unforgettable experience of hospitality. Our menu showcases the breadth and depth of
cuisine from the region and beyond, designed for sharing and creating a feeling of
warmth in the belly and the heart.
Our vision is to be a vital centerpiece in Oakland and to build a culture of warmth,
inclusivity and community in the area through the gift of Arab hospitality. Through the
power of food, we want to enrich people’s understanding and appreciation of Arab
cuisine and culture and all it has to offer in the Bay Area.
We went as a group because it was Restaurant Week in Oakland. I was very disappointed to see their offering was $55 dinner, no bargain over the daily menu.
Food was all very tasty; especially appetizer dips. I'm tired of paying $13 for a 6 ounce cocktail.
Fantastic food and atmosphere! Great for sharing tapas style with friends.
Excellent, delicious food, imaginatively conceived and perfectly executed, served by friendly staff in a very pleasant atmosphere, with a well-chosen soundtrack of Arab music playing audibly but unintrusively in the background. Even familiar things were better done than usual. In short, mabrouk!
Great food....interesting, authentic flavors. Especially recommended for explorers of international cuisine.
Nice view of the marina. Lots of seating. GREAT menu and delicious lunch. Definitely making the trip to the East bay again just to have lunch or dinner here.
The food was delicious and the service was very good.
Really great food. Fantastically seasoned. Went there for lunch, so the process of ordering & paying wasn't too off-putting. Just felt a little awkward. Saves them on staffing, but it doesn't benefit the customer. For a lamb hummus app, side salad, and a pita bread, it cost me about $31 with tax and tip. Seems a little much, but the quality of the food made it almost worth it.
Staff was very helpful in explaining and recommending dishes. Wonderful Brussels sprouts and hummus dips. Very nice selection of entrees.
Authentic, simple food with lots of great middle eastern/mediterranean flavors. Interesting cocktails, nice simple wine selection. The space is very comfortable and staff is friendly and attentive. Nice long bar if you like sitting at the bar. Not overpriced. Good spot to come back to. I will definately be back.
My favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. Prices will add up quite quickly, but the first bite of every dish is always followed by an audible "oh wow."
Can't wait to come back next year for my Birthday.
Great food and ambiance. A bit pricey but worth it for special occasion. Really wonderful small dishes for sharing.
Excellent food and service. Unique menu and it was fun to share plates.
The pre-fixe menu was outstanding. I’ll be there again.
We were so disappointed that this restaurant misled so much about the New Year’s Eve menu. It’s just not ok to make a decision 2 or 3 days in advance to switch to a fixed menu. Additionally, Though they said they would have the menu up a day before (too late) on Open Table, I could never find it. When we arrived, we discovered that you had to choose one entree for 2 people which is tough with individuals with different food requirements. Fortunately, it was enough food, we were able to figure out the sharing and it was delicious. They gave 2 of us free drinks, which was nice. It’s not what it once was which is so sad.
Food was delicious, service friendly. We came in a Monday night so even though it was busy, it wasn’t too loud. Really enjoyed everything, would definitely return.
Great food but wish more brunch offerings/dishes with protein!
Dyafa is one of the most delicious and beautiful restaurants in Oakland. The food is always outstanding.
The food was good with the exception of the fried brussel sprouts which were exceedingly salty - almost inedible. Otherwise everything was great.
We were a bit disappointed given high expectations. Some appetizers and dips were great but both our main courses were nothing special. Ambience is really nice and we were prepared for a very good meal ( and paid accordingly) but it did not quite deliver.
Food was outstanding
The coffee is overpriced. They charge $5 for drop coffee and don’t any other types of coffee!
shakshuka is good, however the price proportion on the menu is wrong. The shakshuka is $15 and Labneh (yogurt) with oil and herb on top is $12.
The ambience is great and so is the service. However, some of our food was cold, and then there was a problem because apparently you can order a half glass of wine but it applies to the regular menu wines and not the actual wine menu. So they wanted to charge us $20 for a single glass. They fixed it but we thought that was shady as the waitress never clarified anything.
Food was delicious
Excellent food, particularly the eggplant dip and fish entree. Absurdly long wait for cocktails - they arrived 15 minutes after the appetizers were served.
Great cocktails, delicious food at a variety of price points and we were not at all rushed even on a busy Friday night. Our only tiny issue was an inattentive server who didn't appear very knowledgeable about the menu.
It was so good
I’d been for lunch
Dinner was amazing
I have loved Dyafa in the past. This time, not. The service was dreadful: the wine didn't come, despite repeated requests, until all but one of the appetizers had been eaten. We had to request again, the remaining appetizer. But what was brought was a repeat of the first one. The food was ok, although not of its previous deliciousness.
They seated three of us on a table size for two. The dishes didn’t even fit on the table. The waitress told us that the food comes out slowly and not all at once. That’s not what happened.
At one point they took away one of the dishes to make space that we hadn’t finished eating !
The food was mediocre at best. Burnt manaeesh. Way too many fried pita pieces in the fatoosh.
Overall an unpleasant experience. We are definitely never going back there again. And would recommend our friends to not go there too.
Terribly slow service at dinner. I've been here for lunch several times and really liked it. There's a totally different menu at dinner. Suggest you try lunch first
Love! Came for a Saturday night dinner. Excellent food and service.
Beautiful good, gracious service
I miss the sandwiches made with the flatbread. Don’t like the pita bread. Something changed and in don’t like it. Also I don’t like the self-service at lunch time
Arrived early and was heartily greeted by hostess and bartender. They both helped me through a menu of foods I was not too familiar with. My guest and I both loved our selections which were splendid. Will definitely return !
Excellent, friendly place with delicious food and great service.
Ugh, this place was amazing! The desserts were good, but I felt like they fell a little flat after all the amazing food.
Restaurant wad empty, yet we were seated right by the bathrooms. Server seemed to want to rush us. Food was great. Lamb shank was delicious.
Tasty food, beautiful setting. Creative menu.
The food was delicious and the setting was lovely. We ordered way too much. The only thing that didn’t thrill us was the salad.
The food was outstanding!!!! Only down fall of the evening was that we order drinks that didn’t come until we we almost finished with dinner!! That was definitely a bummer but they did comp us a dessert for the table as they recognized that it was lame how slow the bar was. Definitely going back!!
