About
Dry Creek Kitchen's wine cellar reflects the area's celebrated appellations, featuring more than 600 Sonoma wines with vintages ranging from 1985 to 2007 and a particular emphasis on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Meritage Blends.
Charlie Palmer's long standing commitment to wine manifests itself in his one-of-kind-collection drawing from the private libraries and cellars of the area's winemakers.
The place was a bit stuffy. The waived corkage fee for Sonoma wines helped lower the cost.
A round table for 8!!! That was great! Service was wonderful and food was excellent as well as the presentation. Even the bread was great!!
We dined at Dry Creek again to celebrate our anniversary - as we do every year in Healdsburg (our favorite place)! We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails and the complimetary champagne offered in celebration. Very thoughtful. Our meals were wonderful -- we were extremely satisfied.
The Sonoma Neighbor menu is a great value and never fails to deliver an innovative and delicious experience! I don’t know how they come up with these dishes but they are always amazing! I will admit that I might not have ordered some of these dishes on their own but I’m always open to trying them and I have never been disappointed- I LOVE all of their food!! And the service is always outstanding!!!
Great place in the middle of Healdsburg, by the Square. They have no corkage fee, terrific food and very friendly service. Given that you are likely to buy wine touring the tasting rooms and wineries around town, being able to enjoy the wine with no corkage fee is big benefit. Please support this restaurant for this rare gesture!
My request for a "quiet table" was honored until a noisy party of 12, including five exuberant children and a human megaphone dad, was seated across from us! As we were the first ones in the restaurant when it opened for dinner, the service was very attentive at first, then our waiter was pulled in every direction and area of the restaurant, including the outdoor patio.
Our meal was delicious although we ate it quickly as the ambiance was not conducive to a quiet anniversary celebration and adult conversation.
Really excellent farm to table experience in Healdsburg! Great food and setting and service highly recommend this restaurant!
The food is excellent. The ambiance is relaxing and lovely. The server (Kyle) was below average. The meal presentation was wonderful.
Very enjoyable meal at Dry Creek kitchen. Our waiter was not very attentive, but the manager took good care of us. The tuna tartare was outstanding. The scallops were cooked perfect, but I did not like some of the toppings. Our waiter brought us a complimentary dessert shaped like a mini bundt cake, but it was so burnt that we could not eat it. Overall, it was my favorite of the 4 restaurants that we ate at on our trip.
(Note that we went on a Monday evening in mid-June.) We loved the Neighbor Tasting menu (at $39 per person for a 3 course meal) and the 50/50 Monday wine sale (which means half-price on a full three pages of the bottled wine offerings). We enjoyed a top flight meal and a bottle of Benovia Pinot Noir at a surprisingly affordable price point!
Ambiance was nice, but service was so slow and poor that even with nice ambiance, I do not want to go back. In addition, the few dishes that we ordered definitely left us wanting something else. The kale salad was dressed extremely heavily (I'd ask for the dressing on the side next time) and the chicken was extremely over done and dry. I took two bites and couldn't stomach any more. And of course when the waitress came by to pick up my dish that was barely touched, she didn't even bother to ask how it was.
Food, service and ambience is excellent. I am a local and have eaten in most of the Healdsburg restaurants. While most of them are excellent, I feel what sets the Dry Creek Kitchen apart is the elegant atmosphere and the * service from ALL the staff. I also love that there is distance between the tables so you can enjoy a conversation and not shout over the noise of a closely packed room
Our thanks to General Manager Dan Prentice and his staff for a memorable evening!
Dry Creek Kitchen has definitely gone down hill. Food was OK. Service was poor. Too many great choices in Healdsburg to go again.
It was our anniversary and they treated us so well. We will always go to this restaurant for celebrations and also for a nice dining experience.
Ambience and location were the reason to visit
The food was just okay, definitely not going to bring me back. Service also was fine, but not overly attentive.
WE HAD NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE. WHAT AN EXCELLENT RESTAURANT! WE WENT ON THE NIGHT THEY WERE FEATURING A. RAFANELLI WINE. HAPPENS TO BE MY FAVORITE! SHELLEY THE WINEMAKER WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND FRIENDLY. YOUR WAIT STAFF WAS EXCELLENT! HAD THE FILET MIGNON, OUTSTANDING1 WE WILL BE GOING BACK! WE LIVE IN PETALUMA, BUT WILL GO BACK SOON!
As requested we were seated by the front window. The server asked , without prompting , if we desired the same cocktails that we had the last time at DCK. Nice touch. Complimentary sparkling wine followed. I started with the ahi tartare followed by the father's day special new york strip steak with fingerling potatoes and asparagus - delicious. My wife had the marys chicken breast. The meal was delicious. We enjoyed a bottle of George pinot noir with our meal. Very good. For desert we shared the chocolate peanut butter bar while enjoying french press coffee. No pressure , attentive service, lovely atmosphere and great food. What's not to like. Pamper yourself and treat yourself to a really nice dining experience.
Food was excellent... staff was great. A very enjoyable evening.
Wonderful birthday celebration dinner. Great sommelier recommendation, terrific food. A very special night. Definitely go if you have the chance.
Service was sub par. Food was ok. They should be embarrassed to serve the “marble potatoes”. It’s no mystery why there is no Michelin star.
We go back here each time we are in town. Always a favorite.
It was just ok. the food was so so and the service was spotty at best. They did not have a bartender available to make a cocktail, that is what we were told! I think Charlie Palmer restaurants are overrated. It is the second one I have been to and they were both just ok
Scallops were quite good, but lamb was mediocre. Not much flavor and not very tender. Quality did not match price. Service was good and setting is nice.
We had a delightful time with friends and our daughter for her birthday. The service and the food were excellent. We will be back soon!!
I understand attire has become casual even at upscale restaurants. And this is California after all. However, it seems rude for men to wear ball caps inside. My pet peeve I guess. Or am I becoming my father?
Worst service any of us have ever had! Mediocre And over-priced food in a pretty setting. With all the amazing places to eat in Wine Country and all the hype of this restaurant, we were very disappointed. We would not go back and hope that others don’t have the same experience we had. Go somewhere else!
Our first visit in a very long time, and everything about it was fantastic, from the reception, to the wine captain, to the server, servers assistants and manager. Will be back for sure!
We've been there many times. But, not in the past couple years. Service was ok. Very slow to get main course Halibut was very good. Lamb chop was over cooked. I requested med/rare and it was med/well.
Ambiance and jazz in the square fantastic. 100% go back. Thanks for a fantastic evening!
We love Dry Creek Kitchen. Every aspect of it is outstanding. We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every bite. The Yukon gold potato leek soup was memorable. How often can you say that? Something about the way it was served and the inclusion of trout roe and Alaskan halibut in the soup. With the tasting menu, you can choose any of the regular-size desserts from the dessert menu. We chose the local strawberry tart, expecting that fresh strawberries would dominate the dessert. Not so. There were some, along with bits of dehydrated strawberries and other components. Not a complaint, just want to point out that sometimes a dish of fresh strawberries is better than a creative approach to the humble strawberry.
Excellent meal and service!
A fabulous dinner at a gorgeous restaurant, right on the square. This isn’t the place to bring your granny from Iowa but it’s perfect for a foodie splurge. The swordfish was done perfectly and presented beautifully.
A really lovely restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. It's worth noting that if you happen to go on Mondays, they have a wine list that's 50% off. The food was delicious and the service was really warm and welcoming.
We had a wonderful dinner at Dry Creek Kitchen to celebrate two anniversaries and a birthday. It was delicious and festive and they brought us special desserts to mark the occasions. Everyone was very pleased with the whole evening.
Music was competing with the noise level of customers. It would have been much better without music.
Wait staff was terrible- it took quite some time until our waiter brought us the menus and even longer to get water. We got the cocktail served right before we were poured the wine for our tasting menu and were rushed through the first 3 courses where we had no time to actually taste end enjoy the wine. The only time we had a little time was between the 3rd and 4th course.
We do not like rhubarb and substituted the salad for escargots which were served family style. The problem was that it was served in a cast iron triangle dish which was put between my husband and me. The puff pastry top did not soak up the butter , the spoon we had was way too big for the deep indentations. Thankfully we asked the waiter who wanted to take away the bread from the table before, that we would like to keep it. Otherwise there would have been no way to eat the garlic butter.
Not once did anyone ask us if we would like something or if the food was ok.
The food was ok, but not what we expected from an upscale restaurant like this. There were minor things in every course but the worst was the strawberry tart. It tasted gelatinous and had a purplish color more like blueberry with 1 fresh strawberry on top and a few sliced freeze dried strawberries on the side. When strawberries are in season!
Will we come back to DCK? Probably not.
Will we recommend DCK? No
Enjoyed every course. Relaxed atmosphere, fabulous food!
Our last night in Healdsburg, we dined in style at Dry Creek Kitchen. The staff was attentive, the food delicious, and the ambiance beautiful... a perfect exclamation point to our brief Sonoma County visit. Manager Natasha Soto was delightful and informative, and graciously suggested I could order a side of the fiddle-head ferns - one of my favorite springtime treats that are rarely available back at home in South Florida. Simply lovely.
We tried Dry Creek hoping for a fine dining experience. Overall, the staff and service are excellent and the restaurant should be pleased to have such a dedicated team. However, the food was disappointing on many levels and there was a lack of attention to detail and refinement in the ambience as well. Wine-stained linens, vase missing it’s flowers, table with an intimate view of the meat slicer... The food lacks quality and well developed flavor profiles. The Alfredo dish was bland and we felt the filet mignon steaks were of poor quality, dry and flavorless. The salad had the base of the lettuce bunch on the plate. They responded with concern and tried to correct the situation with another dish which was appreciated. It just wasn’t a recoverable experience at that point and we left still needing something to eat.
Amazing evening with 6 life long friends celebrating a birthday. Dry Creek Kitchen made it a very special evening, service was very friendly. We are all wine snobs. Their sommelier was great letting us feel like we know more than we actually do while guiding us in the right direction and discovering some new and wonderful wines. Executive Chef Scott came out checked on us twice to make sure we were happy with our dinning experience. The lamb chop was very unique and spectacular as are the scallops. Tremendous wine list with very reasonable mark up. My 5th time at DCK going back tonight.
