Amazing! Delicious! Service A+
Just average. Acceptable but nothing special.
Excellent service, food, and drinks! Will definitely be back :)
Great staff. Made it easy to review my COVID card and took me to a table after I requested standard seat. Menu as many choices and service was excellent.
Great food, friendly service and an overall good experience - will definitely be coming back soon.
Great food. Great service. I would definitely come back
Appy and steak everything else either cold, oily or an over cooked burger. Aka crunch burger,
A great place for happy hour with your friends and family. Great service too!
Great food. Excellent service .
Experience was great. Earls has got rid of a few of our fave menu items (dry ribs/fish tacos) so that will change our restaurant choice sometimes as my hubby is picky. Lol
Prices also getting a bit high but overall always enjoybearls.
We arrived at 11:30 to have brunch. Placed orders at 11:35; the waitress said they didn't offer brunch. However, on the menu, brunch is available until noon. Pity!!
Good happy hour; great value. Tuesday's are great for all day 1/2 price bottles of wine.
The place is lively and fun. We tried the new item on the menu crab melted cheddar dip. It was a crowd pleaser! Cocktails are excellent! Food was also delicious. We would come back to dine again next time we’re in Vancouver.
The service is very good, the servers came back multiple time to check up on us. Make sure we had water refilled when glasses were empty. Food is very good, especially the truffle fries. Highly recommend this restaurant for a nice hangout or a date. The restaurant ambiance is perfect and nice decor
Consistently good service and food
I loved my dish and the non-alcohol drink. I was also impressed when the wine that I ordered with dinner came pretty close to same time my dinner arrived.
Always consistently great 😀
Never fails to impress! I'm always here because it's accessible near my place. Always my go-to restaurant.
Always a great experience. High top tables are a bit tricky for seating, and no place or hooks to hang a purse. A little annoying. Happy hour has great deals and wide variety. some of the regular prices, especially for wines, are a bit high. Not out of the ordinary
Unfortunately our server was not great. We ordered 2 appetizers for the table as well as meals for afterwards but everything arrived at the same time. One person I was dining with ordered a green salad with no cheese and instead was brought a ceasar salad with a lot of cheese. She was very slow overall.
I had a rose sangria which was 3/4 drank and the server reached all the way across the table and took it from me and asked for another one. I politely asked that I have it back as it wasn't finished yet and I didn't plan on having another one after. This is not OK - it's not a refillable iced tea and the drink was no where near the end of the table which would indicate it could be taken.
I had the crab cakes with a ceasar salad. There was a hair in my ceasar salad however I decided not to say anything as I was already irritated by the entire dining experience and also had lots of other things to eat since the appetizers where there all together.
I used to be a server so I'm aware that things happen, but this was mainly a result of a bad server. I won't be returning for awhile.
Not impressed with the food
Service staff was excellent but it took a long time to get our table. The communication could have been better for us to know that they were still working on it.
We arrived at 10:55 and our table wasn’t quite ready yet. Once we were seated the lounge was in a panic constantly moving tables and getting set.
Our coffees were never topped up, but the food came out quickly.
This is absolutely a find with international tastes. I took my dad and business partners there, one is more vegan, my dad is a meat eater and I'm a prescatarianish... and we are all happy.
We got a delicious tofu tacos, half oysters, some ribs, a tofu entree and crab cakes. None has disappointed.
There's something for everyone at Earl's Test Kitchen.
Service was great! Sraff was friendly. I had ordered the wrong dish for my friend and although we decided to not send it back, we were sent over a complimentary side dish. It wasn't even the their mistake, it was mine!
I arrived early as it was busy with the Thursday night summer crowd. They ask if I mind switching to a high table. I say fine. Then I'm made to wait twice "while we clear your table". Fair enough, but if the table isn't ready by the actual reservation time, then something is amiss. Another 5 minutes roll by and someone that's arrived after me is seated. I finally am brought to my seat, and there are actually a few empty tables. Why was I made to wait? I mention I am ready to order, thinking this "hostess" is able to take it. She then says she'll have my server come over. Great service from that point on. I don't know why you have 3 bimbos at the door when they clearly can't handle a normal business evening. Strolling around with ipads when they have little to no clue what they're doing. Maybe they weren't idiots, and I was just disrespected because I was dining alone. You decide. I also mentioned in this app that I would be eating quickly as I had a movie next door to see so opentable really shouldn't have that option if it's just ignored.
For the first time, I was asked to pay for a refill for pop. I found out when the bill was presented. It’s a small thing but it would have been good service to inform me about the charge beforehand. $8.50 is an awful lot to pay for four glasses of pop!
Very good restaurant, I recommend without hesitation.
Our server was Ashley and she was amazing! Definitely made the experience a lot better
This restaurant was recommended to my Mom and I who were coming down to Vancouver overnight from Abbotsford. When we arrived, we were seated right away, but then we had to wait a little before our server came over. Other servers would pass by without even a smile which surprised me. When our server finally came over, she was wonderful and attended to our every need. It was a little loud in the restaurant with the music, but we managed. We ordered a steak dinner which came cold and not cooked well enough. Our waitress took both meals back right away and she said that the chef agreed that the meals were not acceptable. We were given two new meals that were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the rest of our evening.
Meeting an old friend
The music can be a bit too loud, I wish they can tone it down a bit
Vegan options aren’t that great. We had the burger and the bread was so dense it was like eating a brick. We also had the Mother Earth bowl and
Ordered 6oz steak frites from the happy hour menu ($20) and the waitor asked "6oz sirloin, 9oz something or 6oz fillet?" to which I said fillet and that was that. Wasn't told that it wasn't part of the happy hour menu until the bill arrived. Felt pretty underhanded but nothing I could say really. You should really tell people it's not on the happy hour menu when they order.. its standard practice to highlight "oh BTW that's not on the happy hour menu/there's a supplement"
Food had little flavor
Over the last few years, Earl's has evolved into one of the best lunch and dinner venues in the city. Keep up the great work!
I also like the consistency displayed in all your locations. I frequent your Ambleside location as it is close to home.
The food was excellent. Cheesy Crab dip was great, not spicy. You can taste and see the crab. Crab cakes entree was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Chicken tacos had a bit of a kick, but very tasty, seafood ravioli was covered with seafood. Lattees were delicious along with the cheesecake. Service was excellent at this location.
Server was only on her 4th shift and I thought she did a great job.
It was a good meal. The restaurant was fairly business which probably explains why we didn’t see our server that much but all was well.
