About
We love Dui Mare and wanted to go one more time before it closed.
We went on a Sunday, mid-day for brunch. The ambience is nice but the food is mediocre and the service was slow, although the restaurant was not crowded. I understand this restaurant is closing this month, so it may be the reason.
Wonderful dinner, both food and service.
Ours was a business dinner. Everything great. Go in the next week as they are closing.
Good selections. Really enjoyed the beet salad, tuna crudo and branzino. Excellent service. Sorry to hear the restaurant is scheduled to close before year end.
Food and service was great. Went for brunch and it doesn't disappoint. Ended with the Bomboloni, ricotta doughnuts with caramel sause...to die for....
Good food, great service
We will miss it greatly when it is gone after Dec 22. Best Italian Restauraunt in Central Jersey! Where are we going to find the best pasta and Margarita flat bread without driving a long way?
We had made reservation but upon arrival had to sit in bar area then was told that we could order from bar menu then told we couldn’t
After ordering had to wait almost an hour for food was told they got backed up
Food was great as expected. Service was a bit off. Our primary server was really attentive but overwhelmed with too many tables. The food runners were numerous and unorganized. A bit rough as well.
It was good. Not perfect.
Lovely small restaurant in downtown New Brunswick on the corner of Albany St (across street from Hyatt). Parked at hotel parking lot ($10). Dinner for two was under $100 which is very reasonable. Staff was friendly, knew their menu well. Pleasant ambience. Empty at 6:00PM, full around 7:30.
This place is cooking on all burners !
As usual, a lovely meal expertly presented and served.
Had the grilled seafood combination. Really very good. Salad was also excellent. Easily enough to share. Service was very pleasant. Recommend going on weekdays when it’s much less crowded.
I am very disappointed , I made reservations for a party of 4 and was expecting ting to be seated in the main dining room , upon arrival i was told that there was not a table available at the time and o would have to wait for one to free up since the patrons were staying longer than expected !
Since I was there with friends I did not want to create a situation where I would speak to the manger , but I will probably not be returning to your restaurant ! Also the menu has changed dramatically and not really in a good way ! I don’t expect t to spend close to 300$ and sit in a bar area !

What wonderful service and amazing food!
Really enjoyed my cocktail and shared 3 appetizers yummy, enjoyed meal but lobster was a little tough probably should have had it with just shrimp which were perfectly cooked. My husband really enjoyed his duck thought it was perfectly prepared. Other diner enjoyed her short ribs too
Food was fantastic. We happen to be there on a Sunday night which was 50% off all pasta dishes so my husband was delighted. I had the branzino which was delicious. They also were very accommodating as I did not want bread so they brought me carrots and celery sticks. They also made me a fruit and cheese plate for dessert. Highly recommend
Food and service were exceptional. Will be returning.
Food Delicious, Drinks AMAZING. Highly recommended.
Food bread and service was all great. The Garganelli is to die for
We eat at Due Mari around once a week. This was a dinner with friends on a Saturday night which is unusual for us. It was crowded, but the service was exemplary and the food superb. I must say that the restaurant needs some TLC. The lighting is getting a bit thread bare.
The meal was delicious. Service was impeccable. Would certainly recommend!
It was very nice for a special occasion. Service and food was great. I highly recommend
A great dining experience!
Perfect. Managers and staff were present and ready to assist the excellent staff
Server was very good and attentive the food was average and I thought with the amount of food you got it was extremely overpriced. With two drinks and entrée no sides it was $70 per person. I was still hungry when I left.
I held my wifes birthday party there. The food was fantastic. Every dish was spectacular. The service was exceptional. I will be back for non occasions
Great food in a quiet side room by the front door. Attentive, but not overbearing service. A bit pricey, but definitely a great experience.
A special Birthday celebration and the manager was wonderful! We loved her.
Always a great meal! The Bronzino and burrata were fabulous. Veal was tender and the calamari was great. We were in the small room overlooking the street it was quiet and intimate. Service first rate!! Can’t wait to return.
Didn’t know what to expect when I got there but it was a very nice place to have dinner for the last minute planning. Food was delicious and the service was great. Bit price but overall nice place for everyday dinner or a date night!!
The food was awesome and beautifully displayed as well. We enjoyed it and would certainly go back!
Food and service very good. The minimal menu was OK for that night; however, it does not allow for regular visits. Boring. Not even any specials. Saturday night crowd very small. This very good restaurant needs a refreshing lift.
A very enjoyable evening. We started with shrimp cocktail. We split an order of the tagliatelle bolognese. The pasta here to excellent so it is impossible to skip that course. Entrees were veal Milanese and salmon. The portions were not really large but we were so full from the pasta that we couldn’t finish our meals. We had great advice from the sommelier which really accented our meal.
We love this place! We are impressed every time we go! The staff goes out of their way to make sure that you are treated like royalty! Water and delicious, hot bread was served immediately, and the appetizers literally came out within a minute (we had oysters....yum!!) Next, just a few minutes later, our delicious entrees were served. I had the Branzini, and my husband had the salmon salad. Both dishes were prepared to perfection, and we enjoyed every bite! While we were waiting for our scrumptious hazelnut mousse dessert, we were pleasantly surprised by a gentleman in a suit (the owner or manager, perhaps) with fresh, just out of the oven chocolate chip cookies! We were also given biscotti with our coffee. Overall I would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant to everyone! We will be back soon!! 😄
Great service and the seafood was very fresh! Definitely one of the best Italian restaurant in town.
Great food and wine.
Great service.
Cool atmosphère.
I will be back👍
My wife and I have dinner at Due Mari a couple of times a month, sometimes more. We held her retirement party there in June. We held her 60th birthday there too. It is our favorite restaurant. The staff are cheerful, capable, and attentive, and they will win you over. The wine list is modest in size but very well-chosen, with good choices at a range of prices, and they do a great job with cocktails as well. You can have a n anniversary or birthday dinner or special date at Due Mari because everything is very nice, the dining room is lovely, and everything comes together to meet your need for something special, but you can also relax and have a more casual dinner there and not feel like you've committed some kind of offense. All of that is great, but it is the consistent excellence of the food that brings us back again and again.
My favorite menu options include the Romana salad (romaine lettuce, radicchio, croutons, parmesan, anchovy vinaigrette), the Bocconcini (tomato-braised chicken & eggplant meatballs, fresh mozzarella, basil), Chitarra (pasta with lobster, shrimp, tomatoes, garlic, chili), and Steak Frites (prime strip steak, béarnaise, fries). For dessert, I like the Budino (caramelized milk chocolate, hazelnut-cocoa nib crumble, sweet cream) - my wife prefers the Panna Cotta (sweet vanilla cream, pistachio crumble, strawberry granita, basil).
Parking is available around the corner in the Church Street parking deck, or across Neilson Street at the Hyatt.
Exceptional experience - food and service was outstanding.
