Drop Dead Gorgeous is frustrating because it is so good and yet so far from great. The vibe, servers, bartenders, and decor were all amazing. The decor might be the best in downtown Tempe. I could have sat there enjoying the ambiance all night long. However, the drinks themselves were a huge disappointment. I got the Smokey Sour. The first two ingredients were mezcal and scotch. I kid you not, this drink tasted like a screwdriver hold the vodka. Not a hint of smoke, sour, or either of the two very distinct liquors listed. While I had my glass of juice, my partner got their take on a black manhattan, which credit due, was a very ambitious take on the drink. The unique ingredient, black sesame orgeat, completely overwhelmed this “liquor forward” drink with savory and sweet. The grey grainy suspension of black sesame and soggy rice puff garnish also gave an unappealing presentation. With some attention to the drinks this bar could be seriously excellent, but for now, I don’t believe they will get much repeat business from cocktail lovers. I am rooting for DDG though! I’d happily be back with a better drink.

Great atmosphere, friendly service, variety of craft cocktails. We did not eat here but review required a rating, based rating on small bites selection. We moved next door to Filthy Animal for dinner.

had a reservation at 945 didn’t get in till 1015. food and drinks were good. service was absolutely terrible. waitress came by our table twice and we asked to get our check because we were ready to leave waited 15 minutes until we called her over and was very rude. seemed like they only cared about the bar or the tables in the front.

The music was great, and the ambiance was good. The music isnt so loud that you cant hear anyone else at your table. The drinks were good. But our service was really bad. It took so long for a server to come take our drink order, and then just as long to actually get our drinks. Not sure if it was just an off night but I would not go back because of the service alone.

Double thumbs down. The hostess dropped of 3 menu books for 4 people, apologized came back with another and said “you have 90 minutes” and then a server didn’t show up for 10 minutes. They were out of vodka at 8:45pm on a Saturday night. We tried to order different beverages and all of them were unavailable, finally we found a drink they had but it came from the restaurant bar and not this bar. Not the best experience.

I asked for a standard and I got a high top. I possibly think bc the younger crowd were there. Drinks not that great. The DJ, oh wow, couldn't understand any songs he played. Pretty disappointing.
