The restaurant is huge and has a bar/restaurant vibe. The service was absolutely horrible and slow and it was so loud I could barely hear myself think. I would suggest more for happy hour than dinner.

Our food was good but they had left 2 temp toothpicks in one of our burgers. Ugh! The manager was apologetic. It's loud in there but fun to look around. I highly recommend the avocado toast and the burgers were really good..

If you're booking this place for a date or special occasion be sure to reserve a spot "in the restaurant". There is a large covered patio space they're trying to use year-round as part of the restaurant. It's fine for a bar, but not a place for a nice occasion. Wait-staff on patio was poorly trained. Menu and pricing is the same so ask for the restaurant or head elsewhere with your date.

Brunch happy hour is a great deal, $5 mimosas and $10 food you can’t find a deal like that in Boston for brunch! Love the ambiance at Earls, so many seating areas depending on your occasion.

I requested a dessert to be brought out for a birthday brunch. I had left a note with the reservation, called the day before to make sure, and spoke to the front hostess before the brunch to make sure a dessert would be brought out with the candle. The check came and no dessert. I took extra steps to make sure it happened and am disappointed by the service. Only bad experience I've had but other than that I love earls and the drinks and it's been a go to for me and my friends.

This could be so much better. Because their waitstaff is overstressed the service is lacking. I waited 30 minutes for hot water! Then the food is overly spiced - perhaps to get people to drink more. Everything has way too much heat - it’s just not necessary. I used to like it but no more.

Excellent as always. We hoped to sit on the patio and was pleasantly surprised that we were seated there. Food was fresh and delivered within a very reasonable time, which is key during the lunch hours.

The only downside was the service was very, very slow. We were enjoying ourselves so it wasn’t the biggest deal, but it was also a weeknight and would have been better if things moved along a little more quickly.

Check in for a reserved table is lengthy, and disorganized, (two stops, two lines!) A group of young people stood at the second check in desk staring at a computer screen and scratching their heads. My request for a certain type of table (based on hearing disability) was ignored. The room is too big, too crowded, too noisy (and then they blast music to make it even harder to hear the person next to you). Skip this restaurant. It’s trendy but nothing special.

I love Earl’s. I work in Back Bay and it is my go to restaurant. They have a variety of menu items, which they change up. I have been happy with everything I have ordered here. The service is friendly and consistently good. This last time I felt a little rushed and they took my bread away, which we paid for, without asking. The atmosphere is nice. This place does a good business, so be sure to make a reservation.

I usually have a great time at Earl’s but at my most recent visit, we received the wrong drink order size which we weren’t aware of until we started drinking it. After telling our waitress she gave us the wrong order, she brought us the correct size. But she charged us for both despite the first order being her mistake. When I corrected her about the check, we were still overcharged. This was really frustrating considering it was her mistake in the first place.

Overall it was great but I am going to be that person (sorry)

Our cups were filthy when we got the table and utensils had dried food on them. I know this was a major oversight because even our waitress was like oh man.

That was pretty much it. The way I see it restaurants should really keep an eye on that stuff - it’s our first impression of you.

Just saying.

Our waitress was nice and helpful. Food was superb.

I had no idea what to expect . I’m not sure if I would go back and refer a friend. Loved loved the young man that helped us with a drink order at the top floor . It was so loud you had to yell to hear one another . I don’t find that enjoyable. It was lively. Our waiter did not seem interested in serving us. My sisters meal was good. I asked for the southwest salad with mild chicken...I had to cover the chicken completely to mask the heat. It took an hour to receive our dinner after we ordered.
If I was to go back, it would be for a drink only . The bathroom was filthy by 8 pm and we had to track down toilet paper for a few women. It was a Saturday night but there is no excuse, add more staff.

Disappointed by this visit at Earl's. Usually we LOVE Earl's, the food is amazing and the monthly drink deal is decent. However this visit, our coconut shrimp was soggy and raw, we had to send it back to be fully cooked. We ordered our burgers medium rare and all three came out well done. The only good food was the sushi we ordered. The margaritas were $12 and delicious but TINY. The drink special this month is wine in a can. Earl's, we love ya, but this visit was a total disappointment. The one redeeming quality was that our table was an amazing view of the Patriots game.

Birthday Brunch
Food was definitely left and/or forgotten by runners...arrived at table stone cold..re fired and sent back...better but still not hot.
Waitress was kind and diplomatic
Manager handled it perfectly...comped mimosas /coffees and a brunch entree and was extremely sincere with his apology

- Horrible Service: took extended time to get drinks (even water), got cold truffle fries, over cooked salmon & instead of getting us chicken based food, the server brought us vegetarian food. It took her two tries to get the order (& that too an incorrect one): time to get food (order at 8:25 PM no food till 9:01 PM). Oh, they got us the wrong food, & charged us for both. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Went for birthday lunch. The sushi rice was not cooked so had to wait almost one hour for the tuna poke. Was not offered a chance to order something else...as the waitress disappeared. And despite referencing it was a birthday lunch during the reservation, there was no acknowledgement.

We went there twice. 9th & 11th september 2018. Reason I gave them the 2 stars is due to several reasons. Ill start w the positives. Both nights the servers, Gavin & another sweet lady I forgot her name, were extremely nice. The first night the food was amazing & delicious. One flaw though, after we ordered the clam chowder we asked if there was bacon in it since we dont eat pork. Our server asked the kitchen and they literally lied & we ate it anyway doubting ourselves. The 2nd night we went we found out there was indeed pork in it since we checked the menu again. We ordered the rest of the food exactly like last time but it was awful. Our burger was overcooked and we wanted it in medium. Our server changed it and brought it back the same. It was dry but we were so hungry and tired that we just gave up. Our sweet server told us that she will remove it from the bill. We refused but she insisted. At the end, she brought back the bill & apologized because her manager refused to remove it. The manager on duty that night on the 11th was rude since we saw her talk to him the first time & he just looked over to us & did not make any attempt to apologize or talk to us. And to say that to our server and refuse was unprofessional. Even though we were going to pay it anyway having that kind of service from the manager is unacceptable. It is ironic when the servers know manners and professionalism better than their own manager! We left disappointed.

Have been here numerous times. This last time was 50/50. First waitress was ok, but she was changing shifts and we got lucky by getting Julia. We’ve had her before and she is fantastic! Came back for drinks after and had Kylie, again, have had before and is great. Food is good. People watching is great. Cool outdoor terrace/bar. Good before Sox game.

Went to Earl's on our last night in Boston. Shown to reserved table straight away and served quickly. Varied menu and reasonably priced dishes available. The food was really tasty. Waitress very attentive. Overall we enjoyed the night but it us a very loud, vibrant place so no really the setting for a quiet romantic meal but we didn't mind that to much.

Quite the positive surprise that the Prudential is home of a pretty good restaurant like this. Food is decent without impressing and staff is ok nice without going that extra mile with anything. I really like the lounge vibe, though.
