Excellent atmosphere, service was stellar and the food was wonderful. For me this is special occasion dining because it is pricey, but definitely worth it. Overall it was a great experience.
We have been several times. Every other time has been great. This time the food wasn’t cooked properly, my husbands order was wrong and the music was way too loud. We couldn’t even hear or talk to each other. When you spend 100 dollars you expect the meal to be great.
Great menu selection. Staff was polite and prompt.
As a chef I often find myself disappointed in higher end restaurants but that is not the case for the Drunken Oyster. The seafood was fresh and high quality. The Lobster Mac had so much lobster and was by far some of the best I have ever eaten. The tempura Shrimp paired perfect with a fresh Sangria. We went on a night with live music and while it was loud it matched the energy of the restaurant and still allowed for an amazing date night. Big thank you to the men and women working at the Drunken Oyster.
The food was excellent as was our server Becca. We’ll definitely be back!
We were just driving through and stopped in for dinner. Accommodated our request for "socially distanced" table with no hesitation. Food was well prepared and cocktails excellent. The only thing that might have been improved upon was for our waiter to not "rush" the next course.....I was still eating my entree when he brought over the dessert menu. Would be nice to have a pause between appetizer - entree - dessert.
It was an amazing anniversary date night!! And I’ve never had better service!!
Service was fabulous! Pretty noisy inside, if it wasn’t for the heat, we would have sat outside for this reason. One of our plates came out really cold, but the issue was fixed immediately, and a manager compensated with our drink order. The rest of our plates were really good. This wasn’t our first time at Drunken Oyster and it definitely won’t be our last!
This was a great date night experience! The portions were small but just right to be full and not stuffed or have to deal with leftovers if you were not going straight home. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly and you could see her smile even with a mask on. Not sure what this would be like for kiddos but would be so fun with group of friends.
The food was outstanding, we enjoyed our time there. Between having to wear masks and the music, it was difficult to hear/order. We enjoyed the music once we ordered.
The Beignet ice cream sandwich is one of the best desserts I have ever eaten.
Great food, usually great service, music is a little loud, prices are high.
Quick service and exceptional food make this restaurant such a gem. The environment is so relaxing and it’s so easy to lose track of time when you’re dining here.
I had not been to Drunken Oyster in a long while. I went primarily to hear my friend, Ruth Ellen Lynch, and her band play. We had asked for a table to be held for us so we could see/ hear the band. This was done.....the host seated us very graciously and professionally. Our food was very good, cooked just the way we asked and we didn't even have a long wait, although the entire restaurant/ bar was full within thirty minutes of our arrival. There was very good "social distancing" between tables, the ladies room was clean and the inside temperature made it very comfortable. My friends were "only going to stay a little while".....ended up almost closing the place down! We WILL be back!
Amazing food and excellent service! Thank you!
The food and atmosphere is excellent! I'm aware that upscale dining is limited in Amarillo thus, pricing of upscale dining can be surprising. However, we travel often and choose upscale dining for dinner when we travel. I was still shocked at the prices our drinks. We had maybe 2 or 3 a piece and they were top shelf vodka and doubles, but these were still too expensive. Our meals only accounted for 40% of our ticket. The rest was drinks. I would expect that after a long late night out with 4 or more drinks, but that's not happened. Anyway, we didn't have any beer or wine so maybe that is more reasonably priced. The food is certainly worth giving it a try!
It is nice to see this caliber of restaurant in Amarillo! Keep up the great work!
Great food and awesome atmosphere. We can’t wait to go back.
Nice quiet place for a romantic get away went there for anniversary
Excellent service and food. It’s great to have something just a little different from other restaurants in Amarillo. Good change of pace.
Great food and atmosphere! Best grits in the panhandle.
Everything was great, service was fantastic and facility was clean throughout.
Very kind staff, portions were plenty and very tasty. The live music was an added bonus
I think for most people the prices are too high. That being said, I appreciate the good service and attempts to satisfy requests. The noise level is high and makes it difficult to have a meaningful discussion with your friends. I end up having to yell and it irritates my voice. The more people have to raise their voices the harder it is to hear the great musicians.
For a high end restaurant, I would like to either see a tablecloth or butcher paper on the table. I am a nurse and seeing my silverware placed directly upon a bare table is unsettling not only in regular times but especially now when we are supposed to be careful. There is no telling what germs lay on the table surface or the cloth and hands that were used to wipe it down. This is how disease can be spread and I know it's a common practice in the industry but wrapping my silverware in a napkin is preferred.
We had an early reservation and a great server. The decor was really hip and somewhat fancy which makes for a nice "special occasion" place. The food was absolutely delicious and not your run of the mill same 'ol same 'ol.
Due to pricing, we couldn't afford to eat here all the time but for a special date night or occasion, it's an excellent choice. We will be back!
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is upscale without being pretentious. If you are allergic to shellfish (as I am), there is nothing on the menu for you. We went because my husband wanted oysters! The cocktails are quite small and pretty pricey, but good quality. Overall, it's a place I would go for special occasions, but too expensive for a casual meal and cocktails.
Joshua was very attentive, knew the menu well, and made our dining experience simply wonderful. I had the shrimp and grits while my husband had the gluten-free zucchini and shrimp dish. We agreed that both dishes were among the very best that we have had. An extremely talented guitarist, with harmonica and a smooth voice sang the blues. It was a wonderful evening and we hope to return soon.
Food was very good and the staff was quite friendly. The only negative thing I have to say is that it’s usually no fun listening to the employees at the bar discussing work issues and not interesting with guests.
Overall very satisfied and I will return.
Excellent fare and fun atmosphere! We loved this place!!
Great great food!!!! Shrimp and grits YUM!!!!!
Service was above perfect!!!!!!
You must try this restaurant!!!
Tables for two people have one person facing a wall in very uncomfortable chairs. The fried green tomatoes were good, the fondu was nothing special. But my biggest disappointment was the Banana Foster! If a scoop of ice cream, some liquor in the bottom with a few sliced bananas is your Banana Foster don’t serve it. We should have sent it back.
Service was good, the blackened catfish was awesome,
The best Sea Food that I have eaten in years. We would have preferred more comfortable seating and the noise level was louder than we liked.
Enjoyed our dinner, but I do think my Shrimp and Grits were a little too spicy. Loved hearing Dana Hubbard! I think the menu needs to be a little broader but will go back!
The food is awesome and our waiter, Ashton was great!!!
Food was excellent as always. Service was friendly and accommodating. It made for a wonderful date night at my favorite restaurant in town.
We had to wait for about 20 minutes despite Reservation.
Our night at the Drunken Oyster was absolutely amazing! From the service to the live music, it was all incredible. The food was fantastic. The drinks were not watered down or too strong. The oysters were fresh and had the most incredible flavor. Cannot wait to go back!
Waited 1.15 hours on our food. Our Chicken app was 30 minutes late to our table, but the waiter said he would comp it. We ordered dessert and another round of beer. Instead— he brought our ticket. When I asked about it he said “oh sorry, I’m really trying”... poor guy! I asked if he put In the order for our dessert and drink, he said he’d be right back. 20 minutes later both came to our table finally. After 2 hours of being there, we just really wanted to leave. This is our favorite restaurant.
