In addition to the global menu, we also offer classic Chinese favourites such as the Xiao Long Bao, Prawn & Ginger dumplings and Gua Baos including Char Sui Pork and Smokey Szechuan Chicken - paying homage and respecting the art and history of dumplings.
Using locally produced and sustainably sourced ingredients of the highest quality, Drumplings delivers something entirely new to the Melbourne food scene – an unforgettable taste sensation never before experienced.
Had a waitress who I believe was new, however she was lovely and attentive and always clarified if she wasn’t sure.
Nice atmosphere + beautiful food and drinks.
The food was beautiful. Great Asian fusion concepts that were fun and tasty. However the service was shocking. Food kept coming to our table that we didn't order, we waited 40 minutes for a cocktail and the staff were lacking in attention to diners and understanding of the menu. Would definitely be back for the food, but the place will not last long if they dont improve their service, especially with the huge amount of other restaurants offering the same cuisine.
Amazing food and service! loved the whole experience, especially the cheeseburger dumplings!
On the basis of food and service, Drumplings would probably not be my recommendation for a night out.
The food was fair. It seemed that all the dumplings were just steamed, which I don't mind but given how some of the flavours were (i.e. cheeseburger, mac & cheese dumplings), these items would have tasted so much better and felt less slimy if they were say fried instead of steamed. The salads were decent but nothing amazing. The only highlight for our table in terms of food was the Bang Bang Chicken Salad and our cocktails. We ordered the Drunken Lychee and Yuzu Highball.
Service was below average as well. When we got to our table early (i.e. about half an hour), we were turned away or told we could sit outside (super cold!). I was surprised that the lead waitress made no efforts to get us to sit, have a drink and then offer to move us later. Mind you, when we arrived, the whole middle section of the long table was empty! We could have probably added on another $40 to our total bill because we would have sat for a drink. In both placing our orders and getting the bill, our table of 3 had to furiously flag down a staff to get their attention and after giving up waiting for the EFTPOS machine to come to our table, we just got up and left.
The positives were the cocktails and the great playlist they had on.
Whilst we enjoyed the food, the overall experience was not good. The wait staff seemed disorganised, as we had multiple people coming to our table to ask if we were alright, without anybody bringing water or a menu or asking to take our order. The wait to actually take our order was very long, and it was very difficult to call over a waiter to ask to take our order. Same thing happened when trying to order desert, a waitress told us she’d be back shortly to take our order, 30 minutes of awkwardly waiting later and still no service, so we decided to wrap up our dinner early. Overall incredibly disappointed in the experience
Good food, service a little slow and generally a bit noisy.
Would recommend this to others. Fun night out.
The dumplings are always fresh, but sometimes a bit over cooked. The staff on the Sunday night walked past our table three times and we had dirty dishes in front of us before they finally come and asked if we wanted anything else. It was pretty poor really.
The door girl had a serious attitude and felt like we were a burden to her when we Let her know we were there.
Food was AMAZING, couldn’t fault. Would be nice to have an option to try one of all of the infusion dumplings. A share plate for two with two of each kind of the fancy ones
The food is a little pricey, sitting inside is very loud. Staff were working hard but I think that they could use some more training tbh. Overall it was a nice experience, but not super impressive.
Food was delicous. Two dishes were forgotten and we were in a rush so we asked that they leave them off the bill and that was fine.
Will come back when we have more time.
Food is absolutely amazing! I feel if you are sharing, the dumpling portions could be a little bigger. It was very busy as we attended on Saturday night, the service was a bit slow and it took 3 requests to obtain cutlery. I wouldn’t let that deter me from returning though as the staff are very friendly and the food is delicious
I enjoyed our dining experience here. The food was nice but it was also a bit pricey! Definitely come here for the experience, the venue is beautiful! It was a bit loud for a family night out but we still enjoyed it regardless!
It’s a nice place (with funky interior) but service is disappointing. Our food came out slow. One of our orders never made it out. One particular waitress kept coming to ask us what drink we wanted and each time we had to say “give us a couple minutes”. It got to the point my friend had to say “we’ll call you when we’ve decided”. Food was mainly delicious. Great concept mixing drinks and dumplings together.
Service was extremely slow got to restaurant at 8 for a booking with party of 6 ordered the chef selection and waited 1 hour for first dish to arrive once that arrived waited another 40 minutes for dumplings to arrive that were not as promised don’t recommend doing chefs selection not worth the $59pp price
Service could be slightly improved
service was very poor and slow, had to ask the waiters for items numerous times before we actually got them. Nice place but definitely very understaffed and need to be more attentive to customers. The food was good though.
The food was fantastic and the service really good, especially given how busy it was. Lovely wait staff and great food and ambience.
Bit disappointing. Dumplings were soggy and very oily - fell apart using chopsticks, however they were very tasty. Noisy and dark atmosphere but not off putting
Disinterested and slow service, plus the food was average
Delicious dumplings, my favourite was the speciality ones, cheeseburger was the best.
The price is a little high for how many you get, we would have ordered more otherwise.
Great flavors, interesting decor, yummy cocktails, friendly staff, cosy ambience inside amd outside
The courtyard is beautiful and it was nice to sit outside. Inside was too noisy. Do not rate the food at all, way too expensive for what you’re getting
super fun spot for a catch up! Love the range of dumplings :D
The menu is creative and tasty, and ambience beautiful. Service was also good. However, the food was overpriced and not very tasty. The glasses were also smelly.
Absolutely sensational - I would tell mates to go just to try the cheeseburger dumplings alone. Staff fantastic.
At $14 a smallish plate it’s not Chinatown, but you’re paying for quality and invention.
Food was fantastic. Lots if the staff speak english as a second language which made it a little hard to communicate, but they were lovely and it was a great experience!
Loved it so much going back Saturday with a different friend so we can try more!
The food is outstanding but the seating is so uncomfortable nd we needed the air-con I guess they want multiple turnovers!!
creative and fantastic. good for sharing. start with less and order more if still hungry as service is fast
Consistently excellent dumplings.
Tried the sweet dumplings for the first time this visit. The Apple crumble dumplings were divine. Actually mind blowing.
I find the bamboo straws a little unhygienic, and staff can at times be a little busy and distracted.
CHEESEBURGER DRUMPLING WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! OVERALL PLACE WAS FAST AND DELICIOUS. STAFF WERE KIND AND PROFESSIONAL. WILL BE BACK
We had the best time, the food was wonderful and it is soooo good to be able to have gluten free dumplings! Thank you.
This was my second visit it drumplings. The beef randang dumplings and the cheese burger dumplings are by far the best. The classic dumplings such as prawn and chive are chewy and the dumpling mixture seems gooey. I wouldn't return for the classic dumplings, but the fun flavours are worth a visit. The service is inattentive and SLOW! 20 minutes to recieve one drink from the fridge! It's a bit of a joke the lack of attentiveness. Cool interior, friendly staff - maybe more training is the answer to some of these negatives. Two visits is enough for myself, both times were the same, average over hyped dumplings with slow service.
We had an awesome dinner & drinks experience at Drumplings on the weekend! We had a ground of 8, and we chose to order almost all of the unique dumplings on the menu (and a few of the originals) which were all equally delicious! Topped off with some yummy cocktails, and great house beers - we all thoroughly enjoyed our night out at Drumplings - will definitely be back again soon for some more :)
Brilliant I couldn’t have asked for a better meal it was cheap and beautiful food
Great food. Great location.
Pity we couldn’t have the cheeseburger dumplings but hopefully next time.
Really hip low key place to enjoy good food at a reasonable price.
Delicious dumplings. Friendly staff. But background music way to loud. Staff couldnt her at me a lot had to keep repeating myself. But highly recommend them
Something a little different ... worth a try but hard to get waiter’s attention at times.
Delicious food with loads of variety and very well priced! This is the 3rd time I've brought a different group of friends here and will be back again soon! The staff are friendly and attentive and I can't fault this place. Thank you :)
