Dubh, the meaning for Black in Irish is nestled on the corner of one of newbridges oldest streets, facing out onto the old market square, the Building has been a pub, venue, Grocery store and everything in-between throught the years, But in 2021 Ubh, once a small little cafe across the road moved in, Creating a trilogy of services, from casual lunch, Seasonal Dinner & Organic wine to a Creative & exciting Space for drinks, music & events.
Our beautiful kitchen gang are putting together some seasonal dishes using our local producers & farmers.
Our wines are all bio & natural and chosen by the team monthly.
Our bar has a wide variety of beers, liquors and creamy pints.

    Amazing that our big dog was allowed in and the staff were super nice to him they even asked if there was any food he was allowed it that they could make for him and so he happily enjoyed a poached egg (which was perfectly cooked) while we all had a really nice brunch I will be coming back

    It was our wedding Anniversary . Dinner was outstanding ! We had the sharing Cote de boeuf .totally gorgeous ! Dubh is morn than a fiver star restaurant it’s 10! We were give a surprise large slice of chocolate cake which was to die for. We had a wonderful experience .

    The staff are so lovely however I feel the selection has become limited. All our poached eggs were very over done. When I asked for new poached runny eggs I got very good eggs but the plate came back with 1 less toast than was originally on the plate. Still tasty but the details are lacking a little.

    Overall really enjoyed the food but the portion sizes are far too small- I ordered the Aleppo eggs which was delicious but I could have eaten two portions easily. As well as this I ordered a side of bacon and again for the price I got two very small pieces which were not worth the money.

    Fabulous meal from start to finish! High quality produce with excellent execution from the kitchen. Niamh was serving us and she was amazing! The wine list is also carefully thought out with some fantastic finds and a cocktail in the bar to finish by the fire. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back!

    Visited Dubh for brunch. The food was excellent - we had Aleppo eggs and the potatoe hash which were both delicious. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

    This place is a gem and cannot wait to dine again. Food was unreal, the restaurant layout is very spacious, great options for non alcoholic cocktails. Service was great and our server was so kind and friendly. Couldn't recommend the place enough

    We had a delicious meal at Dubh! We each had a main and a side and it was very good. I had the vegan option which was very tasty! And the best vegan dessert I have had in a long time! Stuffed! Thank you Dubh! Merry Christmas!

    The best restaurant in Kildare right now! Have eaten here a few times and always a great experience. The menu is modern and the food delicious. The service is very efficient, friendly and very professional. Worth going for the cocktail menu alone! Looking for my next excuse to visit.

    We had a delicious dinner at Dubh, its a small menu but there is something for everyone. Beef cheek cooked to melt in the mouth, perfectly pan fried hake, pork belly....all served with paired wines or cocktails. We will return!

    Dubh was beautifully laid out with lovely wooden tables and interesting design features. The food was wonderful, really fresh with well balanced flavours and the service was perfect. The place was really buzzing early on a Friday evening. We travelled up from Portlaoise and it was worth the journey. We'll go again.

    Food was excellent. The beef main was so tender and juicy, the crab starter was light, fresh & zesty and the brownie desert was delicious. Service was spot-on. Not in your face. A very good wine selection & cocktail menu.

    Restaurant was very pretty and quiet. It was warm and inviting. Tea coffee and dessert were super. Main food was not our taste and very expensive. I would however recommend Dubh to a friend, as it was recommended to me by a family member.
