Earls Kitchen + Bar - Test Kitchen - Vancouver
Too loud. Slow service and not totally booked. Very good food. I’d go back.
My daughter’s birthday
Terrific value in a great environment. Food creative(had ricotta pancakes) and wait staff was fabulous.
Our table for 6 was very tight and we had someone join us unexpectedly. Management kindly moved us to a larger table with no fuss. Although service wasn't great we understood as our server was relatively new to her position. Other team members stepped up to help when necessary.
Great veg/vegan options
Sorry to see your beef short rib pasta going, however I understand that you need new menu items :)
While on vacation in Vancouver my husband and I had seen Earls Test Kitchen and wanted to try it. I made reservations for a late lunch and I’m glad I did. The location was near where we were staying and we arrived a little early. We were seated promptly and our waitress was really nice and helpful. I ordered the surf and turf (filet and lobster tail) and my husband had the chicken Alfredo with blackened chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection, steak medium, lobster not over cooked, pasta not drowning in sauce. For desert we ordered the blackberry peach cobbler with ice cream. I’m not an ice cream eater but this stuff was great! The cobbler was very good as well, not that I got much (my husband kind of took over). The entire dining experience was excellent and the wine was nice too. Very pleased
Innovative menu, lots of variety, options for most dietary preferences. Enjoyed our meal greatly. Just a little loud.
Just tried the beef short rib pasta for the first time, so delicious!!!
Overall exceptional food and service. Very pleased.
The food was very good, and very tasty. The place is very nice and the service was great. We enjoyed our evening
This place was close to our hotel, took reservations, and was listed as casual, and given how tired and hungry we were after traveling all day, that all fit the bill. My first Canadian meal was street chicken tacos, fries, and a glass of wine. It was all flipping delicious.
Seriously, those fries were PERFECT, the chicken tacos were simple and tasty, and my wine was a Quails' Gate Chenin Blanc. I was SO happy to discover that apparently Chenin Blanc is a BC varietal! It's one of my favorites but I don't often find it in CA. Definitely a good spot to eat!
A little bit salty
Good atmosphere food very average. Happy hour is decent value for money. Tasting menu is expensive considering it's trial run menu. Was a bit noisy to maintain conversation if music was turned down just a few notches. Was nice clean and staff were Attentive. We went for food and drink before cinema so just quick stop. Would go back but hope food variety and quality improves
We always love how Earls allows splitting full plate orders and still serves them very decently. The ribs and cajun chicken was sumptuous.
Out of town friends
Really appreciated being able to make a reservation for 10 people without having to have a set menu and a set spend per person. The high top tables in the bar area was perfect. The happy hour and 1/2 priced wine bottles on Tuesday made the whole expense for a large group very affordable. Very happy with the experience.
Business lunch - good service, prompt, good food.
Not all Earl's are created equal.
I was very pleased today after other not so positive experiences at other locations.
The food, venue and service at the table was excellent. We had a reservation for 10pm but where not seated until 10.25pm and had to constantly ask for our table rather than being updated with the delay which was very disappointing.
Mediocre experience, however we asked to have the tables separated and whoever was asked about this allegedly responded “this is how it’s going to be” and refused to separate the tables. It’s a simple question and ask, there was space beside us and we no longer needed the extra tables. The server was nice however.
A bit too loud for a business dinner but it was a nice upbeat atmosphere if you were out with friends.
Would always recommend this place! My first choice when dining out for casual fare and Happy Hour!
Excellent food and really good service. The staff were very friendly and the service was very efficient, with the food coming out quickly despite it being really busy.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Earls. It didn’t hurt that we were there for 50% off Tuesday - 50% off any bottle of wine!! Our server was very attentive and helpful. The food delicious and one of the best wines we’ve had in BC. The environment was energetic but not too loud and in a good location for us. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience.
Too much of a sports type bar for me. Very loud!!
Great food, great waitstaff and decor. Although a “chain” of sorts, I would totally go again. Everything we had was wonderful!
Returned here for a second visit on our Vancouver visit. Food was very good and service efficient. Would return again. Only negative point was steak was a little highly seasoned for my taste but was cooked to perfection so didn’t complain.
Great service and food.
Great burger, excellent pizza. Good wine. The best part? The blackberry peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Plenty for two...and we still fought over it!
Very good , food was amazing , server was really nice
We all enjoyed our food and cocktails. Reasonably priced, good atmosphere and good selection of foods.
Noise level too high - customers had to shout to be heard over the music
Had a great dinner experience there.
really noisy....the music could be less intrusive....too much bass.
The food was sincerely great ; as it always is at Earls, and it was fun to try new things (that white truffle burrata garlic bread was divine). That being said, we were seated in an awkward corner of the bar area and were somewhat neglected. Toward the end of our meal, we had a server change and the second server was much better about seeking us out to make sure we were ok! If you go, make sure you get a good seat for an optimal experience!
Always love coming here for happy hour ! Great for pre movie snacks and drinks!
Yes, depending on the night. On that Thursday, our party of six hoped for an evening with lots of quiet conversation. That was not possible on that particular evening. A large group of about 20 was very loud. The group was allowed to stand and wander about, adding to the noise and distraction. Perhaps if they had all been seated the noise level might have been modulated.
Server was terrific - very pleasant and helpful. Food was good - nice variety of options. Kind of a clubby vibe and music loud
I loved the variety on the menu! The entrees looked great but you could make a meal on the appetizers. Or burgers were outstanding. And although the place was lively you could still hear yourself think.
For the first time dining at any Earl’s that I have been at in the past, I found the level of the music tolerable and could actually hear my friend speaking! Keep it up!
