power of food, we want to enrich people’s understanding and appreciation of Arab
cuisine and culture and all it has to offer in the Bay Area.
The hummus, pita, and labneh were the standout highlights! The fish was also amazing
I think we just had an off day as the menu looked fantastic. 2 of our party got sick after eating at Dyafa. They both had the exact same items: the special coffee beverage and the Steph Curry. My food was delicious, however. The waiter was pleasant. I think we just somehow had spoiled food which was unfortunate.
Delicious freshly made unusual dishes, it was lovely
Service and ambiance along with outdoor seating was great. I ordered the Kefta which was a little bland but good overall. I would definitely go back and explore other items on the menu.
Our experience at Dyafa felt as gracious as being invited to someone's home. All the waitstaff were so friendly and eager to share the details and ingredients of items on the menu. We loved eating family style and were delighted with the delicious combinations of flavors in each dish! The setting, lighting and ambience makes the experience really special as well. I would highly recommend Dyafa to a friend, and bring friends back for another meal! thank you.
This was our first time at Dyafa and we couldn't have been more amazed! What a gem. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and our server was super helpful recommending what to try. We shared small plates and a lamb shank dinner--how delicious! This won't be our last time and we highly recommend it!!
Finally made it there and everything was very nice. Saving the 5 star for another trip. Need something like this in concord .
The drinks were outstanding. The service was just so-so, but the drinks and food were so good that we didn't mind. We are vegetarians, and we ordered a number of small plates, bread, and the chickpea pancake. Everything was delicious. Really superb culinary experience. We'll be back!
Food is fantastic - delicious & interesting. Service is friendly & helpful.
Great food and service. Enjoyable authentic and underrepresented cuisine. Refreshing new experience with generous portions .
Cocktails infused with eastern tastes were complimentary to the ingredients and spices used in the dishes.
I do not reccommend for lunch. It is so much better at night.
Very comfortable and not too loud. We went for lunch which has a much simpler and cheaper menu. Loved the mezze, the fattoush and the curry cauliflower wrap which was preferable to the meat wraps. The beef kabob seemed a tad dry. Would definitely return on another sunny day to sit on the outdoor patio and look across at the water
We celebrated our friend’s 70th birthday at Dyafa and it was there first dining experience at the restaurant. We have been there many times and always loved it. We couldn’t wait to take our friend there for her birthday and she and her husband couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved it and can’t wait to go back. It was extraordinary and every dish is scrumptious.
The extremely low level of service nearly overwhelmed our ability to enjoy the food .
It was our first time at Dyafa. The wait staff was helpful in making suggestions on what to order and about sharing plates. We enjoyed all the small plates and main dishes we had—the flavors were wonderful and not what we would usually experience. We tried two desserts —the chocolate one and the cake which were okay but not as outstanding as the other dishes. We’d definitely go back here again. Great for out-of-town guests and a casual evening with your spouse or friends. Vegetarian choices so something for everyone.
Dyafa is my go to with anyone that wants to go out to dinner! The food is perfect, getting better with each bite. The chef is very talented with her slight twist on traditional Arabic recipes. I feel like I am eating with my family when I eat her food! The service is great as well.
Fantastic and inviting ambience.
The food is fantastic!
The food was excellent and the service was great. I particularly enjoyed the cod special and the turmeric tea cake. The staff work well together and were all very helpful!
We had a wonderful lunch at Dyafa. The service was great, we were never hurried along, though we took some time for all of our group to arrive and order. All the food was excellent - we had several appetizers to share and also shared a wrap. Save room for dessert, because it was different and delicious.
There was a festival right outside, but the restaurant was well sound proofed, and we had no trouble hearing each other.
Great as always! A great place to take visiting family for something different.
This restaurant really knows what they’re doing. The ambience is wonderful with the windows looking out to the marina and tile flooring and cool ceiling. Staff are very friendly and helpful. And the food is to die for! I’ve eaten here many times now and have not been disappointed by anything I’ve had. For lunch you have to have have the Steph Curry wrap. But everything on the ie menus are delicious and authentic middle eastern.
Food and service was great. Had friends with us that are vegan & there was loads of choice for them also
Amazing! Some of the best food I've had in a long time. We dined with five of us which was ideal so we could order and share a multitude of dishes. Our friends are vegetarian so we went full vegetarian which did not disappoint. The staff was warm, helpful and efficient.
Some of my favorites were:
Muhammara, a roasted red pepper dip with pita.
Jazar Magherbi, roasted carrots
Labneh, yogurt fava bean dip
Also to finish up the meal we tried their arak spirits akin to pastis served over ice with an anise digestive finish.
Highly recommend this place.
We arrived for the earliest seating, and enjoyed excellent service as well as delicious food.
We’ve been to Dyafa and the food and service have always been outstanding. Tonight the food was every bit as good as it has previously been but the service was disappointing
Beautiful location with windows overlooking the estuary. The food was awesome. Loved the seasonal Manoushe and the edges were great to scoop up the eggplant spread.
The batata harra were the best fried potatoes I've had in a long time.
Amazing food and great service.
Service always a bit challenged at Dyafa. But the food is amazing. So we come back over and over!
We went with a group of 5 friends. We all found the food to be delicious, interesting flavors, perfectly cooked. Attentive service. Great atmosphere. We’ll be going back.
Excellent, flavorful food in an enjoyable setting. Highly recommend the mezze platter.
The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish had a distinctive taste. We particularly liked the shrimp dish and the carrot appetizer. The breads were also outstanding. My only complaint was the noise....too noisy for my taste...but the food was so good I’ll go back.
We went for our 2 year dativersary. Had a wonderful experience. Great good, atmosphere, and servers!
Very comfortable spacious beautiful restaurant. Easy to converse. Pleasant environment and really good healthy food.
We will definitely be back. Everything was delicious and beautiful to look at! Ambiance of the restaurant makes it a pleasure to linger. Waitstaff was friendly and properly attentive. A winner all around.
The food is amazing, the servers are great. Wonderful experience.
Dyafa is in Jack London square. Its a high-end restaurant serving mediterranean food, emphasis on the Levant (Syria, Lebanon, Palestine). They hav a very strong cocktail program, a handful of local beers on tap, and a limited wine list. The space is tastefully decorated and quite nice. We went on the later side of a Monday and it was fairly quiet despite being pretty full when we sat down.
The food very good. We ordered two dips. The hummus comes with lamb meat in a pool of fat, resting in the hummus. It was AMAZING. The yoghurt spread is bright and salty, and had perfectly fried brussels sprouts on it. Also very very good. We also ordered a flatbread which was pretty good if a bit bland (perhaps too much spreads and dips, that's on us). Next (or really, all at once, see below), we got the Fattoush. It was a western re-imagining, with big, fresh chunks of greens tossed in a tart dressing. It was good but it needed more spice and/or citrus to give it a bit more zest, I think. Finally, the lamb shank, which seems quite popular. It was falling off the bone, perfectly seasoned, resting on a bed of wheat berries (great choice) and some sort of reduction to bring it all together. Classic "old skool" restaurant meat slab.
We had cocktails and a glass of wine each. Cocktails were suberb, lots of exciting but thoughtful flavor combinations, particularly with spices and herbs. Get the cocktails!
The server was nice, very professional, and well-informed about the menu with good suggestions, no up-selling. She guided us through ordering and let us do our thang. But my biggest complaint, and the reason I only give service 3 starts, is the pacing of the meal was all off. If you are doing shared plates of all different types this is very important. Within minutes of placing our order, our 2 person table was packed with dips, bread, and salad. All told we were out of there with a full belly and light wallet in about 1 hour, which is too fast.
We were a party of 5 at 7 on a Monday. Overall a good experience but I have a few quibbles. It took a long time for our cocktails to arrive. And if you’re encouraged to share a lot of saucey and wet foods why can’t you just keep the pita bread coming? One small pita for 5 people and then it takes forever to get another one. And you have to wait and pay every time you want another little pita! Then we ordered more cocktails and they never came. Anyway.
Wonderful lunch! Incredible flavor and diversity
we were 4 in our party. We shared some appetizers Hummus with pieces of lamb two types of flat bread and the Fatush salad. Two of us were familiar with the type of food, but the food here was up several notches beyond what we had before. The main dishes, one of fish and another, vegetarian. was more than enough and for all of us. It was delicious, but there was hardly any room for dessert. We shared one cake. It was a bit too experimental for us with combination of flavors of sweet and sour. Just did not make it for us. Over all a great experience!
This is my second time at Dyafa and the service is much improved. The food and drinks were good. We’ll be back.
