when I have guests with me😣
