My wife and I eat there fairly regularly. Great food, friendly staff, we love it!
Everything was outstanding, as one might expect from the goat empire!
We eat here about 10 times a year and always amazing. Today was also amazing.
Pig cheek, goat dumplings were amazing. Peking duck cooked to perfection, skin was crisp but light, not chewy. Sides for the duck were delicious. Only 4 pancakes came with duck initially, however we requested additional and these were brought promptly. Mango dessert was refreshing, interesting combination of flavors
The food and service were on point and top of things. They were very considerate of our requests and any potential dietary restrictions.
Loved it! From the decor to the food to the service, highly recommend it! Definitely get the shishito peppers - they’re amazing!
Great food fast service nice experience
Everything from the soundtrack to the dessert was absolutely on point. We had the Duck Hearts, the Duck and goat spring rolls, the Octopus salad, the green beans, the Pork Belly, the Duck fried rice, and the Coconut Cloud. Do yourself a favor and go to Duck Duck Goat.
Food was ok but I expected better. I was charged for a dessert without requesting one since it was my dates birthday, which struck me as odd.
We came for a birthday dinner and absolutely loved the food! The goat slap noodles were a hit and our server was kind enough to treat us to a free birthday ice cream. The only thing to note is the tables are very close together and the environment is so loud, you’re more likely to hear the conversations next to you than your own.
Fun and delicious, best with 4 or more so you can try everything.
It’s just a great place. All though the options are limited for Vegans, the food is excellent. The staff was very helpful/respectful.
Celebrating an accomplishment.
Food was, as advertised, reasonably authentic; in fact, more authentic than most fusion restaurants. Will be back to explore the menu further, and to try dim sum. All in all, great find!
Great decor. Too loud. Food good but not as good as last time. Delicious moo shu and pecan cauliflower.
Wasn’t my favorite. The goat plate had good flavor but not into chewy meat. Would definitely try a different plate going forward.
Great date night place
Very possible we got the wrong things. Most other reviews are great and we loved Girl and the Goat. We started with the beef wonton soup which was so salty it was hard to finish. We then moved on to the spicy chicken with tasted like any fried chicken you'd find at a Buffalo Wild Wings. We finished with braised beef noodles. That was the best of the three but nothing special or interesting.
My two experiences at Duck Duck Goat have been outstanding. The food is out of this world good and the service and atmosphere are terrific, too. I highly recommend!
We enjoyed our meal. Very good traditional Chinese dishes with a twist. Probably won’t eat here again as it was a little difficult to get to from the northern suburbs. I don’t enjoy using chopsticks so it would have been nice to have been offered western utensils rather than trying to catch the attention of a server to ask.
The food was excellent! Our waiter Troy was awesome and was very helpful with ordering off the menu.
Service is very friendly and FAST. Food is outstanding, but not interplanetary. Yes, it's a lot of fresh and very unique Chinese dishes--and extremely difficult to choose 3-6 dishes, so another visit will be in the works very soon. Server Katie was luminous and as friendly as I've ever met. The place obviously can be loud, but when you have a packed house, that's bound to happen!
Standouts (besides Katie):
Peking Duck (which they only serve twice an hour, so make a reservation at 5pm and tell your server immediately)
Beef slap noodles
heavenly citrus cake dessert with coconut foam
There is a takeout window, which I'm assuming gets a TON of action.
Overall, this spot is a 100% must try if you can sneak a table.
Always a great evening! No better place in Chicago for a great dinner!
Very fine Chinese fare. Host and wait staff are (were for us) friendly and helpful.
Had dinner here on a Sunday. Table was ready, service was great. The food was good but somehow didn't click for me. Nothing wrong with it, and the combinations/presentations were interesting, but the flavors just weren't my thing. Maybe I just don't like goat :-). Definitely different from most casual Chinese food, which is not a bad thing.
Great food as always. Service was a bit weak and we were charged for a drink we had sent back.
top 5 meals of my life & i travel often. WOW!
It was very noisy. Very difficult to carry on a conversation.
Wonderful meal at Duck Duck Goat! The service was friendly, the food was delicious, and they made my birthday very special. Will come back again for sure!
The peanut and shrimp dumplings were very good as were the scallion pancakes. Everything is designed to be shared family style and they have a gluten-free menu. The decor was warm and inviting with Asian flair. We very much enjoyed the Chongqing Chicken with the spice and grilled shishito peppers. It definitely needed some white rice to tame the heat. The black bean and garlic green beans is a classic executed with the addition of fried shallots and cashews. Would go back for the food, but the tables are close and the noise level is loud.
Always an absolute hit - take everyone I know here.
Such delicious food. The green beans were to die for, and we also loved the Pekan chicken and the beef short rib dupmplings. Such a gem of a restaurant!
Stopped in after a day in the city For lunch. Food was outstanding but service was lackluster. I had to go to the bar myself to get drinks since I never saw our server. My issue wouldn’t be this way at 7:30 on a weekend but not 4:45 on a Sunday. Food was incredible and definitely worth it but it felt that my server rides the coat tails of an incredible culinary experience.
Bit pricey and noodles were salty but that soft serve is to die for. Definitely coming back
The best meal we had during a weekend trip to Chicago - all of the dim sum choices we made were delicious, and it was great how the server staggered the dishes' arrival based on spiciness/flavor so that they didn't overpower each other. Will definitely come back again!
Everything was great!
AMAZING food! Everything was excellent! Crab Rangoon is a must! Flakey dough and the filling was fresh crab meat. The pineapple sauce was out of this world!
