About
There was one rude server but Casey, Carley, and Robert made up for it.
Tomato and oyster salad was good but not as great as last time. Chicken was excellent.
Unfortunately , DTB is moving from Open Table to Tock
My husband and I both totally enjoyed our meal. I had smoked trout which I have never seen on a menu before and it was delicious. My husband had pork tenderloin and that also was very good
We had an incredible experience at DTB. The food and the service were second to none. We highly recommend.
Chef and staff were exceptional and followed all safety recommendations. Food was outstanding. We got one of everything. Seriously.
We were able to celebrate a birthday and the whole experience was just such a welcome and flawless relief.
Been to DTB for dinner and had great dinner. This time went for brunch and it was very disappointing. Food was bland at best. Not a good value.
Food was good, but not excellent like we had with Chef John. Sad to say that, but it’s the truth. I don’t believe the current chef was there when we dined. We will still go back for happy hour and brunch but it will be a minute before I try the dinner entrees again. Service and atmosphere was great, as usual.
Hostess could have been more friendly. Food was very good, Waiter was very good. Parking was a little difficult.
Got the gumbo to share and the rice was undercooked- stuck in our teeth.
I got the braised short rib and there was a bit more fat than I expected and just a clump of undercooked rice on the side. No way it should’ve been a $32 entree.
My wife got the crawfish Bolognese and her pasta was a bit undercooked as well. We like al dente, but this could’ve used at least another minute or 2. We are in no way food snobs, but for what the dishes costed, we expected better
Food was delicious!
Disappointed in the fish dish-my sister in law and I both got the blackened drum. Her's was undercooked and did not have the texture of fish. Mine was cooked but did not have texture of fish. Both needed to be cut with knife. Our waiter was told, apologized and offered to bring it back, however she declined saying she was "full."(not comfortable returning food-not sure what you get back) The maitre d came by later, offered his apologies . Never once did anyone suggest compting the meal or offering a dessert or drink. Other than that the appetizers , drinks, dessert were good. Wait service was good
Great service and atmosphere. I want one of those aprons that are worn by the wait staff.
We had a great dinner with friends. There were no leftovers so that should say it all. I had the Lobster Gnocchi was perfect. I would definitely order it again. The others at the table gave thumbs up to their entrees, shrimp and grits, the blackened puppy drum and the catfish. We can’t wait to return.
Awesome food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting again soon!
Food (@ brunch) was just ok. Not sure we will try dinner service.
Service was great. The food was good and the experience was good. I’ll go back.
Wonderful service and great delicious food!
Awesome all the way around!
This is our favorite place to eat AND it’s across the street from the comic shop.
Great food although the New Years 3 course meal is very restrictive
We were there for New Year's Eve, wanting a casual experience, not dressy. DBT was perfect, and the food was absolutely delicious.
Everything was delicious as usual. We went for NYE and was not aware it was a pre-set menu ahead of time. All 4 courses were very tasty but being $80 per person was more than we were expecting from a place with very reasonable prices on the normal menu. Would have preferred $60 per person with the option of dessert or the 2nd appetizer.
Excellent service, fantastic food and beverages. Killer desserts. I’d definitely god back!
Amazing service, accommodating to allergies, beautiful inside and best steak I’ve ever had (I’m from nyc)
DTB always has a fresh, local menu. It changes so there's always something new. The waiter was friendly and prompt.
Excellent food and drink selection. A real gem and wonderful addition to Oak Street!
Absolutely love DTB! Best service ever and they are so nice & accommodating. My fish was overcooked and the server offered to fire a new one even after I ate half of it. She brought a new hot fish with all the sides & even packed it to go for me. Unbelievable, my favorite uptown place. Everything is delicious!!!
Reserved a table and got seated in the back corner next to a wall with damage. As someone who eats at DTB often, it was disappointing. Food was great as always, but sitting people who have gone out of their way to make a reservation in a sub par spot is unacceptable.
Relatively new modern Cajun restaurant in New Orleans. The food was very good, but a bit overpriced
Consistently great. Food is delicious and love the innovative menu. Service is casual yet professional and restaurant is well staffed. One change I'd like to see (or hear) is that they change the music to match the ambiance of the decor and food. Music is too "pop" and can be distracting - have experienced this on several occasions. Would like local music or jazz or instrumental like brass or zydeco. Small way to improve an overall great experience. Will be coming back, and keep this in mind for large parties as well as intimate dinners for two.
It was the Thanksgiving prix fixe menu, but I’ve been there before, and it was excellent.
Soooo good...I actually considered licking my plate.
Great food with a real cajun/bayou flare. Excellent drinks from the bar. Portions are a little small, so be prepared to order more than you think you would.
Brunch before Saints game. Food, Service and cocktails all amazing!
Very nice upbeat ambiance. Friendly, and efficient service.
The fried corn bread was tasteless, disappointing and expensive at $12. The gumbo was hearty and average.
The blackened drum at $28 was small and dry with three slices of sweet potato and a sweet potato paste. Very disappointing. I obviously was willing to pay $28 for my lunch entree. However, to charge that much the meal is supposed to be worth the price. It fell far short of value in regards to taste, presentation and frankly volume.
The fried chicken sandwich was delicious. Here again at $16.00 it’s overpriced. It’s not much different in taste then the Popeyes chicken sandwich at $4.00.
There are too many places in the area to get a consistently better meal at a lower price.
You can’t charge premium prices with average to below average food. The price has to match the experience..D.T.B. does not achieve this.
Great find on oak Street. Really enjoyed the option available of multiple selections of small plates allowing to sample several different items. At the same time knowing there was a large plate option available for other members of our party was great to have.
Normally don't have deserts but the oatmeal sandwiches were outstanding.
We had 10am reservations. We got there on time, were promptly seated. kiera was a very attentive and communicative . We ordered beignets which were a little different as they had a vanilla crepe filling but they were yummy. My husband had the shrimp and grits and I had the Oak St breakfast. Grits, eggs, bacon and a biscuit with some amazing gravy. I couldn’t eat everything so I got some of it to go. Bacon was a little over cooked. Shrimp and grits were claimed to be the best ever. We had a great meal and service was amazing. I hope people will give this place a try.
Great food
Excellent service and food! We had the blackened redfish, beef short ribs, and the airline chicken with red bean risotto. I don’t know which I would recommend most because they were all ridiculously good! Space is very nice, a bit loud but not awful. Would definitely recommend!
Great food , service and friendly staff.. great happy hour prices but we both found it was a little expensive for the appetizers and entrees
everything was excellent- we enjoyed the food and ambience
