DUNE at Auberge Beach
Amazing service and atmosphere
Dining at Dunes was a great visual experience. Dining by the ocean with the great breezes blowing felt like being on a cruise ship without the rocking. The whole restaurant has a soothing calming comfortable decor.
We were taken to our seats and asked to have another table to accommodate more comfortable seating for a disability. The host or busboy or whomever gave us dirty looks several times as we tried to explain our needs and apologized to him. We were celebrating two anniversaries but no one acknowledged it.
Our waitress was quite pleasant and tried to upsell us on other items on the menu.
The food did not disappoint. Most portions were plentiful except the bronzino was small. The halibut and lamb chops were delicious as well as skirt steak. Appetizers good but expensive.
Our water glasses were neglected and our first order of yummy bread came with a literal “ schmear” of butter enough for one piece of bread. They did bring more.
Our drink orders had to be sent back for not tasting quite right and the second time took quite a while and our friends martini came back with lemons instead of limes.
Dessert of banana and coconut ice cream was good. Disappointed could not get decaf cappuccino. Would be nice for the high prices to have complimentary parking.
A big orange full moon topped off a beautiful evening.
This is my second review of Dune. The only reason we decided to try this restaurant again is because the manager was so kind to read and reply to my first review with some candid feedback. You rarely see this these days and it actually won us over to give it another try.
The food this time was as good as you are going to get in Fort Lauderdale. The quality of the food is an 8.5/10 with choices from steak and whole chicken to several fish dishes along with above average appetizers (oysters, calimari, scallops, ceviche) and salads (every salad we have tried on the menu, we really enjoyed especially the beet salad).
The service was better this time but once again, the assistant in learning really needs to take a step back and observe. The assistants seem to talk too much or put themselves in awkward settings which show how amateur they are. I'd rather them just assist until they have a full appreciation of serving. Also, one of the most important things that need to be taught in any restaurant is to never leave a customer's glass empty. Ever! We waited 20 min on getting our first drinks from the bar (we were a table of 4), we had brought 2 bottles of wine that we had to ask to be decanted 3x and the water glasses need to be clear so the water servers can easily see when to refill instead of asking every person at the table if their glass is empty. Less words, better service.
Overall, the experience was much better than before and the restaurant has potential but really needs experienced mgmt to step in and show the ropes here. I think the food and ambiance are fantastic and the best fort lauderdale has to offer but again, the service staff needs work. The good news is that people are easily replaceable in this space.
I'm really hoping this restaurant continues to take customer's feedback and improves. Maybe take the best wait staff to a few Michelin restaurants to show them what good looks like.
We will be back to try it again in a month.
Very Limited Menu value for was not there. We were there for a birthday told the hostess and was forgotten
We have eaten At Dune twice. We like to sit outdoors as it is a beautiful Ocean fronting room. The service staff is plentiful but not trained on how to observe the nuances of dining service - reaching across the table , taking plates while people are still eating. This left one of guests hurried asking for a to go bag , even thou the restaurant was not busy. The meals are interesting in creativity. But i have been served dry fish at both dining experiences. This experience i had the Monkfish with cauliflower rice. I didn't finish the meal as the fish was very dry when ask by the server i commented on this fact. Nothing happened. We enjoy the location but will not be back anytime soon for the food. Our group does not recommend Dune for a foodie experience. Drinks perhaps.
Celebrated my birthday dinner and it was great good food excellent service
Great evening! Best French fries in Fort Lauderdale
Outstanding experience. This restaurant is special.
Overall I think it was very nice, the food was a little salty but good. The service was not that great but it was mothers day.
The food, service, and ambiance were all “ top notch.” The casual-chic ambiance allowed for a relaxing but at the same time, upbeat dining experience. It was augmented, of course, by excellent service, a good bottle of wine, and most importantly, superb company.
My bronzino was delicious. Three out of the four of us had It and loved it! My husband had the lamb chops, which he found “ delicious.” The three supplementary sides were very tasty: sautéed mushrooms, roasted potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. The desserts were delicious followed by well made cappuccinos.
We will be back!
Absolute worst service over an hour to wait for our dinner it never came we walked out.
Manager told us our order was put behind a bigger order. Rude arrogant couldn’t care less. Gave us his card told us “ stop back sometime” ...
never ever would go back.
Put my thoughts on YELP ....
Beautiful restaurant, good food and great service. I suggest making reservations
Reservation was @8pm and didn’t even sit at the table till 8:45. Had to remind hostess staff multiple times that we were sitting at the bar waiting for our table. Once we sat and placed our order, server had a computer problem and our order didn’t get put in. I really do enjoy this place, not my first time there. Our server did compensate us, comped our drinks. However it was 3 hour ordeal.
Amazing outdoor area with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. The service was great - we have asked for Louis twice now, and the food was delicious!
One of our guests spilled her glass of wine from a nice bottle we had ordered. The wonderful
Server actually opened up a new bottle to replace it without a charge. We ordered another bottle regardless. Terrific!!!
We spent our anniversary dinner there. Always very good.
Beautiful ambience, inside and out. Excellent service and delicious cuisine. Definitely recommend!
Only SFL restaurant I am aware of serving monkfish. Eclectic wine list. Professional service.
Fish was excellent quality but some dishes have too many ingredients which makes it hard to taste the fish. Decor inside is mono beige and could do with a little color. Door to exterior area opens 50x during one meal so inside guests anywhere near the terrace get a gush of hot air blown over them repeatedly. Cold hot cold hot cold hot etc. I ended up with a cold the next day. Service was very friendly and professional. Overall we enjoyed it but will sit somewhere else next time.
The halibut was amazing.
A lot of noise and fury about how special this restaurant is. As you walk in, there is a buzz and it is beautiful. The food sounds like it should be fabulous. But it is really no different from all the other modern restaurants i have been to in the country. Really very good. I would go back, but only because of the buzz not because the food was so outstanding. And it is pricey.
Let me just put it in perspective. Although the ambience (of this restaurant described below) was terrible, the strip mall that restaurant i had been to the night before HAD special food.
I felt it was overpriced for a amount of food I received. Never been a fan of a la carte. Service was wonderful! The view inside and outside was top notch. Add more to the plate and they will do well.
We really enjoyed our experience. The food was great. Our service from Sharon was outstanding!
Our waiter was simply amazing, he was very well rounded with a great sense of humour and very knowledgeable!
Beautiful location and space, food was excellent service very good. Going back again tonight. My new favorite FLL restaurant
My husband and I dined for the first time at Dune for our 15-year wedding anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful, but we were expecting a younger, more energetic crowd. We’re in our early 40s and that night’s demographic was mid-50’s and older. Additionally, management closed their oceanfront outside bar because of the weather. So, we bypassed having drinks at either of their bars and were seated for dinner. The food is presented beautifully and is equally as delicious. Lots of healthy options. We definitely need a do-over.
My first visit was outstanding. However, my second visit was horrible. The host forgot about seating us, gave our table away. The service was beyond bad and when being greeted at the table we were given a sales pitch for buying a condo. Very awkward and uncomfortable.
This restaurant is highly overrated in terms of food and service. Being on the ocean is about the biggest draw for this restaurant. Otherwise it is not a good value and the deco is only mediocre.
Incredible view of beach and Atlantic. Had dinner outdoors at the bar. Excellent friendly service. Fine dining and wide selection of fine wines by the glass. Great experience.
Our waiter was Tony. He was excellent.
We loved everything.
Wonderful venue !
Delicious food and amazing ambiance.
Beatiful new restaurant delicious bread, great service
Beautiful setting with great brunch options! Had a wonderful time here and would highly recommend to check it out, one of the only places in Ft. Lauderdale you can dine on the beachfront.
Our 2nd visit and it was as spectacular as our 1st visit. Very enjoyable evening!!!
The waiter brought an $80 bottle of wine without informing us the price. He was nasty. He brought two initial glasses of wine at $20 per glass. Very unhappy. This was on Saturday April 27th, 2019. I made my reservations for 7:30pm and was not called. I went to the greeting area at 7:45pm. She said there is only inside seating. While there was empty uncleared tables outside. I feel like I was cheated on by the waiter over $120. My bill at the bar happy hour was $70.62. The dinner bill was $177.02 plus tip. I should have left no tip. Total $204.52 for two cheeseburgers. Will never go back and I will put this on Yelp and other sites if the manager does not call me. Simin Adham. 301-514-6270
Beautiful surroundings, warm and attentive service, and good food. We were pleased to find this new gem so close to home with the ambiance of being on an exotic vacation.
We were very pleased. The ambiance was excellent with the spaciousness and great views of the ocean. We will definitely visit again. Food was excellent as well...my only complaint is the portion sizes could have been a bit larger considering the cost (however, they were not minuscule portions) -Joe T.
