Yummy food and priced well for the quality and quantity.
Desert menu was limited. Add chocolate pie, cake without the ice cream etc.
Great service and great food. The Indonesian fried rice was delicious.
The service, the food, the ambiance all are unique and worth visiting this legacy restaurant
E&O is just a great place to meet friends, go to the Happy Hour or drop in for a bite when you're done shopping in Union Square. It's not the fanciest or the best food in San Francisco, but it's consistently flavorful and they have some menu standards that we never get tired of. Try the Deviled Eggs, the corn Fritters, mushroom dumplings - all great comfort food. The service is fast and unpretentious and the bar-tenders do a great job.
Nice lively ambience with a variety of delectable dishes. Nice subtle unique flavors. It was a busy evening and although I enjoy long dining experiences we could have enjoyed more dishes and beverages but the service orders were delayed from the kitchen and not as warm and moist as could have been.
A fun place for dinner! Don’t miss their shaking beef!
Every dish we ordered was very good! We have been here before, and, the food and quality of food is consistently very good. We shall return again and again!
Each dish was delicious. Prompt and helpful service. Unusual and intriguing cuisine.
Booked for a business dinner and received rave reviews from my client. The Asian fusion cuisine in small plate format works very well and he extensive selection of beers on tap was also a plus.
sOOoo loud in there sitting in back by a wall. We had to yell to hear eavhother
Food was good. We came for Restaurant Week but was told that it wasn't available. Why participate if you won't offer it to your guests?
Staff was super nice, but service was very slow. Arrived right on time for my reservation but didn't receive entree until 45 mins later. Also, the corn fritters (one of their specialties) were overcooked (almost burnt). Server voluntarily took those off the bill without us asking which was nice - but the overall experience was less than what I recall from past visits.
Lovely food. Servers a little “off” - we were sharing and they put the shared food plates down with no serving utensils. Each course (3) we had to request a serving utensil. That said, they were very responsive when asked.
Great service, great menu, wonderful food.
Definately be back!
1 appetizer and 1 side dish were never delivered . Pork chop which was recommended to us was undercooked and very tough
Back area very loud, next time I would try to sit in the front part of the restaurant.
Attentive wait staff, delicious food, and spicy cocktails
Party of 6 and everyone was pleased
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.
Food really wasn’t that food at all, and the service was quite slow. I expected more!
Portions are huge! We had the restaurant week special, which was $40 for three courses. We tried everything and were pleased with everything. And had leftovers for lunch the next day!
Pre-dinner meal prior to the SF Ballet
Excellent food, reasonably priced. Cozy atmosphere.
Although a different restaurant from the rollicking place several years ago with beer flights and extensive tapas menu and lotsa big parties, they have made a smooth transition over the years, keeping some of the small plates and stretching some of the favorites out to full courses. Corn fritters! yum yum gettum! Prices are mid range, won't bust the budget, and portions are decent. Service is prompt, dishes are hot. A pleasant unpretentious place that is satisfying.
The food was very original and delicious. Walking to our table we saw such interesting plates that a good number of the items we ordered were decided by the visual appeal. Will definitely return the next time I am in San Francisco.
Food was excellent, our server was wonderful. Prices are high, but this is not a fancy place. The noise was deafening even at 5:30 on a Saturday evening.
Great meal . We are here a few years ago, still great. Indonesian corn fritters!
I’ve been here many times. This dinner was with 4 customers. We all enjoyed the food and service was good. The one issue we had was the waiter seemed to be trying to add things we didn’t request and even though my guest and I spoke clearly and slowly he tried to add one or two appetizers above what we ordered. I think English is his 2nd language so that may have played a part in it.
Not a big ideal just an unusually experience.
Cool menu, but overpriced for what you are getting.
Food was on the pricey side. Definitely a “fusion” spot in that only one thing- calamari- we ordered tasted like what we had expected it to be. We got a calamari appetizer, 2 different satay- beef and shrimp, and pad Thai. It was just enough for the 2 of us. Food was alright, the flavors didn’t quite fit well together. Service was very good. There was always someone inquiring about refills for drinks and clearing the table.
Half the food didn't taste right and half of us got sick.
Was very disappointed after reading all the great reviews.
We absolutely LOVED E&O Kitchen and Bar! We were in town for a trade show and dinner meeting with clients and wanted to find a local hot spot that was recommended by the locals. This was the perfect restaurant for our event.
All of the staff were extremely friendly, the atmosphere was very open and energetic, and the quality and presentation of the food was second to none! We were close the the kitchen which was a great backdrop to our dining experience and we had a great time with our clients. This was the perfect restaurant to help make our clients feel special. Thanks so much!
The food was not as good as last year when we visited. The Brussel sprouts dish was too soft and the chicken lettuce cup dish were overcook as well. The Black cod was good.
This was my third time at this restaurant. The food has always been mediocre, but we were in the area and wanted to give it another chance.
The string beans were half uncooked, the chicken satay was horrible.
Solid place and definitely good and unique food items (e.g., corn fritters).
Fabulous food and excellent service - will go back for more!
Went during the JP Morgan conference and there is an additional charge if not enough food is ordered per hour. We ordered appetizers and when we tried to order lunch waiter proceeded to ignore us and we weren't even able to order the food we wanted. Ended up leaving without eating. Will never return.
Food and service was excellent!
Nice casual atmosphere, friendly staff, fast service, good food. The small plates are not small. Chickpea fries are awesome as are the fried green beans.
