I have eaten twice at Duner’s. I had a wonderful Halibut entree on my first visit, and the second time I ordered lamb. The lamb was pricey and the meat was good quality, but the preparation was dull - very meh. My dining partner liked his pork chop. Service was just okay. The restaurant needs to be refurbished. I will not be returning any time soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Duner's. We had the fried oysters and the brussel sprouts for apetizers. Then we had the crab cakes, the corvina, and the beef tenderloin for entrees. All were cooked to perfection. We wished we had saved room for dessert. Our waitress was amazing. I would highly recommend dining here.

Our waiter, Dylan, was the best! He made our evening so enjoyable. His drink and food recommendations were spot on! Eating out is always made better by good waitstaff. It was nice being waited on by someone who seems to truly enjoy their job. Thanks for a wonderful night out with good drinks, great food and service that made us feel welcome.

We have passed by Duners many times while visiting family in the area but have never had the opportunity to dine there. It was totally fabulous ! I had soup, entree & dessert and finished every bite. First time in years that I have cleaned my plate and couldn't decide what I liked the most.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner on a Thursday evening. Seated promptly, server arrived promptly (Sasha). Menu selections varied ranging from seafood to beef choices. The bread brought to the table was We ordered the Fried Oysters appetizer which was very good, maybe a little salty, but very good. We then had the crabcakes and the meatloaf. Both of these dishes were incredible and the portion size was large! Ended up taking some home! A very good wine list is also available. Definitely a good too!!

After eating here for many years, my husband and I were very disappointed in our meals. I ordered the duck and it was not medium-rare as ordered and definitely not crispy. It tasted like processed meat. In addition, the risotto seemed to compete with the duck. My husband ordered the crab-cakes and his comment was "it tastes more like deviled crab, there is no lump crab meat". We waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. I enjoy having a glass of wine while I peruse a menu. After our wait-server came, service was good. We will give it another chance but if it is not good again, Duner's will come off our list.

Food was fantastic except for chicken in chicken picatta was very rubbery- I mean rubbery like a tire- and was concerned it was undercooked The bread the pasta the wine everything else was wonderful but scares me to return. Lady at next table over had to return her short ribs because they were so tough she couldn’t cut them yikes.

Very good service, as usual. Unfortunately, the chef neglected to include the salmon in the salmon entrée, but our server comped that meal. The noise level in the place was deafening. We had to yell simply to converse normally; it was exhausting. We've eaten their many times over the years, and the noise level is frequently a problem, so we usually try to get a table in the next room or the corner.

The menu changes daily and the options should please any and everyone! Corn and shrimp chowder was excellent. My friend raved about the sweetbreads and soft shelled crab!! The tables are set with linen napkins and fresh flowers and freshly baked bread and butter arrives as soon as you are seated - so the setting is welcoming from the moment you sit down! Great wine list, too!

Always a treat to eat at Duners. Did find a couple of things puzzling since our last visit. The salads that used to come with our entrees have disappeared and there was a new service charge that I didn’t see before. But all else is top notch.

Three of us on a Friday night. We wanted time to chat before dinner, but as there probably weren't going to be 3 seats at the bar, staff helped us ahead of time get a booth early. The barman didn't quite mix the Old Fashioneds right (too much bitters) and fixed it. The meal was lovely-- mussels and green salad for appetizers, then 3 different and generously sized entrees. I wanted my tenderloin rare, and I got it rare-- red and so tender. One diner wanted a NY strip medium-rare, and that's what he got. Wine selected by a French oenophile was delicious. Service was lovely. Ambience is open, airy, light, not too noisy. A lovely place for a special occasion meal.

Everything for perfect on a recent Wednesday night. I had the veggie lasagna and my companion had the crab cakes. We topped it off with a delicious homemade dessert; lemon cheesecake with fresh Berry compote. Service was impeccable. There were locally grown flowers to enhance the summer feel of the meal. One of my favorite places to dine in the Charlottesville area.

Started the evening hoping for a calm relaxing night. Dillion recognized this, and made certain our night was a success filled with fantastic food and drinks. Dillion’s passion for the business is extremely evident and welcoming. Duner’s is well worth the 1 hour drive — we will certainly return. Thanks for a great evening!

Our waitress was great and the restaurant is charming but the food was very expensive for the quality. I had very bready and bland crab cakes and runny mashed potatoes with nothing to write home about cole slaw for $38. You have got to be kidding. The other meal was just ok. Not sure if they got a new cook/chef but a fast food stop would have been far better than the meals we had. Too bad, we were looking forward to having a good place to go to. We will not be going back.

Small, noisy, and crowded. Food was pricey and mediocre. Duck was disappointing as it was tough with gristle. Crab cakes lacked any lumps and were fried in oil that had an off-putting taste. We were visiting and wanted some good local cuisine but honestly, the chains do a better job. Sad.

If you’re visiting Charlottesville, book dinner at Duner’s. The decor was a super unique combo of vintage and elegant and fun. Hard to describe. We started with the Fried Oysters and they were scrumptious! Husband had the pork chop and he said it was amazing. I had the Rock fish with polenta and it was perfect. Creamy and buttery and delicious. We finished with the chocolate torte which was also terrific. Do yourself and favor and make a reservation. Highly recommend.
