Top Notch Service and a Great Seasonal Menu. From the table settings to the Dessert an A+ experience
Good experience overall:
Food is good and service is nice
We had a wonderful girls night, the food was very good and our waiter was most excellent. The only issue I had was parking. I know this is an issue in The Highlands. It was worth finding a parking place! We'll be back. Also, the lady who took my reservation was so nice and friendly. I received a phone call to confirm our reservation.
The food was mostly very good. Service was some of the worst I've had which is not atypical for Denver, unfortunately. Every table around us was served before and more thoroughly than us. It was pretty pathetic honestly. I won't be back.
Great meal at DUO . .two apps and two entrees (bison and trout) with dessert . . all were winners as was the service.
The food is amazing!!
Great food but the service was a bit slow.
This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years and it never fails to impress. We brought friends who had never been and they are excited to return!! Food was great, but the server was beyond fabulous, she was friendly and attentive. Brought my husband a little something special with his dinner at no charge!
Terrific service! Food creative and delicious! Fun drinks!
My wife and I have been here a few different times and each time its fantastic!
A very good meal as always. The bison steak could have been cooked a little more. Although I ordered it medium rare, it was very rare. The test of the meal was excellent, and Allison or server was awesome!
Great food! Great service! All around great place!
My favorite restaurant in Lo-Hi. The pork was excellent.
Excellent food, service and environment!
Took my friend for her birthday breakfast. Fried chicken sandwich and egg sandwich were both delicious. Great experience.
Great restaurant with amazing food options! Service was also quick and friendly. Definitely will be back!
We love going to Duo for brunch. We often times take our visitors here. The pastries are always delicious and the breakfast menu offers many fresh options and hearty options. The vibe is always fun and trendy and it’s in a great neighborhood!
We absolutely love Duo. We have been several times for lunch and dinner and it never disappoints! The salmon & Brie omelet was excellent and the French toast was as decadent as possible with caramelized bananas and a gooey chocolate hazelnut sauce! Brunch and dessert in one meal. Not to be missed. It’s a charming lohi restaurant in Denver.
Delicious food, lovely ambiance. Perfect place for a dinner.
Duo was great! Servers were knowledgeable and thorough without being obsequious. Food was great too, in particular the insane sorbet, and the gnudi dish (buffalo was great too). Wish they had had the trout or another fish while we were there, and the soup was a little over-creamy. But otherwise, everything was awesome and I love the casual rustic atmosphere! Recommend
We have been eating at Duo for years - its always great. Had our server select wines by the glass for us - they were all excellent. The pasta appetizer we had was amazing - and the osso bucco we flat out stupid good. Love this place.
Lovely early dinner. Service was superb. Food was excellent. The chefs kindly accommodated the food allergies in our party that can sometimes be problematic. Vegetarian entrees very super good- gnudi with a selection of fresh veggies and a dreamy squash purée at the bottom of it. Pork osso bucco was fork tender with a rich sauce and delicate cauliflower gremolata redolent with fresh herbs. The bison steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection with a beautiful crusty seared exterior and soft tender rare interior. The potato and leek gratin served as a side was good enough to eat on its own. Save room for dessert so you don’t miss the chocolate silk pie. Great selection of local spirits including my favorite Leopoldo rye and gin. It can be a tiny bit noisy when crowded but not overwhelmingly so. Definitely make a reservation and although kid friendly and great kids menu, tables are tight together. Squirmy toddlers will not be too happy here as children really must stay in seats or on laps.
Really delicious food with a cute rustic ambiance. Went with my boyfriend for a date night. Highly recommend.
OMG I hate to write a glowing review from a purely personal standpoint because it will be harder to get a reservation the next time I visit but this place is FABULOUS. Go here. You will not be disappointed. I live in NH and am thrilled they have a sister site in VT. I will MAKE THE DRIVE because the food is that good. And I will return each time I come to Denver!!!! Kudos for a fabulous special family experience!!!!
We hadn't been to Duo in several years - there's just a lot of other Denver restaurants to try. But, I'm so glad we made our way back. It used to be one of our favorites, and I was reminded why. You just can't get a meal that is less than outstanding here! We had the french onion mousse to start, bibb and ridicchio salad, and the bison tri tip and halibut special - all were incredible! For dessert, we had the chocolate french silk pie, which didn't disappoint. The quality of the food is outstanding, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and charming. If you're looking for an outstanding experience and fantastic food without the pretense, duo is the perfect place!
Our favorite restaurant in Denver and definitely one of our top ten favorite anywhere we have traveled in the world.
Amazing evening! Every course was well prepared, attractively presented, and delicious. We started with the spaghetti squash and the calamari. Skipping the soup/salad, we continued with the garam masala gnudi and the bison. We finished with a shared french silk pie and coffee, spiked with locally-sourced coffee liqueur. I'm not a professional reviewer, so I won't give a blow-by blow. However, we continually remarked to each other how good everything was. To top it off, our server, Lauren, was friendly, attentive without hovering, and very efficient. We were celebrating our anniversary; it was a perfect evening.
We went for an early dinner for our anniversary. Mollie hosted and served us. She seated us in a quiet place in the restaurant and she was so friendly and informative about the restaurant and the food and drinks. She was attentive, but not intrusive and allowed us to enjoy our meal. The Tuesday special; Fried Chicken was delicious as per her suggestion.
We will definitely be back!
I wouldn’t recommend Duo for brunch. Dinner is much better. Omelets were tough. Service was great.
Lovely brunch, the dishes were all very flavorful and filling. Waitstaff was very nice and helpful. Definitely will come again!
Super tasty, great staff, tables are close and it’s pretty loud we had a group of 8 and you couldn’t hear the people that weren’t next to you but it was a fun spot for a brunch with friends; decent prices and fun cocktails.
I've lived in the neighborhood for a number of years, and always heard that Duo was good. I finally made a reservation to find out for myself. As a discriminating culinary enthusiast, I can say that I was very impressed. Food was very good, creative, and cooked very well. The wine was good, and the dessert was very nice as well. I highly recommend this staple in the highlands!
This restaurant is a little gym in the highlands. Great menu selection and they change things often. Perfect for a fancy date night.
Fantastic brunch food! Will definitely be back again.
Fantastic from start to finish! Great service and amazing mushroom/cavatelli ap at bar before dinner. The trout was truly the best in Denver and our server Michelle was delightful. Can’t wait to go back! Cozy atmosphere, makes for a wonderful date night.
Neighborhood staple never disappoints! Food is as fantastic and flavorful as it was a few years ago. Desserts are decadent but not over the top. Love the staff and the warm vibe of the space. Thank you for another incredible dinning experience!
As usual, Duo's menu was excellent! Great choice during Denver Restaurant Week.
Great food, great service, great old building. A+ experience.
Lovely ambiance, creative dishes, friendly service.
Duo is an excellent restaurant located in the Highlands that I highly recommend. The food choices were all so tempting and the wine list offered a wonderful variety with various prices points too but wasn't overwhelming. Our dinner was delicious. I had the Arugula Frissee salad to start then the Duck confit which melted in my mouth. My boyfriend started with the crab fritters and then had the Pork Osso Bucco which was also amazing. We finished with the flourless chocolate cate - to die for. We will definitely come back as this was our first visit. How did we miss this gem before? I don't know.
