The food was excellent, it did not disappoint! Our waiter was amazing.
I had asparagus bisque with bits of crab meat - very delicious! I had the pork Milanese - it was so good that when I got to the end, I wanted to pick up the chop & eat it off the bone (I begrudgingly refrained from doing so). I can’t wait to go back in nicer weather & eat outside.
The wait staff was knowledgeable & attentive. Great experience!
Nice surprise with reasonably priced Jerseyshorerestaurantweek offerings. Everyone enjoyed the food. Some nice changes to the menu and desserts. Unfortunately will miss the old AMA which had great food and daily specials like wine flights and fix prixe. Hopefully they will bring some of them with the new menu.
Chose the Drifthouse during the Jersey Shore restaurant week and were pleasantly impressed. The food was creative and delicious. Our waiter, Jeffery, was cordial, helpful and attentive. The Rose Sangria was thirst quenching and tasty. Of course, being able to look out to the ocean made for a enhanced experience. Put this on your list.
Great food and service as always at David Burke restaurants. It was so loud inside that we were almost yelling at our table so we could hear each other. Major design flaw in the restaurant. I would go back but try for a late lunch perhaps to see if quieter. We were there for restaurant week and it was still expensive. That being said everything we had was delicious and perfectly cooked.
everything was excellent except the noise which was barely tolerable.
We went for restaurant week, birthday dinner. It was amazing. Staff was great.
My husband and I went to DRIFTHOUSE to celebrate our anniversary. We had been to AMA many times and enjoyed it and were looking forward to trying DRIFTHOUSE. We sat down and it took a while for our waiter to come over. While looking over the menu we asked if there were any specials and the waiter said “everything on the menu is special.” We ordered and our appetizer came. We had small bread plates and started to eat our appetizer on these plates and then someone brought us appetizer plates. We realized at that time we didn’t get bread and confirmed this with the couple next to us. We asked our waiter and he said “Oh I was just going to get it.” We said forget the bread since we already ate our appetizers. While waiting for our entrees we overheard our waiter offer specials to the table next to us. My husband asked the waiter about this and he said the chef just added them. First of all it was 9pm, are specials added this late? Secondly, the special was a type of soup that would need to cook for hours, so obviously it couldn’t just be added on. This is where it really went downhill. We got our entrees and were eating them. Our waiter never came over to ask how everything is or if we needed anything. He never gen topped offf our wine glasses. The maitre d came over and asked how we were enjoying everything and we asked her to sit down so we could explain what had happened. Her response was more than disappointing. She said “we’re only open for 2months and we hope it will get better.” After that she brought us some type of appetizer which was not good. When we finished our meals, our plates were cleared and our waiter didn’t even speak to us. He set down the dessert menu and that’s it. Needless to say we didn’t have coffee or dessert since we were so disappointed.
For us the expectation for an upscale dining experience is not only great food but great service. It’s a shame that this happened to such a great restaurant. We would never return to DRIFTHOUSE.
The food was excellent. Good portions. Our server Nico was very attentive. The only downside for us was the noise level. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, surrounded by large noisy groups. It was difficult to engage in conversation. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves.
Creative items on the menu. Bread is served hot from the toaster with your choice of either butter or olive oil. I was disappointed with my salmon dinner meal because it was not hot but merely room temperature. It had all the right ingredients but not so tasty since it was cold.
Great experience all around.
Perfect in every way.....why read this get in your car and go Now! Your missing out on the best.
Great job DB crew!
Can't wait to go and bring new friends....
The restaurant used to be AMA and the decor is beautiful and has not changed. Beautiful ocean view. Service was not great. Had to ask for water and server did not pour our wine. Had to ask for ice bucket and server had trouble opening wine. My wife ordered salmon and asked that it be cooked rare. It was raw and she ordered pork Milanese. The pork tasted bland. I ordered chicken. The chicken was moist and flavorful. For dessert, we had creme brulet. It was okay. We also ordered lollipop cheesecake.
I don't feel this restaurant is a good value. Due to not great service and not great food. I would go back
Excellent food. Good service. Nice wine list. Definitely a must visit.
Very pleased David Burke is back at the shore! The menu is exciting and food was delicious, the view was beautiful, and the service was great! We enjoyed everything thoroughly!
From the food, to the service, ambiance, etc - everything was superb 👌🏼 definitely going back.
Food was outstanding and service was excellent. Our server was Karen and she was delightful and very knowledgeable about both food and wine. We also had the opportunity to chat with Chef David Burke who worked the room and made everyone feel special! I can’t wait to go back!
We chose to come here for my birthday. The night started off great because of Monica the bartender. She was friendly, quick and attentive. She also poured a great drink. We sat on time and our water glasses were filled quickly. After that it all went south........ it took quite awhile
To get our bread and give our drink orders. The waiter was definitely friendly but not attentive at all. Water was never refilled and when we asked it took a long time. We were 4
People and we all had appetizers. The Maple Bacon and Pastrami Salmon were excellent. The salads were nothing special. I had bronzino which was nice but not hot at all. The angry broccoli was also cold. My husband had a rib eye which was not so great and our friend had the squid ink linguini and liked it very much. In this
Time period I ordered another glass of wine and 15 minutes later the waiter asked if I was ready for a drink..........
I would give it another shot for burger night. I travel frequently and eat all over. I don’t mind paying high prices but everything has to be right.......
Disappointing...We loved Ama and were excited for DB to open here. We did go during restaurant week and it seemed like the servers were frantic the whole night. Luckily, our server recognized us from Ama, so our service was very good. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed in the menu offering, and although our ribeye steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly, they were somewhat small and pricey (came with a nominal upcharge). Actually left the restaurant still hungry even though we had apps, entree and dessert.
Overall, with all the good restaurants around, we do not think this will make it to our top 10 list.
Went early on Saturday during restaurant week. Live David Burke during restaurant week. He sees this as an opportunity to welcome new customers and reward old and always offers a great, generous menu. I had the salmon pastrami and pork Milanese, both of which were delicious. BF had lobster dumplings and Salmon, which he enjoyed, but not as much as my food. Loved his creme brulee. That, and a lovely Rose and it was a great meal
Loved the Jersey Shore Restaurant Week menu!
The food and service was excellent. The filet mingon was delicious with David Burke’s special aging process. It was very juicy and tender at a medium well temperature. The steak didn’t have to be butterflyied and I highly recommend it. The view wasn’t the greatest but you go there for the food. It was well worth the trip.
It was ok.’ I have had better meals at other locations. They have been open 2.months maybe things will get better.
So glad the Burkes are back in Monmouth County. Great to see some of the staff is back too. Staff was friendly and professional. Recommendations were spot on and presentation was nicely done. Wife's salmon was terrific as was my pork. Happy to enjoy the lollipops again. Only thing missing were the pop overs and candy cotton. We will be back.
Went to Drifthouse on Jersey Shore Restaurant Week. Good selection of Apps/Mains and Desserts for the Price Fix menu. Everyone enjoyed their food, all courses. The service was very good, there were a few issues with the bill which management fixed promptly. Great view of the Ocean. Regular day prices are high but great value during restaurant week.
Perfect place for good food good service
What a difference. So much brighter and open. Fantastic menu, service, ambiance and views.
We loved it!
It was our first time since the name/owner change. When we got to the hostess station, she never looked up to acknowledge us, took a phone call, hung up, eventually, and still didn't look up. After about 30 more seconds, she finally looked up and started a brief conversation. My hubby and I didn't appreciate being totally ignored for at least 3 or 4 minutes. A nod would've at least made us feel like she actually cared that we were standing there. Then, another woman seated us in a side room that we didn't even knew existed. We were seated in a small room, the only ones there aside from a table of 12 that were celebrating a birthday, and had three small, loud children. I'd never sit in that particular room again, we both hated it, terrible ambiance. The large room with the bar is so much better. As to the food, it was excellent. Hubby's crab cake appetizer was delish, as was the Bronzino that he ordered for his entree. I had a chicken entree that was equally as good. We'll definitely go back, but will refuse to be seated in the smaller room, and hopefully the hostess will be a bit more pleasant.
Been here twice and both time the food was spot on! The price point is high but worth it. Everything was delicious and presentation was amusing and thoughtful. Will definitely return.
We had a great dinner and the service was excellent. We will be back soon
I love a good steak and a baked potato. But this restaurant does not serve baked potato. I will not return until baked potato is on the menu.
I would rate service as very good except our particular waiter was just okay. Everyone else was very friendly and very personable. I booked another reservation as we were leaving and with luck we’ll have a different waiter next time. Also the noise level was okay with the exception of one rude person a couple tables away. Again, the exception because otherwise it would have been fine.
Dined for Easter brunch, very good setup, with options from regular menu (clothesline bacon, bison shortrib and pasta, tuna tacos, cake pops) in addition to typical brunch options (omelet bar, carving station with ham and lamb, salads, etc.). Food was refreshed consistently throughout, quality was top notch.
For a David Burke experience, you expect much more.
Food tasted good but brunch display was always empty with look of leftovers.
Servers made the day and experience because they were pleasant. However, floor managers/managers were underwhelming and did not want to take responsibility for the problems above or that tongs left in chafing dishes almost burned a child next in line. If you are going to have a brunch, make sure someone is overseeing line and more. Do not respond to feedback and criticism with the fact it is the first time so that guests are your guinea pigs and yet get nothing in return. We are still are charged full price of buffet. Fact you cannot get it right the first time and we have to deal with that is laughable. Will not return.
Wonderful evening. I always seem to be seated near kitchen or bathroom or service stations when booking a reservation however I was accommodated to move to another table. Service was superb. Food delicious artistic and fun. Wall of windows beautiful and artwork and fireplace left me with surprise. Chef Burke made a pleasant dining visit. Nice place for a special occasion or foodie experience.
Excellent, food vg, service vg, atmosphere vg, You Have to Go
Excellent! David Burke brings his magical skills back to the Shore. The Clothes Line Bacon is a must? The bone-in Sirloin was incredible. Enjoy!!!
Best bacon ever
I must say we were disappointed. We were fans of the restaurant when it was Ama and felt it was worth the extra cost. Menu is now more limited (my daughter is a vegetarian and the only option was a salad) and portions are smaller, but the price tag is higher. We are unlikely to return.
