The food was delicious and the service was excellent!!
Everything was great, but is will not be worth the membership fee that is going to be required after the first of the year. There are too many other good restaurants in Williamsburg. Even at the height of the season the restaurants are never more than half full it boggles the mind why they would want to make them even more exclusive? Part of the reason that we go there is because it is never busy. Now they want to make it even less busy? Genius. It is crazy.
Menu choices were very limited. Scallops were very salty.
Restaurant is small. We were put in a small room with only a few tables, one being occupied by a large, loud group. My husband and I could not hear each other at all. We asked to move but there were no tables available in the larger room. Server was apologetic and gracious. We ended up in a cozy little corner table in the bar which was lovely. The live music was soft and tasteful. Overall pleasant experience due to the polite and accommodating staff. BTW lovely resort!
Have been there multiple times and always enjoy the food, service and atmosphere.
Seven of us went for lunch. Overall, it was just okay. Fresh fruit was the side on my plate, and although it really was fresh and delicious, there were only about four little bites. More of a garnish, really. One member of my group was disappointed that the menu did not match the online menu she had reviewed, as she could not get the dish she really wanted. Another was extremely disappointed in the fried grouper. She couldn't even eat it, as the breading was too thick and too hard. The waitress was very nice and did all she could to be helpful, but service was very slow. The experience really was not up to top end resort standards, but sadly is representative of the majority of the "better" restaurants in Williamsburg, VA.
I ordered soup of day and BLT sandwich. Soup was not as hot as it should be. BLT was actually a triple decker sandwich which I do not like. Didn't see indications on menu that it was triple decker. Basically, it made it awkward to eat and was more than I desired. Waitress was great and ambiance was very good. We like the location.
Eagles restaurant at Kingsmill was an excellent choice for a casual lunch for our family of 4. Making the reservation was a snap on line, and the receptionist welcomed us by name as we entered the facility. The food was great and service was responsive. To top it off, I mentioned it was my wife's birthday and we wanted to have a quiet lunch for her. The waitress surprised her with a complimentary desert, which we all enjoyed; the plate it was presented on had "happy birthday" written in chocolate swirl. That was a nice touch. Believe me, we will enjoy future trips to the Eagles restaurant.
Nice location, waitress was pleasant and attentive, food left much to be desired. The crabcake was ok, the potato salad was too sour, the tomatoes were awful. Why the chef thought he could serve those tomatoes was beyond imagnation. I expected much more for the price I was asked to pay.
We were greeted as we entered the restaurant & shown to our table quickly. Our server introduced herself, filled our water glasses & asked if we'd like to order a drink while four of us waited for the last two of our party to arrive. The orders were taken, the food arrived promptly, & was delicious. The corn & crab chowder was especially good. We would return hopefully on a warmer day so we can take advantage of the outdoor seating.
