Such a high level of service. We really enjoyed our visit. We had a window table which makes nice viewing. We shared a strawberry bruschetta to start. That was followed by the black ink pasta..yum! Dinners were veal with burrata and scallops. Both delicious!
Among the best Italian restaurant in the neighborhood.
Always a winner
Wonderful service on Easter. 1st time here and everything was delicious. You must try the corn-flake crusted French toast. To die for! Everything was honestly delicious! Will definitely be back again!
Excellent food. We went for my wife's birthday. It was the night before Easter so the restaurant was relatively quiet with just a few customers.
We opted for the pre-fix menu for $65/per person, which included appetizer, pasta entree, main entree and dessert. Everything was outstanding! We could not even eat our desserts we were so full so we took them with us.
Nice ambiance and excellent service.
We would highly recommend for fine dining for a relatively good value.
Good food, overpriced.
Loved the duck chops!!!
I brought my girlfriend here for my one year anniversary and had a wonderful time. It was the first day of the the spring menu, and the service team was very transparent about that, being that they were getting used to the new menu and the guests may experience a wait. All in all, my girlfriend and I will definitely be back, as we'd like to see what the experience is like at the bar. Can't wait to return!
Service was disappointing. It appeared they didn’t have enough staff.
Nice dining. Food was very flavorful. Nicely seasoned. Relaxed atmosphere. Just a tad long on the wait between courses but otherwise it was a nice dining experience.
I enjoy nice restaurants and dont mind the price tag so long as the service and food are justified by the price. This restaurant delivered on both. We even stayed after dinner and sat at the bar enjoying the bar tenders company while he tried to impress us with his skills. His cocktails were better then dessert. The only down side to this pleasant evening was the fact that we picked this place because they had live jazz music. They were really goood but barely played more the three songs.
Service and meal options are consistently well presented/tasty. The tablecloths and napkins are sparkling clean. The wait staff works efficiently and pleasantly. Most of all Due Mari in New Brunswick, NJ is a sophisticated dining experience that I enjoy introducing to friends frequently.
Reservation was confirmed via email and automated text - which I like. We were seated on time. Although it wasn’t too crowded and we were not in a rush, it still took the waitress 10mins just to greet us. No explanation of the menu and the waitress didn’t check on us much. We had to ask another waiter for bread and to pay for our meal. Excellent food, atmosphere and cocktails. Definitely coming back to try some appetizers, Branzino entree (looked great) and give the staff a second chance. Prices were moderate: average of about $40pp with a drink.
We went to the brunch and the omelette was delicious and came with great choices so up to 4 items such as shrimp, crab avocado and many others. It also came with great potatoes and some fruit. We ordered a side of bacon which was thick cut and very good.
first time back in long time. even better than i expected
Ordered the prix fix dinner. Everything was delicious! And even had leftovers!
Waitress took our order and disappeared. The "price fix" menu was over priced for what you got. The martini's were "Manhattan" prices. The first check we received was not for our table; the waitress was very contrite and just crumpled the check in front of us. The next check we received included $43.00 worth of deserts that were to be included in our price fix dinners. There was no apology or explanation for this mistake. The final check was delivered by someone who didn't serve us. We asked for our waitress but was told "she is busy!" The entire experience was a "bad taste" in our mouths. We will ever return and never recommend this terrible restaurant. This was the most expensive dinner we have ever hard for so-so food! Any questions?
love this place! good food and service time and time again!
The clam dish did not have clams in it. The wine had lint in it.
Great brunch prior to State Theater event. Waiter exceptional.
Nice brunch menu. Interesting choices.
Food was excellent, service was great. The short ribs were out of this world!!!
I have enjoyed Due Mari over time but I thought the valentines special was over prices for $80 and my filet was ok, a little touch.
Love their happy hour and great pasta
Overrated expensive restaurant with good food and service but not worth the money. Overpriced and we will not go back.
Master class service. Enough said.
Valentine’s day. The duck was cold. My veal was ok, but the fixed menu price was no value and the ambiance not special—we were seated in the bar aisle. Our appetizers were taken to someone else’s table first. Service seemed haphazard. The music entertainment seemed unaccomplished. $240 with tip for two people. We are not returning.
It was nice
The pastry chef Nicole made our night! We sat at the chef’s table facing the dessert prep area and kitchen. She really went out of her way to explain how the desserts are made, was super friendly and helped us select our final course which of course was delicious. We’d go back just to see her.
I am not sure if I am sensitive but I could not understand why I had to wait for about 20 minutes in the bar until my table became ready. I called in advance that I will be 10 minutes late for my reservation but I got there 5 minutes late and many tables empty on the rainy Saturday around 2 pm. the server said ‘I am all by myself, so please wait, ok?’ when I asked when my table was going to be ready after waiting for over 10 minutes. I was surprised because I was expecting to be informed about approximate time for me to be seated. What is the point to make reservation if it’s not respected. I was nervous if my guest would show while being still seated in the empty bar. There was no one else waiting during this time and I just waited without any prediction. After this situation, I couldn’t really enjoy the rest of the meal and I didn’t want to make my guest who joined me later to feel awkward, so I just pretended whole time to be pleasant. I am not sure why this happened and this kind of situation tends to make me feel conscious if this happened due to my skin color. I hope it was not from such a reason.
Always a hit for business or otherwise
Tables too close to crowded noisy bar. Food was good but noise at bar did not make the meal enjoyable. Staff was not very accommodating to the situation.
It was our fourth anniversary and the food was very delicious.
Everything was great with the exception of the Frito Misto
Time to change the oil. Off taste, a bit dark & greasy. We had it a week prior at Osteria Morini. Much better.
That’s the Eason for 4 /5 stars.
Food was good but not over the top. Some unusual sauce combinations. But service was not up to snuff. Had to ask for everything —water bread drinks menu ck and ck payment. Waitress was either over worked it distracted. Lower your expectations and you’ll enjoy.
This is my favorite restaurant in New Brunswick. It is on the pricey side, but worth it if you want something special. Nice choice of Cocktails to choose from. The tuna appetizer with fresh acorn squash was light and good. I highly recommend their homemade gnocchi- they melt in your mouth. The branzino (fish) complimented with acorn purée and finely chopped fresh vegetables was the perfect size plate. The desserts and fresh coffee were a perfect ending to a date night experience. The service was spot on - my water glass was always full. Enjoy! I can’t wait fo go back again.
New Year’s Eve dinner was excellent! Our second time and we were very pleased with both the quality and service especially on a holiday. We will be back! Thank you.
Small portion high price . Went on news years eve and was rushed out in about hour . For two people with one drink bill was 250
We met two years ago at the bar and are getting married next year. We meet back every year now to rejoice at our favorite place!
They do nice a job. It’s a upscale Manhattan feel in New Brunswick restaurant . Circle bar. The bartenders are ok, old fashions are half a glass with a rock ice cube but 17 bucks which is completely over priced. The fish are fresh food production is quick. Service is usually on point but not during college break ( you can tell people are away). They get 8 bucks for still which again slightly high for that water. 4-6 should be.
Two people with alcohol will be around 150-200.00. If you do prefix same thing. Only way you win if no dessert. we will
Continue to come back because the branzino is on point and the place is two miles away for us.
