The restaurant had a good atmosphere, quiet while not feeling dead. The waitress did not seem interested in good service, or happy to be there. I felt bad ordering from her, it seemed like I was putting quite the burden on her. Probably caught her near the end of her shift. I ordered a 9oz sirloin steak, rare. It came medium on the ends, a near medium, but medium-rare middle and a char on the outside. The ends of the steak were dry and tough, with a burnt flavour. The middle was a bit better, being more tender and juicier and less burnt. Wish I had sent the steak back but I didn't have the courage to ask my apathetic waitress. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was good, so were the appetizer garlic fries. My girlfriend got a poke bowl and said it was good.
TL;DR: Earls can't make a good steak and don't go near closing otherwise the service will be poor.
Great food! Loved the half Price wine/Prosecco!
The food and service was great
I was not impressed with the price of my drink. I asked for a tall glass for the watermelon slushie and the amount I received seemed like a shooter not a drink. I did not want more alcohol just the slushie juice. If it's a premix I would have ordered something else.the poke bowl was fine but not great. it was really crowded.i am surprised at how crowded it was. With Covid it should not have been packed. Overall Not impressed.the service was not bad but took a long time to take our order.
Waitress and managers were all very nice and helpful.
The food was all cold. We sent one item back so had to wait for new meal. When it did arrive, the meal was good.
An enjoyable eve - the food, service and overall experience was positive.
I think they are generally fine and the food was good but we were seated and then no one even glanced at us for 25 minutes. Finally i flaged someone down and told them we hadn't even been offered water, she fetched our server who then took another 5 minutes to come over. She didn't even apologize, just said "of they told me you've been here 3 minutes". She was overall a terrible server as well, unfriendly, unapologetic, inattentive.
I felt they were doing a very poor job of providing a safe environment eating out during Covid. Felt like they had crammed in as many people as possible. Rather than trying to spread them out a bit to feel safe.
Food was delicious great service. Very packed in the restaurant though. The manager kept coming over to chat and joke with a table of 5 or 6 that were clearly not from the same household and were seated beside us. Not what we expected given the pandemic. Next time we will order take out instead.
Very good service and food is always good. Very safe.
Excellent service and tasty food!
My husband and I had a lovely night out with appies and cocktails and then dinner. We went mid-week and I would suggest that is best if you don't want noise or too many people. It was busy enough for us - last time we went out was in November so because of the pandemic we were nervous but it was well done and plexi glass between tables/booths. We both enjoyed our food and service.
Everything was great but after we were done our meals and drinks the waitress seemed to have disappeared. We had to ask another waitress for our bill then our actual waitress finally came back with it but also had two extra glasses of wine that we didn’t order. But the food was incredible!
Remember to not ask servers for a suggestion for a glass of wine with your meal. They will send you a $25 GLASS of wine each, without disclosing the price (could have had a bottle for $50), not to mention it was happy hour, so the house special could have easily been suggested. Management didn't care in the least, nor value any polite feedback.
Will definitely support the local restaurants independently owned and operated rather than deep pocket chains like Earls which clearly did not value a long time and frequent diner for business.
Definitely couldn't tell there is a COVID pandemic, the house was packed and tables mingling.
Ordered 9oz steak - they brought 6oz (and fries were warmish at best). Manager apologized, got me another 6 ouncer and freshly fried fries! And my entree wasnt even charged on the bill! Welldone Earls, great customer service. Will be back!
We haven’t been out to dinner in 3 months and were thrilled we could get a reservation so we didn’t have to wait for an hour as in the past. It took a while to get our drink order in, the food however came quickly???
We couldn’t get over how busy it was and how many people were there given Covid.
We were asked to wear our masks if leaving our table for any reason, yet when my husband went to the restroom with his mask on, someone came right behind him without their mask. Not the fault of the restaurant, yet every establishment should enforce the mandated rule.
We will be back in the summer!
Everyone from the host to the amazing waitress we had. Was amazing. Thank you.
Order Cajun chicken with warm potatoe salad. Chicken was good , sadly the potatoes in salad weren’t cooked very well still hard 🙁
I really enjoyed this place, only restaurant we've sat in for 10 months. The food was good, our server was awesome. My only complaint is $18 for top shelf liquor. I've travelled extensively, prior to covid, have been in many high end restaurants,,however I've never paid $18 for a dbl vodka, but it's not something that would not have me come back.
No complaints at all! Great food, fast service, yummy drinks.
The food was wonderful and we had a great experience!
Big thanks to the kitchen staff our steaks were perfectly done! Our server was so kind and attentive and a manager noticed we were waiting to use a gift card and came right over to help. Will definitely be coming back.
Great Valentine’s Day ambience and great food. Will definitely go back!
I booked our reservation a few weeks before we arrived 5 minutes before our reservation went up and spoke to the host. She looked a bit confused but said she was chevron our table. We moved aside and waited about 5 minutes when another host approached another couple asking if they were Kristen then said yes and followed her in. We continued to wait of course lots of people are named Kristen. We waited as they took others to their tables about 10 minutes later my husband went up to the host and asks if we have been forgotten, she looked puzzled asked him the name and if we booked online we said yes she looked at the other host and said again they would check in our table. We’re we’re then taken in to a large table in the bar area, it was very clear that something was screwed up but what I wanted to hear was sorry we made a mistake, yes we got a table after waiting over 15 minutes but our nice Valentine’s dinner was spent in the loudest busiest part of the bar. The table inside us was a corner booths where the people were employees of the restaurant and what seemed like everyone that worked there was coming to “party” with them. I’m all for a good time with friends but it was unfortunate that we ended up in the party corner when we just wanted to celebrate together! I my advice to Earls even though I know they won’t listen is when you make a mistake say sorry we screwed up and come and follow up on our expirence instead of following up on your own staffs party
It was alright, my steak I ordered firstly was such tiny portion, it said 9 oz but felt like 6, and the mash potatoes and asparagus was so little, barly became full. The steak tasted good though, but for 40 dollars for that One dinner felt over priced.
We felt ignored for periods of time. Our meal felt rushed. We were not half way done our appies when our entrees arrived. No offer to keep them warm while we finished our appies. When we were done eating it took forever to get a coffee and then longer to get our servers attention for the bill. Had the blackened chicken which I have had in the past. This time it was dry. No quality check was done on our meals. Had a problem with the tip machine it kept defaulting to 20% when I was selecting option 4 “other”
Service was fantastic.
Would definitely go back again .
Earls is not a place that I frequent but I received a gift card and so we went for their happy hour. I was amazed at the quality of the drinks and the food. Some places skimp on the alcohol at happy hour...but not Earls!! The food was also very good. Will definitely be back!
booked for dinning room and they put us in the bar. It was loud and there where customers walking around from table to table There was no social distancing with tables. Too many people at tables. staff and customers not following the arrows on the floor for flow. felt totally unsafe in the restaurant.
The food was not good, everything was overcooked And too much salt, there was dirt from the potato salad, I kept chewing on sand pieces, was not a good experience, we have been going to earls for year’s , the food is usually good, however, that night was terrible,
We have enjoyed Earls going at least two to three times a month. However since covid started we have not been very much so this time was a treat. Sad to say it was very disappointing for both service and food. Our server was hard to get a hold of unless we flagged him down. Ordered a 9 ounce glass of wine and received a 5 ounce glass. My husbands ribs were good but his potatoes were cold. Our daughters rare steak was dry, not sure how that happens and my salmon had no sauce on it. Apparently they now put the sauce in a circle around the plate so it gets soaked into the rice and veggies. How weird. When I ask for some sauce on the side to put on my salmon they charged us for it! Our ice-cream was ice crystals. When we told our server about it he took mine off the bill but still charged my husband for his. Anyways, we are hoping it was just an off night and the next time will be back to normal.
We were upset that the dish we went for was sold out and also that belini slush was gone
Really enjoyed the dome experience! Friendly staff and great service.
One of my favourite places to dine..always pleasant and helpful staff and great food.
Our server was fabulous and the food was great
We went in for my friends birthday, I had made reservation the day before for 3:30. We showed up for our reservation and the lady at the front was extremely rude to us - she first didn’t hear me properly and took us over to a table where there was already 3 people sitting - she then said is this the table you are meeting, I said no it is for 2 as per my reservation. She then said “well there is no reservation and you told me you were meeting a Michelle” I said no my name is Michelle and I did make a reservation I even got a confirmation and a reminder. After I showed her she apologized but I found it really set the tone for our whole service and it was a very unpleasant start. I was quite embarrassed.
Amazing!! I really love this restaurant. food and service is outstanding.
I love Earls happy hour menu, and the prices are fantastic. But our server was “meh” to be fair. He didn’t show up to our table for 10 mins, we had other people talk to us saying “he’ll be right here”, he was not right there. And he never showed up much to check on our table, only the first 60 seconds we got the food and never after. And he rushed us out, didn’t really chat with us, not a friendly server.
Great food and service!
Sad to see so many groups that are clearly not in the same household, eating together and the restaurant allowing this.
