Dutch Fred's
A Hell's Kitchen Local serving craft cocktails. Dutch Fred's is a lively cocktail bar serving an elevated food menu in speakeasy style bar.
The staff was very accommodating, and handled my large party of 9 with so much ease, I’m very thankful, can’t wait to go back!
We used to absolutely love going to Dutch Fred’s specifically for their cocktails. We’ve been at least ten times. Unfortunately the cocktail menu is a small fraction of what it used to be. We’ve only ever had appetizers for food and the appetizers are still divine. I still love going to Dutch Fred’s but it’s definitely not a place we recommend for cocktails any longer. As someone that used to rave about their cocktails I was disappointed. The few we had were still great but Dutch Fred’s just isn’t what it used to be. Noise level was as usual insane at 4 pm on a Saturday and we had to move tables but that’s an easy fix and something they easily accommodated. Service is still fantastic.
Never disappoints, great music too.
Such a neighborhood gem. So happy they have reopened. Great cocktails and food. Perfect date night spot!
Not quite the same ole Dutch Fred's (B.P.--before pandemic), but still a great spot with attentive service, good drinks & reasonable prices. Will be back soon!
Just a terrible place overall
Oh man. We went to Dutch Fred's a month ago for brunch and had a WONDERFUL experience. Excellent food, great service. I decided to take a friend there for dinner a few nights ago thinking the experience would be similar, and it was sadly quite the opposite. Slow service despite not many people in the restaurant. The bottle of wine we ordered had spoiled, and it took a while to get a replacement. And the arugula flatbread was over-baked to the point of tasting burned in parts. The carnitas tacos and chicken tenders were delicious, as were the fries. Overall though, my friend and I were dissatisfied and don't plan to return.
Their wings were great! Had a fun time!
Cute ambiance, excellent carne asada tacos, excellent smoked whiskey drink. Will definitely return.
Amazing cocktails, service and food.
Came here twice. Loved the appetizers
Closes at 1130pm, turned away at 1007pm, 1015 reservation on OpenTable didn't matter. Drove 3.5 hours to get to NY, no one stays open till the hours listed on Google or OpenTable. They should have shut down the ability to make the reservation.
My best friend birthday and they were out of everything! The brunch menu was limited just a horrible experience
Went for lunch with my 18year old before the theater. We Loved the Avacado toast and the burger. Absolutely will go back!
Food sounds and looks great. It tastes mediocre at best. That said, the cocktails are delicious.
Very tasty, very of-the-minute food. Not sure why service was spotty. Maybe lack of staff cooperation.
Great food
This place was awesome! Great ambiance, location, food and there was groovy live music at the front by the bar. Super hipster fun hells kitchen joint. We will definitely be back!
We went for brunch on Sunday March 8 2020. The food was good. However our waitress was very rude. She gave us an attitude for no reason. She did not see 3 cards placed to split the check and split it 2 ways, when pointed out, she was extremely rude. Would not recommend, very poor customer service.
Great location, fun place to meet friends. So close to the Hamilton theater!
Perfect for pre theater. Food and service were good. We liked the live music
We went for brunch on a Saturday. They had a wonderful 3 live musicians that weren't super loud and it was very calming. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect!
Awesome drinks, delicious food, good vibe! The best place to go for dinner/drinks after a Broadway show - whether the show was good or bad, we always get home having had a good night if we end it at Dutch Fred's. This was the 5th or 6th time I'd gone to Dutch Fred's, but the first time I'd booked. Made a last minute reservation with a special request, which was executed perfectly and exactly according to my request.
Our server was a dud and couldn’t answer any questions we had, but aside from that, the food and drink was great and it’s a very lively scene. We will definitely go back to Dutch Fred’s.
Amazing! Service, ambiance and food! Favorite place in NYC this whole trip! Definitely go for the endless mimosa/dutch punch brunch! Chicken and Waffles YUM! Loved the band! Definitely will be back!
This is a great place to go before the theater if you don't want to spend a fortune. We were in town from Baltimore and had been to Dutch Fred's previously. They serve a great hamburger and my martini was excellent.
Loved it, very convenient to theater district, but tucked away from the chaos. Very comfortable, tables are well spaces out, or if you want to sit at the bar, very spacious. Food was very good. Try the eggplant chips. Delicious. Will definitely go back.
Met friends pre theater. Music was a surprise they were standard jazz which we all enjoyed. Great drinks and I had a lamb burger, others waffles and chicken waffles little soft but great sauces and presentation. My husband had a descent omelette. Tiramisu and choc moose which was top shelf. Served with strawberries and whipped cream. Like to try dinner sometime for the authentic food choice
Great ambiance with live music playing in the back, which was amazing! Food was delicious and we weren’t rushed out!
We had an excellent experience at Dutch Fred’s. The food was delicious and they were able to accommodate our dietary needs. The high top tables are fun.
Live music was excellent!! Loved this place!
I have been there several times before and the food and service have always been top notch so was very excited to introduce friends. We arrived and got a great table but there server was not around very often and sat with dirty plates most of the evening. Was very disappointed
Pre show drinks and food. We were there early (5:30) reservation and already busy so definitely need a reservation. Service good, we ate a selection of the small plates which were all good
Two minor complaints. Too many high top tables. Low tables are a more comfortable seating position. I also cook and eat lamb burgers and am very familiar with there tastes and flavor. I'm sorry but your lamb burger is too strongly spiced. Otherwise a nice experience with wonderful cocktails and service.
Thanks for listening.
We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!! It is a great pre/post show spot for drinks/quick bite! I'm also intrigued by the brunch menu and plan to check it out soon :)
It is good for Times Square area. Was in a crunch and needed something. The bar is better than the food. It was good but not somewhere I would go back to per se.
Cute place for brunch! Hostess was very accommodating and sat us somewhere we were comfortable.
Went to see a show after having brunch
A very nice evening
The food and presentation was amazing. There was live music for the Saturday brunch but we were seated so far in the very back of the restaurant you wouldn't hear the music. There were also some bigger parties in the back section so kind of loud. The service was fine, food came out fairly quickly and was hot and fresh. The whole place was hopping with a great vibe so even though we couldn't appreciate the music, it was a great spot for brunch. Would totally recommend to others and would go back again.
