This place should not be listed on open table and allow guests to make reservations. We made a reservation and went out of our way on our vacation to show up and the hotel lobby told us the restaurant has been closed for months due to renovations. Extreme let down.
We celebrated our 1year wedding anniversary at Dune. The hostess wished us happy anniversary when she sat us. The manager helped create a mock tail for me (we are expecting) our server was attentive and the food came out perfect and tasted delicious. We are looking forward to coming back after the renovations. @tracymani_investments @superflymom3
It started at the onset. We checked in with our name, and when our table was ready the person didn't remember who we were, despite being the only people waiting. We ordered two martinis straight up with blue cheese olives and we got olives with feta cheese that appeared to have been soaked in lemons that permeated the entire drink making them disgusting. The server shrugged when we told her. A kale caesar was ordered, and all it had were 3 little pieces of kale and the rest was romaine. The grilled shrimp was ordered, and the presentation was about what our 10 year old would have done, he may have done better, and the taste was unremarkable. The only redeeming dish was the chicken, which was decent. The waitress should have removed our martinis from the bill, but she didn't seem to care how our meal was until we were leaving, and then seemed displeased when I said "ok". One would expect a better experience in a setting like the Auberge. This is the nice toned down review.
Our server Randy made us feel like we lived in the luxurious condos upstairs from the restaurant and truly gave us above and beyond service. Will highly recommend Dune to anyone visiting Ft. lauderdale for a special occasion.
The food and the ambiance were wonderful. The only problem was that our waiter from start to finish seemed as though this job was the last place he wanted to be. We were a table of 4 who all wondered what was going on in his head. He was totally inattentive and could not wait to leave. I never leave less than 20 to 30 percent tip, but felt terrible but justified in leaving only 10 percent just to make a point. Again the food was amazing but spending $350 on our party and having the night ruined by the waiter for no reason made it necessary to share these thoughts.
The Dune at Auberge was OUTSTANDING!!! My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon with them and they went above and beyond to help make our first night in FL amazing. The Salmon and Chicken dinner plates exceeded expectations. And they have the best carrot cake I have ever tasted. If COVID wasn’t a thing we would have hugged the chef, however having him visit our table so that we could thank him for the wonderful dinner was more than enough. Chris and Curtis were excellent servers. I am so thankful that I listened to yelp and decided to make a reservation at the Dunes. The cherry on top of the night was walking hand and hand with my husband on the beach after dinner. Everything was wonderful, the food, music, service, drinks, dessert, views, and decor. Thanks once again, we can’t wait to come back this Fall.
I loved this place! I will be coming back for every special event!
Love Dune for it's outdoor bar and dinner seating. It's a shame that we just found out the restaurant is changing hands once again. I just pray that the food stays as "top notch" as it was on this night and the same impeccable service. We will be back to check it out again.
Nice time at the bar outside with drinks then to our table inside for dinner. Randy did a wonderful job as our server. Food was delicious. Ended our evening at the fire pit with a glass of wine. Dune will be closing this week on the 30th. Under new owners with renovations and reopening in the Fall.
Looking forward to it and hopefully will see Randy again!!
Lovely restaurant nice menu. Everything was delicious. Our server Michael was wonderful.
Food was okay. Nothing amazing. Ambiance was awesome.
31st Anniversary...a windy night and we were inside...the door to outside was slamming and only 1 hour in did someone have the sense to do something. Our waiter wasn’t paying us the type of attention that I prefer. They’re closing in 8 days and it showed.
We went for happy hour especially for the tuna nachos. We’re told by the bartender that they don’t have them. About 45 minutes later we notice other people with the tuna nachos. Very disappointed about that we had already order appetizers by that time. Dinner at the table along with our waiter Randy was great. Sorry to hear they are closing
Food was excellent. Waiter service was spotty to unattended. Noise was particularly bad with table of screaming women across the restaurant. The manager took no action to provide decent ambiance.
Beautiful outdoor dining with. View of the o
The service at dune was top notch!
Great experience as always
I’ve eTen at quite a few 5 -Star restaurants in many different cities. I can without hesitation, verify that this was the ULTIMATE experience. The ambiance was majestic, the service by Sybil was top notch and the food was impeccable. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for a couple celebrating an anniversary or a birthday. The most romantic spot on the Eastern seaboard. Thank you DUNE for a memorable experience. Everything was A ++++++
Great Service and place is beautifully appointed. Food was excellent, not the deserts . A bit pricey for what it is
Outstanding service and food ~ truly wonderful experience!
The view was amazing and the food was just as great.
Nice view of the ocean and interior atmosphere was nice. Some food items were good and other not so great. My husbands steak was over cooked and not a good quality of meat. Our friend ordered chicken that was dry. My chicken was fine. Creamed spinach wasn’t bad but not great. Potatoes were not good at all. Shrimp appetizer was good. Service was a disappointment. Our waiter was not very attentive. One friend ordered mushrooms with her meal and never received them. When we asked the waiter for them, his response was they don’t have mushrooms and he was on overtime and we now have a new waiter. The second waiter was more attentive in the short time we had him than our first.
Food and service was amazing. Top notch all the way!!!
Waited over 1 hour to get a table although we had a frim and confirmed reservation. Were left sitting there waiting as if we were air. Totally ruined the anniversary . Horrible .
Food itself was excellent and waiter was superb.
We have dined many times there. We were seated next to the door that goes in and out. It was very noisy. It kept slamming and then another server would do it again and again. Ugh. And it was windy so every time the door opened my mother would get the wind.
Food and service has gone way down. Will not go back.
Dune is a magnificent, sophisticated beachfront restaurant, mixing informality with very high tone decor, service, and... most of all...food! In three days of dining in Ft Lauderdale, nothing touched our experience like Dune did! Kudos to the operators....
Food was amazing, was bummed I didn’t get outdoor sitting but overall great experience.
We had a great time at Dune. All of the food was delicious.
Mother’s Day. Service was great, ambiance was beautiful and relaxing. One of the best spots in town! Food and drinks were delicious as well. Portions are on the smaller side but delicious!
Food is delicious. Sitting outside is beautiful and feels safe as tables are spread apart nicely. Randy our server was very helpful and friendly.
Beautiful environment, service was a little s
Very disappointing. I’ve been to this restaurant several times. Our reservation on a Wednesday evening was at 6:30 PM. Arrived 10 minutes early. The host said that our table was not quite ready, but would be in 10 minutes. We were invited to wait at the outside oceanside bar which is quite nice. It was not very crowded in the restaurant at that time and there seem to have been several tables available, but not set. By, 6:55pm we had not yet been seated. I left my guests and went to the host to ask what was happening. She apologized and said the table was being set now. Another 10 minutes passed and finally the maitre d’ was scurrying around to set the table. We were finally seated at 7:10. This is unacceptable in a restaurant of this caliber. No apologies or offer to make amends. The waiter service was ok, but we waited 15 minutes between courses. For a restaurant of this caliber, such ineptitude is inexcusable. In sum, I’m done with Dune.
Been here before and wrote in that we wanted outside seating since there isn’t an option in open table like I’ve seen other other restaurants. We were sat outside no problem. This time I did the same thing for my party of 2, and they tried to seat us inside. I say to the hostess I requested outside and she replied “outside isn’t always guaranteed” and it would be a 20- 30 min wait even though I was looking at no less than 6 empty tables. So my friend and I decided to sit at the bar while we waited, and then just ended up eating there because the bartenders were super nice and attentive. I wouldn’t have a complaint if a party of 4 wasn’t say literally 5 mins after we were told there would be a 30 min wait. I don’t want to “play the race card” but it is quite suspicious that it wasn’t a problem for the older white couples when it was for us. Thankfully, the food was good and as I stated prior the service at the bar was impeccable. But I am considering canceling my reservation there later this month.
Great food & service as always. Just love Dune. Lindsey was a delight taking care of us.
Nothing like having dinner in a nice venue and have lousy service. Then to be hustled to vacate the outside table (after an hour +) means we won’t be returning to Dune.
Always wonderful and perfect for a special occasion
Great ambiance, service and food. Definitely recommend
