We always book in at the Duel in the Sun when we’re in Ayrshire - fabulous place, gorgeous scenery - eat early and take a walk along to the lighthouse for the sunset. The restaurant has huge tables so you’re not cramped, the food is lovely and the small plates menu (before 6pm) is a lovely idea if you don’t want a massive meal. The staff are lovely and the estate is beautiful. The only other place we’ve eaten as good as this is the Stillwater bar and grill at Pebble Beach. We will definitely be back (again!)

The service and the view were fantastic. The food was ok. The naan bread with the curry was out of a packet and the sticky toffee pudding was dry and hard.
