Went here on a recommendation. The food was great and the service was superb.
Just excellent. Food is very interesting, I so well prepared. Service was perfect.
We had a reservation, but the seating seemed more for the server’s convenience. (Lots of empty tables, but everyone seated close together, so it was noisy). Service was slow.
Dishes were creative, delicious and generous. Nice menu.
Great food, great service and ambience all round great meal
Good food, drinks, and service. A little noisy but tolerable
A sorry attempt at Asian fusion.
It’s seems that if you add hoisin sauce to a dish it makes it Chinese. For being located in a mecca for Asian cuisine this restaurant caters to those who think Chinese food is sweet and sour pork and a California roll is a legit sushi roll.
Very conveniently located near Union Square. If you're driving into SF, the Sutter Street garage is a few doors away. Have gone to lunch and dinner here often. Love the food! My favorite appetizer is the corn fritter.
Quality of food has deteriorated from last I ate there! Papaya salad too vinaigrette...
If you're in the Union Square area of SF, then this is not a terrible choice. But it's really just mediocre. The ambiance is ok, and the service is not bad, but the food was a definite ho hum, and overpriced. Doubt I'll do a repeat... but might be worth a try and you can decide yourself.
Even though my friends were not there yet, I was offered to be seated. Usually in SF restaurants it would be "take a seat at the bar" - not in this place. I also got a reminder email and a phone call in the morning. The food is great, though small-ish for the price. Did not like the noise.
Eight of us sat at the long rectangular window table. It was after our daughter's HS graduation from Drew. Anybody could order items and our waiter would inform us if there were too many duplicate items. They break it down to portion size with varying prices: small, medium, large. Seniors, 26 year olds, and 18 yrolds reported that everything was great. The Asian Fusion theme worked well for the gang. I had gone here once before after a Saturday opening at the Leica Gallery and found it cozy - a good place for a cocktail. My guess is that it a fun spot during the week, for socializing after 5p.
Everything was great
E&O is a great value for the price. The food and service was excellent. The only drawback is that while it’s a beautiful space, the noise level is challenging. Be prepared to have to raise your speaking voice several decibels in order to carry on a conversation... which the table next to you may join as seating is pretty tight.
Food was overpriced and overseasoned. Liked the ambiance but probably wouldn’t come back.
We had a great quite lunch on saturday during memorial weekend. Service was great and food tasty. Had the Katsu/Chicken sandwich and Corn style burger both were great. Plan to go back...
The unique food dishes were delicious! Loved the variations on more traditional Asian fare, very interesting! Clearly a very popular spot.
We had a bad experience at check in. When arriving at 8:11 we were told to have a seat and we would be sat closer to our reservation time which was 8:15. We didn’t end up getting sat until 8:25. It was more the way the hostess told us “we will seat you closer to your reservation time “ that seemed rude. If a table wasn’t ready I would have been more understanding to hear. It will be just a few mins we’re just waiting on a table. The “closer to your reservation time “ seemed very off putting.
Ambiance is dated
Service was understaffed
Hadn’t been here for a while but will be coming back soon. Went for an early dinner during happy hour. Good drink prices and a great opportunity to try a variety of small appetizers. The green bean side dish was delicious. Ribs and portobello mushroom satay are two favorites.
First time for my friend. She loved it. Small plates are great. Staff is helpful, considerate of our conversation and choices, everything you want staff to be!
Great Asian flavors and attentive staff
A co-worker and I went here for dinner and drinks for my birthday. It was a very good time. The waiter did bring cake and a candle even though we didn't order any desert. Nice touch. It was good cake!
Fantastic food, unique but non-intimidating menu, great service. Beautiful ambiance.
Consistently great food and service. The warm ginger cookies to go are a must!
I took my mom here for mother’s day dinner. We shared some appetizers and small plates between four of us. Everything ordered including non alcoholic cocktails, was delicious and worth the 45 minute drive. It was a little noisy when busy but nothing terrible. Absolutely recommend this place.
Everything's good except the dumplings.
Great food and outstanding service! Tried lots of appetizers and all were great! Skating beef and black cod entries were fantastic!
Always awesome. One of my favorite spots in SF. Try the oysters (obviously) and the duck-skin steamed buns!!!
Service is fantastic. Good presentation of the food and taste great.
Lunch was good. Not crowded so not noisy. Corn fritters are always good. The chicken sandwich was very good and a salad was sufficient. Service was good.
One of my favorites. Excellent flavors.
Food was delicious and happy hour wine and food specials were really well priced. The shiitake mushrooms and the spicy eggplant were very tasty. Also enjoyed the salad with shrimp. The chef subbed lychees due to a mango allergy. Service was great as well.
A great place to eat before going to the world Affairs council meetings
Great place to go before a show at the Curran.
Great small plates to share, fun evening, excellent service, easy street parking on saturday downtown. Yellow spaces open on saturdays
Really enjoyed my time. Great services and great food. Love that you have a gluten free menu.
Service was great. Some items were very good, a couple just so-so. One was bad.
Well, we were 3 and only two enjoyed the food and one couldn’t eat anything, because of the level of spices.
I prefer the place for lunch - for dinner is too specific, chilli Asian food, nothing new, nothing fancy. The noise level is horrible.
Quick get together with an old friend to celebrate my wife’s birthday, so the place was perfect for this occasion. We stuck to the smaller plates while enjoying their specialty cocktails, and were not disappointed with the food quality, presentation and impeccable table service. I was thirsty that evening, so my water glass must’ve been refilled about five to six times promptly, which was on par for the rest of the service.
This used to be a happening place and now it is best for shopping out of towners. Hate to say this but the food has lost its interest. Dishes we know from other parts of the world and other restaurants in the city execute it much better. This time around it was heavy on the salt and I am a salt fan. Too much soy as well. Calamari was crisp but the sauce was bland - that should have been changed out years ago. The Pumpkin dumpling was doughy...cannot compare that to any dim sum place. The Shaking Beef should have been tender, so tender that it could have been cut with a fork. I was embarrassed to have suggested this place to my out of town family.
The concept is great and the décor is still lovely, the wait staff was just fine - the food needs help.
