    First time going. Roof top is first come first serve and only have appetizers. The lower lever was good. Food is as good had the taquitos taste was amazing, had fish tacos and asada tacos. Flavorful place.

    We arrived on time and was escorted to a table, however I put in a seating request which wasn’t honored nor did the hostess mention it upon arriving at the rostrum. I pushed back and a manager gracefully corrected the situation and gave us better options. The ambiance was very nice and had that Mexican flair coupled with Mexican music. The service was good but not great. The food was actually pretty good. I ordered my entree without cheese yet it came with cheese. When I mentioned it, the waitress sent the manager over to let me know that she’d take the dish off the bill which was the right thing to do and appreciated. However, when the bill came there was a disconnect and it wasn’t taken off the bill until I mentioned it to the waitress. This restaurant has a lot of potential but the staff need more training. We might try Durango Cocina again when the kinks get worked out and their OpenTable score goes up. Lastly, you have to valet here or your car will get towed. There were tow trucks nearby on standby ready to hook cars. Thank you Chef.

    Overall, it was an amazing experience, great place to celebrate birthdays, extremely friendly staff and the food super delicious. Thanknyou.

    We had reservations on the rooftop believing we would be having dinner there but we were disappointed when we were told it was only appetizers on the rooftop. We opted for the rooftop. The appetizers were excellent and exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was amazing. The servers were very friendly but made many mistakes among them forgotten orders and orders were not served at the same time to our table of 4. Also, I do not mind spending $15 for a glass of Chardonnay but you only serve Hess which is substandard to most Chardonnay fans.

    Nestled within the elegant confines of the Hilton Sanctity Hotel, The Durango Cocina is a feast for the eyes, boasting a stunning aesthetic that beautifully blends modern design with warm, rustic accents. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by an inviting ambiance, charming decor, and a delightful arrangement of greenery that sets the stage for a promising dining experience. Unfortunately, what could have been a memorable breakfast was marred by a troubling level of service. I visited The Durango Cocina on the morning of June 22, 2025, and I was excited to immerse myself in what I anticipated would be a refreshing start to my day. However, my enthusiasm was considerably dampened by the lack of attentiveness from my waiter, Davido. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, I found myself waiting over 5 minutes just to be acknowledged. This delay was not an isolated incident; it persisted throughout my visit, with long waits for drink refills and even longer waits for the check. While it is often said that a smile can make all the difference in the hospitality industry, Davido seemed to embody the opposite. His demeanor suggested that he was genuinely unhappy in his role, which was disheartening to observe in an otherwise inviting environment. The disconnect between the beautiful surroundings and the service provided highlighted a significant gap that overshadowed the culinary offerings. Despite the decor and ambiance being truly captivating, the experience at The Durango Cocina left much to be desired. I desperately wanted to enjoy my meal, but the lack of attention and warmth made it difficult to fully appreciate the moment. It’s such a pity because the setting is ripe for an exceptional experience—one that I hope the restaurant can deliver by addressing these service shortcomings.

    My husband and I date night in LA or OC often and easily spend $300-$500 on a dinner and were ready to do so on 6/21/25. We heard of this spot through a friend and for the 1st time EVER I didn’t read reviews first and just went. When we arrived to what we thought was a rooftop restaurant we found a restaurant in an apartment complex that you HAD to pay $12 for valet to park your car right in front as there is no parking lot. You can eat then go up to the rooftop after for a drink. We went with it and were sat down in a very attractive outdoor area (apartment complex was the view). We waited over 10min with no one even acknowledging us before we flagged down the hostess to get us some water. We finally got service and ordered the fried cheese dough balls and guacamole. When the cheese balls arrived they were still raw dough and the cheese wasn’t even melted. The guacamole was liquid. We brought this to the waitress attention and she offered to take it back and continue to cook it but, no thank you. We still had hope and ordered mains. Husband got asada plate and I got chicken tacos (how can you mess up tacos). I asked for no onions and add cheese. When the food came out the tacos had onions, no cheese and were missing the jalapeños the menu said it had. I let the waitress know and she took the food back . When my food returned it had what looked like cottage cheese with some milky liquid, not fully cooked chicken and raw oddly chopped jalapeños. I took one bite in hopes it just looked odd but, spit it out as it was absolutely disgusting. It also came with cold watery black beans and what tased like Uncle Ben’s bagged rice. My husbands $85 Asada was literally a slab of steak on a plate. Needless to say after reading all the reviews this was not a one off. This restaurant is over priced, in a bad location and just awful. None of our food was taken off the bill after bringing it to their attention so we just left it all there. Save your money!!!

    Second visit, thought I’d give it another chance. They texted and tried to cancel my 3 week old reservation the MORNING of Father’s Day saying short staffed and menu due to recent gov’t hostilities and fear. My sympathies but another day isn’t a holiday and how would that help with staffing? Arrived and parked in a clean air space. Chased down at the entrance and told the ENTIRE lot is valet. 1. It’s not marked. 2. I was here last month and it wasn’t the case. 3. It’s not LA. 4. Feels like a money grab, not a necessity. Seated outside in the heat b/c there were no openings inside. Menus were visibly filthy. Drinks were slow again. Complimentary champagne for dads was nice. Server was attentive. Two of four dishes arrived solo which happened last time and was expected. However we were nearly FINISHED eating before they informed us they didn’t have the short rib the others ordered, husband included. Server is looking at us with no solutions. A menu and apology would’ve helped. They ended up taking our two drinks off the tab which felt insufficient. They’re trying to be upscale and we need that in Rancho but they’re missing the mark. They still haven’t reached that calm elegance of a high end establishment. It’s slow chaos with good ambiance.

    We came here to to celebrate Father’s Day and we had a wonderful experience. My husband is in a wheelchair, and they were very accommodating. We had the Tomahawk steak that could feed a village :) The churros were amazing, took me back to when I first tasted them long time ago when we visited Mexico. Chairs and tables were unique, and comfortable. Other than the background music being a little too loud for my taste, everything was great! We’ll be coming back for sure.
