Earls Kitchen + Bar - King Street
I went on a Monday afternoon having made an appointment online for 4:30pm . I booked a booth in the dining room, but when I arrived they advised the dining room didn't open until 5. Not a big deal as it wasn't too busy or noisy at that time. The food was fantastic. Margaritas are the feature drink on Monday. They tasted good, although, I am not sure they put any alcohol in them! Service was average. Overall a good experience and would definitely go again.
Amazing food and good selection of drinks, great service!
Was there just for drinks and appetizers off the happy hour menu. Drinks were excellent (mojito, and Ray's mistake), food was good (sweet potato fries, Margareta pizza, chicken tacos). Because of the time we were there 4:30 there were very few people there, but it was very busy by the time we left 5:30
While ambiance and service was good, food quality wasn’t. Dishes were salty and my friend had to return her Cajun chicken sandwich because it was so over spiced and salted it was inedible. Server did not charge her which was good. I think food needs improvement
the lighting in could be brighter..I'm not that old...but I found it difficult to read the menu even the wait staff acknowledged the lighting was quite dim.
Just a tad loud for business meetings. Hard to hear and speak when eating at noon, but at 11:30 am it wasn't too loud, so depending on timing, you won't get a quiet spot. Food was good, servers were good, ambience was also good. Will go again in the future.
great food and drinks, good atmosphere, good service, for less momey than I was expecting.
Never fails me everytime I go and eat here whether a brunch, lunch or dinner. Lucky with the servers as I always had a nice and energetic ones. Food are always good, perfect mimosa and cocktail drinks (as per my taste preference)
The ambiance was great! Great plant based selection and the food was amazing. The music was too loud though and for some reason rave music was playing although that wasn’t the vibe in the restaurant which we thought was strange. But Overall I had a great birthday here and I will definitely be back
We were there to celebrate our friends engagement and it was the perfect place! The food was delicious, our server was wonderful! I absolutely love bringing people to Earls when they come and visit Toronto!
Everyone enjoyed their meal. The quality and variety of food was very good, including many vegan/vegetarian options. The only real downside was the noise level, which was very high.
Everything was amazing! Yucantan chicken tacos were one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Cant wait to go back!
The restaurant was busy and loud, but not uncomfortably so. The food was good but not spectacular; pretty much what we expected. The service, however, was excellent: friendly, fast, efficient, and accommodating. Overall a good restaurant in a great location near transit, Roy Thompson Hall and Mirvish theatres.
We got there earlier for our reservation and sat down. We were able to grab a appetizer from the happy hour menu. We had just finished it and a drink with the help started moving tables around. Next a large group of 16 loud people sat down. Just ruined our dinner they were so loud! Wouldn’t go back!
I was glad to see gluten free options at Earls and it was good too . Would definitely go back
Great plant based options
My lunch party had about 9 people. The food was pretty good as I had the swordfish tacos. My only gripe when we got the individual billing it was messed.
Outstanding service as always. Bianca our server was knowledgeable, polite , friendly and speedy as we had a curtain to get to. Food choices always great. I like a burger or sandwich and my husband loves the spicy bowls or seafood. It is always lively and high energy which we particularly like. Looking forward to going again in Spring Summer when the patio will be open. Love it outside too. Please pass on our Thanks to Bianca from Nick and Sandra originally from UK.
Great service as usual!!
One of my fav places for Sumday brunch. Cat B is my fav server - friendly and provides excellent hospitality. Always willing to promote my positive experience on ig but no shout out from you 😞
Ordered clam chowder soup. It was ODDLY messed up —— whomever cooked the clam MUST OVER heated the stove when cooked the seafood. Its about the MOST DENSE protein i have attempted to chew my whole life. Lol the small chopped clams were as hard as dense liquorice candies lol. Over cooked chicken or beef would eventually be able to come apart in the mouth but these were tough as rubber. Aft my enormous efforts of chewing n difficulty of swallowing, i finally gave up n asked for diff soup. The waitress was extremely helpful ! Someone from management came by completely applogetic and offered to switch food. It was brought to manager someone at kitchen messed up the food. Later on the Manager came brought me the different soup I asked for. So i was impressed with the restaurant after all.
Good was good and didn’t wait long at all. A bit noisy but it’s probably normal as everyone there is talking...chatting. Servers have good smile and nice service.
Why is the boom boom boom on and on of the supposedly background music so loud and always booming steadily and annoyingly on?
We had a lovely pre-theatre dinner at Earl's. The food was good, and the service was quick, even though it was crowded and busy. There were good, new vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, which we appreciated. We would definitely come back!
GOOD FOOD BUT PORTION SIZE SMALL. OVERALL NICE PLACE FOR EAT OUT
Too loud to have a conversation easily across a big table at lunch time, but service and food are both excellent.
Good time had by all. Go us out and to the game on time
Our food was incredibly salty, which I said to the waiter when he finally asked if all was ok when clearing the plates away. Once I'd paid the bill, imagine my surprise to see the inedible food still on our bill! If I lived in Toronto I'd definitely be back to complain in person.
I have eaten here several times and never been disappointed with the food or the service. It is usually busy and was quite noisy with many people chatting and enjoying their lunch.
Every person at the table enjoyed their meal. Server was efficient and friendly and it was half price Tuesday on bottles of wine. So it was a win win all around.
The reason I am giving this review is because I simply asked the waiter if I could switch out fries for another side and it was apparently not something that they could do which is absurd to me because any restaurant will change it aside and it’s a simple request.
Great Food and Service and a very vibrant 'Bar Scene'. The 'After Office Crowd' definitely supports this venue and they tend to linger on, later into the evening.
Even though this was a Tuesday night , the place was packed and the 'Wait List' was long.
So, reservations are definitely recommended and once you're in, you won't be disappointed.
Steak was over cooked, certainly not Med Rare as ordered, closer to the far end of medium (gray throughout) Vegetables were far from hot, actually room temperature. Made reservations for a table in advance for business meeting and they placed us at a hightop bar table at 11:30 when the restaurant was far from full. Not what I was expecting from such a well known place.
Earl’s is a phenomenal place with the perfect ambiance for either a date or a group lunch. The food was amazing!!! Better than i expected. The portions were just right and the drinks were strong which is a rarity in Toronto.
Best soup (clam chowder)salad (Caesar)bread combo we ever had!
My wife ordered the Hoonan Kung Pao chicken with Level 6 Spice (hottest one). She received it and it did not have any hot spices at all. The server brought her Franks Hots Sauce on the side to make up for this. Not acceptable in my opinion.
Also i ordered a glass of wine with my food and did not receive until my meal was almost finished. That was because i ate slowly so i could hope to have some wine with my meal. I think they could not find the bottle of wine or something like that. To be fair however they did not charge me for the wine. Although i would have rathered paid for it and had it with my dinner.
The server was extremely pleasant and apologetic. The place was nice.
Great food and service. Caesars are the best in town!
Came here for Valentine’s Day, first time eating here for the both of us. Service was amazing, our appetizer took a little bit longer than expected however we eren’t bothered by it at all since we were occupied talking. Once the app did come, the waitress scincerly apologized and took it off the bill without us even compalinging. Rest of the food was really really good as well.
Server messed up our orders twice and then asked my boyfriend if he would like a drink while he waited for his meal to be remade. We assumed the server was making up for her mistake by offering a drink on the house but instead was charged for it. Calamari wasn't that great but the free rose and polaroid pic were the highlights of the evening.
We really like Earl's and always go there when we're in Toronto. The menu has good choices for non-meat-eaters and the service is always very friendly and helpful. It can be a bit loud at busier times, but last Sunday there weren't many people and it was quiet. We'll keep going back.
