Duke's Seafood & Chowder - Bellevue
New favorite restaurant! Great service, outstanding and unique seafood. So darn good. Highly recommended
One of our tablemates had some concerns about his entree. The server, Nestor, was completely open and receptive to resolving any issues. My entree, a special Copper River salmon with goat cheese and a blueberry compote was splendid. The other two entrees, a special short ribs and a pair of skewers with prawns and scallops were fantastic as well. Dukes is quite convenient for Eastsiders, and that makes up for the slightly pricey entrees and noise level. I highly recommend it for a relaxing albeit noisy ambiance.
We had a great meal and our waiter was awesome
The food was heavenly and the service was first class
Service was absolutely fabulous. Staff is flexible and accommodating. Feel free to ask them anything without feeling uneasy about it. I’ve been to Dukes about seven times in the past 6 months. The food is really good. I’d give it GREAT if they are a bit easier on cooking fish. The fish tends to be slightly over cooked and this frustrates me a bit.
Delicious food! The maple bacon & prawn/scallop appetizer was amazing. Entrees- the stuffed whitefish and the seafood mixed grill- were really nicely seasoned and cooked exactly right. Our server, Kelson, was attentive without hovering and very welcoming. He provided helpful recommendations and I’d happily ask to sit in his section next time.
Ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Fine food but without the stuffiness. I love the dark wood and cozy low light levels. I was a bit annoyed with the parents who let their kids run up & down the aisle but that’s a parenting judgment fail, not the restaurant’s issue. I know of no good way a staff person could say “Excuse me, could you rein in your kids?” without getting scorched on social media. My solution will be to dine later when it’s past their bed time.
Portions of actual seafood were VERY small. For the price was a little disappointed. Filled up the plate with potatoes give you 3 tiny scallops and 3 even tinier shrimp
Excellent customer service
Excellent food and service.
We go to both the South Center and Bellevue Dukes and are never disappointed!
We moved our Daughter to Bellevue for a new career opportunity and heard what a great place Duke’s is.
We made a reservation and enjoyed everything we ordered.
As a gift for my daughter I bought Duke’s cookbook and was asked if we would like Duke to autograph it since he was on site.
Duke was so gracious he brought it to our table and sat down with us for a few minutes. He went out of his way to welcome our daughter to Bellevue and really showed what a great guy he is.
We will be making Dukes our first choice restaurant.
A bit expensive and the choices do not change very often. A stable and nice place to eat in downtown Bellevue
I would like to say yes, but the halibut was rubbery and the cioppino was bland with 2 prawns and zero clams or muscles and a tiny amount of crab. This is not what we are used to at Dukes. It was disappointing.
Rockfish taco is amazing. It is huge though, so one is more than enough 😁. Also the salmon sliders are always a great starter. Excellent service and recommendations from the waiter.
Clam Chowder was wonderful. Alcohol drinks were very nice.
Wait staff was wonderful and attentive.
Four friends and I met for lunch at Duke's to celebrate a birthday. The waiter was attentive, the food outstanding, and it was quiet enough so we all could easily converse at our round table. It's my third visit to the new Bellevue venue and will be back often.
The atmosphere was a bit louder than I enjoy, but the gluten-free menu was great. All the chowders were gluten free and the one my husband ordered was delicious. I had the cheese and crab stuffed halibut. The flavors were amazing and I left happy.
We have eaten here a few times in the past year. A few weeks ago we ordered the Halibut and Chips. It wasn’t good. Extremely over cooked, dry, tasteless and chewy. The manager sent us a gift certificate and we decided to give it another try. So I ordered the Halibut and Chips again and it was a disappointment. Exactly the same as the last time. So DON’T order the Halibut and Chips . However the Crab Cakes were good.
Celebrated my birthday with a lovely dinner! Even got a sourdough loaf to take home!
I met my friend who had never been to this location of Dukes. She loved our visit to the Alki location in summer, so I decided to meet here in Bellevue. We had a great experience. She loved the decor, with all of the fishing poles, and adored her lunch. Fish and chips are her go-to dish, and the unchopped seafood salad is mine. We were not disappointed. Our server was very good and we had a wonderful time visiting.
I’ve been to the one in Southcenter. They have excellent drinks, but the one in downtown Bellevue has a nice setting. But for the quality of the food, those prices are too high. I wouldn’t come back there, other than just for drinks.
Can't tell you how many times we've been to Duke's, but can say this was the first and most disappointing. We were seated (4 of us) in a cramped booth but the staff was very gracious about finding us a nice table very quickly. Our waiter came in a timely manner, was very engaging and we thought we were in for a treat. That was the best part. The downfall was the actual food. Duke's is one of our favorite restaurants since there's so much for us to choose from (we don't eat meat.) We brought another couple with us who asked about the Copper River Salmon because it's out of season. Our server explained the process for freezing this salmon and that it's almost like fresh when they prepare it. Well, the first "try" came and was served timely with the other 3 orders and......not only was it cold, it was raw! The waiter was very apologetic taking it back, making it over entirely. The other 3 of us were almost done with our dinner when his was finally brought...more well done (he asked for medium) and not tasty. The waiter did not charge for that dish in the end, which we would have expected. But it kind of put a damper on things. My husband always orders the salmon Caesar and was happy. I ordered a rockfish taco which was okay....but lukewarm. I just ate it. I certainly hope this isn't a trend at this new Duke's! The nice thing was it wasn't busy (later Sunday night) and we were able to visit with our friends for several hours at our table. We ordered tea & coffee and were never offered refills, however.
Great selection and the food is always fresh and good!
Nice spot with a reasonable noise level. Diverse menu with something for everyone. Good service.
Dukes is consistently my 'go to' place. This recent visit was a birthday celebration. We received great service and the pumpkin ravioli with scallops was exceptional.
Good food and great service
Not only did we recommend Dukes Bellevue to friends, we took our family there Sunday afternoon and now they are fans! Great staff, amazing food, sustainable, local, and the coupons will keep us introducing this great local establishment to friends and family.
We shared a birthday lunch here with our friends. If you are in their email club, the birthday deals are amazing. We chose free desserts for the four of us.
There are so many good things to eat here, I have a hard time choosing. The food is always fabulous. Our server, Cameron, was really good. Thanks for a great time!
the oysters were amazing. So sweet and fresh. The Bloody mary was a meal itself or at least an apetizer.
Family eats here regularly - good quality seafood and great options for kids - the grilled salmon for the kiddos is outstanding and our girls love it!
This past visit - service was the best! Didn't catch your name, but very attentive! Thank you.
Our waiter was super attentive.
Duke's has become our family's go-to place for special occasions and group dinners. The service is always friendly and efficient. I feel like we receive our food faster at Duke's with a large group than at other restaurants when dining with a smaller party. I love that Duke's sources sustainably for the seafood and beef and that there are gluten-free options. Best of all, the price point is totally worth it for the size and quality of each dish!
Very expensive for lunch. Nice ambiance. Ok food. Lots of choices in Bellevue. Wouldn’t probably return
Delicious! How could you go wrong with a Seattle institution?! My salmon was perfectly cooked and the side veggies and potatoes went with it great. The bread was hard to stop eating!
Delightful waitress with a sense of humor. Food was very good , as always. So thankful Duke’s has a very good selection of gluten free items and understands the needs of people with Celiac Disease. Thank you to all the staff at Duke’s. Wishing you all a Happy New Year 2019.
The food isnt particularly good. I have tired this place 3 times now and the food seems to get worse. Something on the plate is always cold and all the food feels very greasy.
Went with another couple after a New Year's Eve movie. The food, as always, was delicious. Had a super fun waiter! Last New Year's Eve went to a different Bellevue restaurant at about the same time. The DJ had the music so loud that we could not talk. This was a VERY pleasant experience at Duke's. It was busy noisy as one would expect but we could talk and hear each other. We had a very enjoyable time.
We had a crab cake as a starter. It was tiny, tasted ok... but we were pretty disappointed to see a tiny single crab cake (just one) come out for starter. For that price of $16 you should get at least 2-3 crab cakes. What a terrible way to start off.
We also ordered fish and chips (cod) and salmon salad - it was really average. The fish tasted like fish finger quality you would get from Wallmart. The fish was also perfectly square making you again think of fish fingers. Salad was just average with a small piece of salmon.
Chowder was the best thing we had and still not that great and tiny serving sizes.
Overall a really average restaurant with boring overpriced food and really fake “couldn’t care less” service.
New Year’s Eve
It’s a good experience
