Excellent location, good food, nice ambience. Staff appeared unhappy and stern which detracted from otherwise very nice experience.
Loved this place.
always top notch food and a great ambience
Service and serving rhythm a bit off for a restaurant of this caliber
maybe Ok for wine country
The whole experience was first class right down to the manager Todd ensuring the experience was perfect. A must stop if you're in Healdsburg looking for something special.
Excellent service and food!
This eatery never fails to impress. Every element from menu to prep to service and ambiance remains perfect. Please don’t change!
sadly the service was inexcusably slow and the food very ordinary on this particular occasion
Todd was a wonderful server. We like the no corkage fee on Sonoma County wines which was especially important since we went with winery owner friends.
Once seated we waited 15 minutes for the first person to show up, who gave us water. Another 20 minutes went by before our server (female, blond pony tail) appeared, asking us what we would like. Very brusque manner. We immediately felt that she didn’t like us (we were quiet and trying to be patient so not sure why) and didn’t want to be there. We politely gave our orders, including our choice for a bottle of wine. Once the meals were brought (by other staffers who were much more pleasant), we saw that a side dish hadn’t arrived. No problem, we thought. We would just let our server know when she checks to see if everything is ok. As we went around the table, every one of us had the same complaint - all 5 of our dishes were barely luke warm. Not hot, not even very warm. Just room temperature. Well, she never came back to the table. Ever - until she was clearing our dishes much later, with no verbal communication. So she didn’t even ask us, as she was helping to clear the table, if everything had been to our likening, if we had enjoyed our dinner. Actually no one ever did. At that time, we let her know about the vegetable side dish that never arrived. She said she’d make sure it wasn’t on the bill.
We had all eaten at Dry Creek Kitchen before, a few years earlier, and had enjoyed the whole experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was ‘fine’’, service was abysmal. This was a shock. And a huge disappointment. I can’t imagine ever returning to this restaurant. Our group is also usually a generous tipping group. Not this time. And we felt bad for the support staff, who had been more pleasant.
Oh well, live and learn.
Fantastic experience!! Food was amazing and the som could not have been better. The restaurant is beautiful and a perfect compliment to the Hotel Healdsburg.
The filet minion was outstanding! Great food and ambiance.
We loved our Anniversary dinner! The food, the atmosphere, the service! It was all great.
I've never been disappointed at Dry Creek Kitchen -- the food, the presentation, the options, the wine. It's all good. Many thanks again.
Very noisy. Food was cold. Took forever to get the meal. Waitress tried
We came here for a birthday dinner because of their ahi tuna tartare. It did not disappoint, but the remainder of the meal was not up to the expectations one has for a Michelin star restaurant. Octopus appetizer was OK, but octopus was overshadowed by tamarind sauce. Salads were good. Chicken from three course menu was nicely done but nothing special. Desserts were also fair at best: bread pudding was a thin slice of cold bread (pudding) with very good chocolate gelato, apple tarte tatin was bland, and coffee and chocolate pavlova was overly sweet, though meringue was deliciously tender. All that with the pretension of a high end restaurant made it less enjoyable than my previous visit several years ago.
This was my third time eating at Dry Creek and I have to say I was disappointed. The service was fine but it was cold and the door to the outside seating kept being left open and we had to ask several times to please close door. The salad was ok, the entrees were better, but the deserts were tasteless. Considering their location and reputation, they need to step up their game.
A very delicous meal with great wine. DCK does not disappoint.
We came for restaurant week and although the food portions were adequate the wine pairing was a terrible deal. The wine steward was pouring ridiculously short pours. The wines tasted good but the amount was almost comical. The food was beautifully presented but needed more energy on the flavors rather than the look.
So good I was full chubby sitting there enjoying such a perfect experience.. FULL CHUB!!!
Quite disappointed over all. White wine was served ice cold, strange for a venue that prides itself on wine.
We ordered "Restaurant Week" menu items and were surprised that none of the flavors on the menu came thru on the plate. My chicken was over cooked and tough to cut, I left half on the plate with no question from the waiter.
We are food and wine people and were looking forward to our first experience in this high end location, I'm afraid we'll look else where in the future.
It would have been nice to have a vegetarian or fish as one of the entre selections on the restaurant week menu.
Incredible food but our server was clearly having a bad day. Had we not had such an incredible day leading up to this experience, would have been tough to get beyond. Expected more from this landmark restaurant.....
We had a great meal. Staff were mainly lovely. Once we said we weren’t having wine our waiter never amiled again. Odd?
Absolutely marvelous! Food was delicious beyond belief. Service, ambiance...everything was a perfect experience and excellent ending to our trip.
Lovely evening, delicious tasting menu, fun and vibrant ambience. They were busy on the Saturday night we were there so service was slow, but our server was very nice and kept checking in with us. We’ll be back - absolutely.
We have been dining at Dry Creek Kitchen for many years - we met some out of town friends there that night, since they, too, have always enjoyed dining there. However, we ordered a cheese plate for appetizer - the cheese and accompaniment items appeared that they were simply thrown on the plate, and the server who delivered did not discuss the items presented. My husband ordered the scallop dish, which only offered 3 scallops for the main dish price. The gnocchi dish that i had, as well as one of our friends, was very tasty and enjoyable. We also were seated around a table for 10 and the noise was a little energetic at times. It appeared that the servers were a bit rushed and preoccupied that evening - as it was a full dining room at the time. We enjoyed 3 bottles of wine, which were a little delayed in pouring at times.
Food was wonderful; we celebrated 2 birthdays and all 4 of us had the Tasting Menu. We could not have been more pleased. Thanks Scott; you are the best!
Delicious Sonoma Restaurant Week menu with optional wine pairings! And a big thanks to the manager for mentioning that the hotel bar has a new hamburger and local beer special - every day. We went the next night, along with my mom and sister and had a great time.
Very attentive service and fabulous food presentation.
Visiting the area had 3 course meal with salad, salmon and dessert which was a good value. Also ordered an a la cart with octopus, lamb t-bone. Beautiful presentation.
Ice cream assortment for dessert was delicious
The experience was excellent. Beautiful setting. Staff were attentive and helpful. The food was outstanding. Lovely, really.
Not our first time to DCK and as always i8t was fabulous. Getting a 5:30 rsvp guaranteed we had the restaurant to ourselves for a good 25 minutes before other diners arrived. Exactly what we were looking for..
Great place but the food was okay expecte more from the food . For the price I probably wouldn’t return
Very disappointing after looking very forward to going. First got put next to the door and it was a very windy and cold night, eventually got moved. Then ordered drinks and forgot to put olives in my martini. Then for appetizers, the gnocchi was served cold and the second gnocchi ordered was delivered as ahi tuna. Two of the 4 dinners were served less than hot, were returned, and still not as hot as desired when re-served. Tried to make it up with complimentary desserts which were very good. Not all was bad, my octopus appetizer and lamb dinner were excellent.
We have been here 6-7 times. The food never disappoints, the service never disappoints. We will come back again and again!
My husband and I had been to Healdsburg several times but had never eaten at Dry Creek Kitchen. I'm so glad that we did. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the decor was beautiful. From their homemade Italian herb focaccia with house-made butter to their delicious desserts, everything was perfect. We will most certainly return to dine there and can highly recommend them, especially for a special occasion!
One of our favorite restaurants in the wine country. Beautiful ambiance, innovative, excellent presentation and attentive service.
Disappointing based on the reviews. My seabass was both salty and spicy. The dessert they brought for my birthday was so rubbery I couldn't cut It! My husband gave up trying to cut it and put his whole piece in his mouth. It took quite a while for him to chew it!
I absolutely love Dry Creek Kitchen! The cost is no more than other local restaurants but the ambiance really sets it apart. My husband and I have been for anniversary celebrations and both times the service, ambiance and food was impeccable. Recommended for special occasions or taking someone you want to impress.
As always, Dry Creek Kitchen was FANTASTIC. We get to Healdsburg about once per year, and this is a required dinner spot for us. There was live music (double bass and keyboard) - they were fantastic. Even with the music, plenty quiet to have easy conversation. Wine selection is terrific, and there's no corkage fee if you bring a Sonoma County wine in yourself. We did cocktails since we were wined out from tastings. The cocktails were made well (though the ice in the Manhattan was small cubes rather than a large ball/cube which I prefer). Started with the kale & brussels salad - terrific! Dinner was the beef filet and the chicken. Both were cooked to perfection, and sides were excellent. Service was fantastic - attentive but not overbearing. Dessert was the chocolate peanut butter bar - this cannot be skipped! Can't wait for our next trip back to Healdsburg. If you've in Healdsburg, DO NOT skip finding some time to eat at Dry Creek Kitchen!
