Chef came out and talked to us. Food was excellent.
The restaurant is in flux. The chef/ owner passed away. The menu changed. Several of the staff ( including a great manager) have left.
I’d give it a couple of weeks to get their act together.
Changes to the menu are basically healthier ones
Fantastic!! We have been several times and just love it!!!!
Always excellent! Love the menu. One of my favorites is the 24 hour braised short rib. Love this place!
Tried the new Green Smoothie Bowl, delicious healthy alternative on the DTB menu - fantastic! And a very friendly and attentive staff makes dining here a joy!
We always have a excellent meal and experience at DTB. Landon provided wonderful service and the food was as always super. Highly recommend.
Prior to going we called to make sure they were serving the Coolinary menu, since it was a Saturday.
After arriving they gave us a brunch menu. We asked for the lunch menu and they said they weren't serving lunch. We explained what we had been told when calling and they said there was nothing they could do. The manager, faced with this problem did an outstanding job of trying to accommodate
our needs by offering to substitute items from the brunch menu.
The food was reasonably good and our experience turned out better than it might have been. This was primarily due to the quick thinking of the manager.
We went for our anniversary. Great food and atmosphere!
Ran out of the coolinary special sadly, but the brunch options we went with were terrific.
Great brunch spot. Friendly staff. Food was delicious.
Great brunch spot. Sat right near the window overlooking oak street. Loved the silver dollar - so light and refreshing. Steak and eggs was great too!
The worst service I have ever received in my life. Our waitress did not acknowledge us, check in on us and was arrogant.
However, the manager was very kind and apologetic regarding the situation.
We wanted to have a brunch date so we decided to finally give this place a try. We had heard such good things. The place was super busy when we went. We understood the wait times would run a bit longer than usual. Other patrons didn't quite get that. Wait times don't ever take away from the great service or great food for us. We made a reservation through open table for 11. My date received a warm greeting by the host and seated promptly. I parked the car. When I came in I was also warmly greeted. My date ordered the drip coffee. She enjoyed very much. The temperature was a little chilly in the restaurant. I was wearing short sleeves so I'd wear a jacket for the next time. They have a great musical selection too. It didn't get too loud in restaurant. Our server Colin recommended I order the Uptown Blues. It warmed me right up! It was an excellent drink and I love blueberries. Colin gave us perfect recommendations with friendly customer service. His knowledge of the menu made things easy on us. He checked on us very often even with the large crowd. We really appreciated that. We started with the gumbo. It has a dark Roux, it was very rich in flavor. It was delicious. We ordered a second serving to go at the end of our meal. It doesn't come with a lot of rice, which we both really appreciated. We hate when the gumbo is served half rice/half gumbo. It was perfectly seasoned too, not overly salty or fatty. Then came the main dishes. The short rib and eggs were stellar! The meat was so juicy and tender! I really liked the Etouffee Benedict as well. We finished with a bread pudding that was light but just what we needed after the meal. We want to thank Colin for his excellent customer service. DTB was very busy but we never felt forgotten or unappreciated. That was a first for us. We can't wait to come back!
DTB has a great brunch and Coolinary menu. It did take a little while for them to get the food to us. However, the waitstaff and management was very attentive to us. So, we did not mind waiting.
Great on every level!! We were there on the night of a small Mardi Gras parade so it was a little louder than normal.
Always amazing - one of our favorite New Orleans restaurants. We love the creative food and drink menus along with the impeccable service. Bring a sweater - it's always cold.
Our dining experience at DTB was excellent. We were greeted and shown to our table right away. Service was attentive and the waitress was friendly. Our food, short ribs, cat fish plate and rice bowl were all delicious. The cat fish was well prepared and some of the best I have ever eaten.
The desert I wanted, strawberries and cream, was not available. However, I was comped a substitute of bruleed bread pudding. It was yummy!
This restaurant is definitely on our list of places to revisit.
Overall the experience was very good. Our server was genuine and reasonably prompt with a couple of hiccups. Seemed a tad pricey, maybe better for lunch?
Our waitress was so pleasant, helpful and there when we needed her. I had an amazing fried catfish on dirty rice. I will go again- next time I am in NOLA.
Everything was fantastic except I felt like we waited a while for our food. Would definitely recommend to a friend and will be returning in the future.
Awesome place to have brunch. Cool servers that were willing to ensure our good time!
Was recommended by a local to try this quaint little spot DTB. Very impressive! Loved the décor and the food at brunch was fantastic. Brisket on a biscuit is a must try! and OHHH the bacon!! I will return to try the dinner menu!! Excellent service, impeccably clean! Get away from the French Quarter mayhem, try DTB!
The menu was perfect. Good variety without being overwhelming. The T-Plates were just the size to share. We ordered 3 different ones and enjoyed them all. The wine list was limited with respect to sweeter wines, but our server seemed happy to allow us to taste several recommended wines. She was timely, friendly, and very gracious. She made the evening more perfect.
We'll be back soon.
Went with a friend during Coolinary and LOVED it! Our server Nicholas was amazing! Food was outstanding and service exceeded my expectations :))
Delicious meal and excellent service!
Would love to see more gluten free offerings.
Staff was nice and attentive. Good ambience. Food lacked flavor. We had the mushroom boudin balls - no flavor. Also had the duck - cooked correctly, good texture. no flavor. It wasn't a bad restaurant. There are so many other good choices, I just wouldn't choose to go there again.
The food is delicious and the service was very good. One of our favorite restaurants and we eat out very often.
Was a great Saturday afternoon Birthday Brunch. Was close to their kitchen's turnover for dinner, but the restaurant and staff were VERY accommodating. Have visited this neighborhood gem quite often since it opened. I love it! And everyone who experienced with me the for their first time, they've also returned repeatedly. Joseph, was our server during this visit. He was great personable and had a great knowledge of the delicious food on the DTB menu. Looking forward to my next visit!
Wonderful food. Excellent service. It was hard not to order everything twice. The thin man drink is a winner, too.
Food was excellent. Nice variety and fair pricing. The actual service was extremely slow.. about 1/2 hr between courses. Took 2 hrs to have lunch.
Once again another amazing and delicious dinner served by the best restaurant!
Waiter was rude ...condescending from the minute we sat down interrupted toast for celebration by pouring water over our toast ...took check before we left table and was snooty about questions regarding wine.
For the money on the fabulous food...the service should be nothing but outstanding to match the quality of food.
Unfortunate experience since the last time I went the overall experience was wonderful...service left me disappointed and dissatisfied.
Brussels sprouts were burned and inedible.
Nice service. A bit pricey.
Bottomless mimosas and great food makes a great place for brunch!
I have eaten dinner here and just had to go back with my husband for his birthday. It was a pretty busy brunch. Nick was our waiter and he was ironically our dinner waiter last time. He interacted with my twins and was patient when we tried to decide what they would want. The Bloody Mary Bar was fabulous. My boys food came out quickly and they devoured it. One boy is a picky eater and ate every bit of his Mac n cheese. We tasted one’s Pecan waffle and it was amazing! I did Coolonary so I got fried cornbread that was on top of goat cheese and it was as delicious as it sounds! Our meal took unusually long to come out but Nick kept us updated and even brought some mimosas. Once we got our food it was delicious! My steak and eggs were perfect and husband’s burger was amazing! An extra bread pudding with a candle was brought out.... nice touch!!! The bread pudding was really really good!!!! We will be back and will ask for amazing Nick!!!!
Overall we enjoyed our meal, and will return in the near future. As for our experience, it was too cold and a bit noisy, but our waiter Royce was really great and that went a long way with enjoying our visit.
Let me start by saying we were pleasantly surprised by the food! The food and service were amazing! The kitchen took longer than our server and his manager liked which they acknowledged and took care of more than was necessary, which as a customer we appreciated because they did not have to do any of what they did. We stayed in good spirits. I cannot say enough about our waiter, I wish I could remember his name. He had dirty blonder kinda curly hair, in a bun. He made sure our drinks were never empty, we never had to ask for refills and anything else. He just had it. He apologized profusely for the kitchen being slow, which in no way was his fault. Between the 6 of us we had boudin balls, gumbo, crab and avocado salad for apps, which were all delicious and fresh. For our entrees we had the duck, the blackened fish, the filet, and the boudin stuffed chicken. Not one complaint about the taste of the food, it was perfect! We ordered all the desserts except for the strawberry one, and those too hit the spot. The only real complaint someone had was it was s little loud and hard to hear each other talk but it could have been because of where our table was. Overall, we would definitely go back just for the food! It will not disappoint!
Second time going had an amazing experience as with the first. Server Colin was an amazing guy and very lively and funny gave me and my party excellent service and many laughs. my party all got different things on the menu to share and not one dish received criticism the chicken gumbo especially was a crowd favorite.
Service was outstanding and the food was great. We like eating here because it is generally easy to get a table yet the food offers a variety of flavorful options.
