Corn fritters still outstanding, as were the devilled eggs. Some of the other items we ordered were not as fabulous as on past visits, but I can forgive a lot given the pandemic. Service was great until we waited a long time for our check -- I think it was a shift change.
The food was very good, especially the egg plant and noodles but service was sketchy. We must have had 3 or 4 different waiters/servers but understand that they are short staffed due to the shut down.
Love E&O and glad to see it made it through the pandemic. Delicious, creative dishes that span the cuisines of several Asian countries. Great place to share stuff so you can try more!
Food was mediocre at best. Not a single one of the 5 things ordered had any semblance of flavor. Waiter was a little slow…but it may be because he was learning that toast app.
Nice people there. But the food went downhill in a huge way.
This is a long standing restaurant with so many amazing dishes. The quality of all we had was truly superb. We went with several small plates to share. The ahi tartare was just so clean and fresh tasting with a little under heat. Secondly, we had the lamb naan the raita that came with it added a cool freshness and the chutney had warm spices and was thick and jammy great accompaniments. We also did lettuce cups and last but not least an E&O classic corn fritters. No trip to E&O can not include the fritters. They did not disappoint. Such a special dish.
Amazing service, loved the ambience! And even a soecial dessert for the birthday couple.
Great food and service. I will definitely visit again.
If you are looking for a great dining experience around Unions Square, stop by E & O Kitchen & Bar. Great atmosphere for asian cuisine and cocktails, plus they have a outstanding "Happy Hour"!!
Food and service is always good. Great place to go as a couple or with friends.
Ordered drinks and food. The food came out before we got our drinks. Ordered the pad Thai and asked for it spicy, it came out very bland. The drinks were very good but the food missed the mark and the service was slow especially with the drinks.
The food is excellent here--and we especially recommend the Indonesian corn fritters, which are deliciously unusual.
Our only issue was that half of our food order arrived early, but the second half didn’t come until we prompted the server. Because we were outside--and it was typical San Francisco weather--we got pretty cold during the wait. That said, E&O compensated us for the wait with a free drink.
We’ll definitely go back here again. The Asian fusion menu is great, and we look forward to the time when we can dine at E&O under more normal circumstances.
Food was terrific
Delicious food prompt service. We’ll be back!
Yummy Asian inspired food. Great martini. Friendly staff
Great food, friendly service and comfortable setting.
We were somewhat isolated which was good with COVID but service less ideal. We liked the papaya salad- very fresh. The chicken satay was dull, just chicken tenders on skewers. Katsu chicken was better but deeply fried. Not a top recommendation but acceptable.
Great food! Nice choice to sit outside or indoors, attentive service.
We were first time diners and the food at E&O was simply outstanding.
This was the absolute worst food I've eaten in years. Gummy dumpling wrappers, strange coursing, expensive colorless satay. All in, very expensive to eat cold food from a Whole Foods hot var.
Not so much selection on food. Appetizer we wanted to ordet is already sold out and yet its only 6:30pm. Food just didn’t exemplified, seemed like just a regular take out Chinese food!
Thanks, it was a delicious dinner. I think that without table clothes like fine dining, the corkage was a bit steep.
The place needs a branding refresh. Very nice outside but logo and all the signs looks terrible. It should be more classy branding to show what it’s like inside.
They tried robbing us with the bill. Terrible experience
Covid-19 safety protocol observed by staff, restaurant inside/outside is clean, bathroom is nice and clean.
Not your fault
Sutter street is loud and I don’t like the buses going by.
Can’t wait to go back inside and be normal again.
Food and service was great
We are locals staying in SF for the weekend. E & O Kitchen surpassed our expectations. From friendly and efficient staff to scrumptious food, we had no complaints. Our absolute fav were the shiitake mushroom dumplings - we had to order a second round. Tip, keep the leftover sauce handy for dipping other things like the pork bun. Also fabulous were the corn fritters, pork buns and string beans. I really wanted to try the baby back ribs but just couldn’t eat anymore. The rose cava was very nice as was the old fashioned. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing more friends.
This place gets it right every time. The dry fried green beans are fantastic! The mushroom dumplings have SO much flavor. Their house margaritas are very good. Definitely put this back on your list. I think it’s been here around 27 years. Time to go again. You’ll love it.
The 80s music got old but other than that nice theming and nice atmosphere . Food was excellent but slightly overpriced.
Friendly staff. Delicious food. Covid 19 precautions taken
Food was fresh and tasty. Service was excellent.
Food underwhelming in flavor. Did not live up to my expectation based on reading of the menu.
I like this place; it hits the important points for a good night out. First off: consistency. The food menus is solid and the cocktail menus is always changing with great tasting cocktails. Prices are right and service is typically warm, professional and accommodating. The crowd here is often dates and people grabbing dinner/drinks with coworkers. This consistency explains why they have been open for 22 years and I return every 6 months or so.
Always a go to for us. Consistently good food and service.
Such great food! Love this place.
Good food off the happy hour menu, very small portions but tasty. Dumpling sauce was very good, more delicious than the dumplings themselves!
Food and service were good. Better than I remembered from years ago. My biggest complaint was the enormous and uncomfortable chairs that did not fit under the table we were at. Not being well seated , more like sinking into an oversized chair for the height of the table made my meal less enjoyable.
This is our go to restaurant when we are going to the theater Love it!
Most of our food was really tasty. The corn fritters, Asian Caesar salad and Shaking beef, were favorites. Chicken lettuce cups and a cheesy pita thing, were more blah. Our server was wonderful! They were extremely busy, which is normal, so you need to forgive the servers for not stopping by right when you need them to. Just enjoy your company, and relax. Cocktails were expensive but very good
They sat us in the worst possible table in the restaurant, right next to the grill area so the blowers from that area blew on us the entire time and the lights from the grill/ kitchen were bright which made it hard to look at people sitting at the end of the table. Horrible area to have a table in a restaurant. Disappointed
The lunch was wonderful and everything was perfect. Will definitely come again
