DUNE at Auberge Beach
Great service and wonderful ambiance. The food was okay for my taste, I would come back for the outdoor ocean views, wonderful service, and beautiful restaurant setting but food would not be the reason for me to return.
Got pretty good food for a lot of money.
Beautiful atmosphere and impeccable service. Wonderful meal. Exceptional waiter. Totally a lovely experience.
Very disappointing. Food just fair. Seemed like they just wanted to move us out service was so fast.
Overall it was terrible!
We waited 20 minutes for a table and I made the reservation a week before. The hostess was very inexperienced. We had to ask her 3x to seat us.
The boy who took us to the table said to me where are we going? And we said you tell us!!!!
No experienced host in sight.
So poorly run for an upscale restaurant.
Then seated at a table with freezing blowing air on us.
Asked for an empty booth they said reserved for 6 people. 15 minutes later there were 3 people at that table ugh!
We were 4 people! They lied to us .
So poorly run I can’t say anymore . Food was decent but really restaurant not deserving of more than 2 stars!
Really this restaurant in an auberge resort? Don’t think so and don’t waste your money!!!!
The restaurant is stunning. So beautiful. Right on the ocean. But the food is only average. Fried calamari were fresh but rather bland. Side dishes Brussels sprouts and sautéed mushrooms also bland. (I coincidentally had Brussels sprouts for lunch at the Downtowner on the new river, which were much better) Flank steak was delicious and well cooked. Chocolate cake underwhelming.
Great place. Good food, service. Low noise. Recommended.
Excellent food out of the ordinary and excellent service. Conversation friendly which is hard to find.
Happy hour apps were great dinner also great
On the ocean. 1st class place
It's very lovely, but our waitress seemed put off when we said the wine wasn't cold enough. She said she couldn't understand why we thought it wasn't cool enough, because the wine had been on ice. (Each of us had ordered wine by the glass.) Another woman obligingly stepped in with wine that had been chilled in the cooler. She was super accommodating and nice and the wine was perfect.
When we left we saw perhaps 15 bottles of wine sitting in a shallow box of ice near the bar -- obviously not the best solution for keeping wine properly chilled.
I've been there twice and likely won't be back. If you're a bar/restaurant on the beach, charging high prices, you'd best be sure your service is par excellence. Sorry, but it isn't.
I’ve only been to Dune twice and each time was a fantastic experience.
Service is attentive and food innovative. It’s a beautiful place and you won’t be disappointed.
Ambiance was beautiful but the service was horrible. The waiter did not properly introduce himself, and was very non chalant with everything.
We arrived an hour early for our 9:30 reservation. They said that they would seat us closer to our reservation time. But they would come get us from the bar or something opened up sooner. Completely understandable. However there were several open tables that we could see and no one ever came and got us. Had a few drinks at the bar, amazing service. Bartender answered all questions about cocktails. At 9:30 my father reminded the hostess that we were there and she sat us at a table that had been open since we walked in. Our server did not know the menu AT ALL. I pointed out a dish on the table next to us, and she interrupted the other server at that table to ask what it was. We ordered oysters and all she could point out was which were east coast and which were west. My mom asked about the Rib Eye and what was served with it and the server said “whatever it says on the menu.” Beautiful restaurant, and a great menu, but a server at a place of this caliber should really be a bit more familiar with what they’re serving.
Beautiful restaurant. Appetizer portion small but tasty.
We all ate fish entrees for dinner and found the taste to
Be uninteresting in its flavor.
The live music was a nice treat that complemented the beautiful
Ambience of the restaurant.
Restaurant is beautiful....
From the moment we arrived we were treated very well. Loved the ambiance, food and everything was outstanding.
Would highly recommend it.
DUNE is the difference between eating and dining out. We have visited on several occasions since they opened and are happy to see the growth, both in patronage and menu. Some of our favorites are the crab spatzle appetizer, the various fishes and the rack of lamb. The bar drinks are great and they allow corkage, which makes us happy as oenophiles. Can't wait to try Sunday brunch.
We started with happy hour out on the patio overlooking the ocean. Saturday nights till 7 PM you have to order at the bar and then we took it over to a high top. The appetizers we had were lobster roll, calamari and tuna sashimi. We liked the calamari and sashimi best. Lobster rolls were too buttery and very small.
We then proceeded into the dining room where we were taken to a lovely table and were greeted with warm wet towels to wash her hands. There was also a three-piece jazz band playing music on the other end of the restaurant. We did not eat dinner outside as they said a storm was coming but that never happened. Two of us had lamb chops which were four double lamb chops and were very good. My husband had the Bronzino which was a small portion but he seems to have liked it. My girlfriend’s husband had the skirt steak and am not sure if he loved it. I think both men would have chosen the lamb chops if they go back. We then shared their chocolate chip cookie dessert with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream for our birthdays. I was the only one that had coffee and it was really really good coffee. Their service was very good and the waitresses were very friendly. The valet parking was five dollars and was added to our bill. All in all we had a very nice evening and we all said we would go back. Beautiful location right on the beach.
I do think the food menu needs to be more diverse as it was extremely limited. Plus their desserts did not sound outrageous to entice you into having it. There were many eating the $85 grill for two which looked delicious.
The two appetizers and bread service were delicious. The grouper entree was good, but they cooked the lamb chops well done when medium was requested. Our server was very nice but we did not receive the top of the line service you would expect at a restaurant such as Dune. Our dessert came about 7 minutes prior to the coffee arriving and our server and assistant virtually disappeared the final 30-40 minutes of our meal. When we received our check at the end, they should have removed the lamb from our bill and we had to request it. It is surprising that a well done lamb chop could get past the cook, expo and the server. I am relatively easy to please and don’t typically complain, but this was warranted. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful and the wine delicious, but our overall experience was very underwhelming.
This is one of the nicest restaurants in Fort Lauderdale right now!
It’s gorgeous decor and ambience is a perfect date night setting. We sat inside but outside is a beautiful view.
The food was amazing along with service. We got the surf & turf for 2 and everything was perfect.
Definitely our fav place for dinner! Can’t wait to go back!
Great experience. Love the ambiance, delicious food, great wine list, fantastic and knowledgeable service. I highly recommend.
Server was very nice. Food was ok
We were seated 30 min late on a table that was right under an AC vent making us really cold. We asked to be re-seated and they did.
The service was so so and so was the food.
Food and Ambiance are terrific. Unfortunately the server needs more training.
Outstanding experience! From the atmosphere, service and food, everything was great. I would highly recommend Dune.
Overall our experience was amazing aside from the waiter (JP). He was very inattentive and almost appeared to be "on something". We had to find him every time to place our drink order, our food order, order more wine, etc. His assistant saved the day thankfully (Christian). Aside from that..the restaurants ambience was so cool, beautiful location right on the water, great food, great wine list and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. I look forward to going back to check out their Happy Hour. Glad to have a new local hot spot.
The food and service at dinner was wonderful. The drinks and service at "happy hour" was disappointing .
Food and ambiance was great. The only a little to cold.
Amazing!! The food was beyond amazing, at the oysters the fresh fish. The service was top-notch.
It was our second time there...It is going from "The Dunes" to "The Doomed"! Watered down martinis for $17.00!!!!! The food came to the table cold! Table next to us were disgruntled with the father walking out. Will NEVER go to this restaurant again. To call them amateur is an insult to amateurs! There are plenty of restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. Stay Away!
Horrible experience with the being sat near patio doors. It was super windy and instead of sending staff around they kept coming in and out of the doors that slammed every time. Not great
Food is fantastic... a table of two and both shared apps, along with the bread and the bottle of wine came out at the same time. Entire meal was over in an hour and a half. And the wind... omg the wind. The entire restaurant is a wind tunnel. But again the food was fantastic.
The ambiance, food and wait staff were great! Our waiter was Christian. The crab appetizer and lamb chops were really good. Would highly recommend
Great service from the moment I arrived
(Valet service, hostess and bartender)
Excellent dinning experience
Went at 5:30. Bartenders were cordial. Service was attentive. Food excellent. By 7:30 the noise level rose and the place got hectic. Go, but go early.
Great service and collaboration between serving staff. Excellent food. First impression from hostess not the best. Not welcoming or hospitable. Otherwise a good experience. We will return.
Friendly and natural staff! Our waiter was Jordan. He was informed and made great suggestions! Great coffee too and key lime tart!
Beautiful restaurant and large bar, food was awesome. There take of the Caesar Salad is amazing.Delicous calamari followed by red snapper and bronzino. There bread that they offer is excellent and our dessert was lychee sorbet with a seaform hibiscus. My husbands still dreaming about that desert so good. They made excellent Margaritas and cappuccino. We will be back.
