Lovely 2 course brunch.
We have been going to Drifthouse since it changed ownership from Ama on a regular basis and have always enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, this Saturday nights experience was so awful that we will not be back. We had an 8pm reservation and were not seated until 845 with no apology. We placed our order and ignored for another 20 minutes with no wine/appetizer or dinner in sight. By 9:20 we decided to cut our losses and go to another restaurant. There are a lot of people standing around talking but no one taking action. 4 people at the hostess stand but no one can figure out how to seat anyone at the numerous empty tables. After a 45 minute wait to be seated, you would thing that a manager or someone would look out for our table to at least ensure that our meals/drinks would get out on time. Really disappointing!
Horrible experience. Most of the menu was unavailable and the service was equally poor
Wanted to live this place but the food, service and ambiance was VERY mediocre. Most food was cold. Service was slow and noise was loud. I would not go back.
Wonderful meal, great service and great menu choices. Truly enjoyed our night out!
Had dinner on the Sunset Patio. Good food, service excellent and David Burke was also eating on the patio!!
Everything was excellent! Manager changed or table to me by the window, when he saw it was our Anniversary and sent over champagne! The waitstaff was excellent as was the food. Can’t wait to go back .
David Burke you should be ashamed of yourself. Upon arrival early for our 7:00, we took a seat at the bar. The bar tender was very friendly and outgoing. Unfortunately, I chose a drink called something like a watermelon Pisco. I asked if the watermelon in the drink was fresh watermelon or a watermelon syrup. He promptly said "fresh." Great! I love watermelon! After receiving the drink, which was a tiny glass filled with ice and filled with a liquid that was perfectly clear almost all the way to the bottom with a very slight tint of pink at the VERY bottom of the glass. I took a sip and it literally tasted like ice water! No alcohol, and definitely NO WATERMELON! Not even a tiny hint of watermelon flavor. For $13 I think? It's on me that I didn't say anything to the bartended. I should have, but he was so nice, I kept my mouth shut and drank a tasteless and pricey glass of nothing. We then had dinner. Silly me, I expected a quality meal at a David Burke restaurant with fine dining prices to match. First the bread. Four of the stalest dinner rolls you have ever tasted. Dry, tasteless, and hard like cardboard. Then the burrata and ASPARAGUS app and the lobster dumpling app comes out . The burrata "and asparagus" app had *ONE* 2 inch piece of asparagus stalk---not even from the top of an asparagus, just ONE tiny bottom piece of stalk thrown on this plate that is supposed to be a burrata and asparagus offering! The dough of the lobster dumplings was like MUSH. The expensive halibut entree was clearly FROZEN halibut, as there is always a very discernible difference in taste, look, and texture between fresh and frozen with any fish, but particularly halibut! FROZEN halibut should NOT be served in a fine dining restaurant and certainly not for $40!!! And lastly, the delicious cheesecake tree we once had at a DB restaurant in NY, now has "pops" on it that are SO tiny, you taste mostly the STICK in your mouth! SO TINY they were a joke.
For a David Burke establishment, it was overall disappointing. Especially since the famously named establishment wouldn’t even accept their own named gift card.
Meals were either under cooked (ordered salmon well and it was rare/raw. Scallops ordered well were burnt.
The artichoke salad was curiously tasteless yet sour. The fish was adequately prepared, served with nothing but a teaspoon of two garnnishes. The food is overpriced for its preparation and presentation.
Beautiful room. Great service. Food was good. A little hit or miss on the seafood with some tastier than others. Apps were a win!
For the price point the service was off 45 minutes for dessert to be served. The meals were good but not memorable and the service was not attentive. Many other choices near by with more attentive service and memorable food.
We had a reservation at 8pm and we arrived a few minutes early, we were told our table was being cleared and we would be sat in 2 minutes. The hostess station had 3 people at it, and all were so discombobulated and talking over each other. So we stepped to the side to let other people check in with the hostess. And before we knew it, another hostess had sat another couple at our table. They did ask that couple to get up, they did not apologize to us, they told us their is a table that just sat, so we would have wait for that one. Which was crazy! Then they offered us a four top in the side room, which had 3 huge party tables and the acoustics were terrible, that we could not hear across the table. They rushed us to order, kept trying to take our plates before we were done with our apps, did the same with dinner (which came out luke warm), they forgot to bring us our last round of drinks. One of the waiters for the another table stood right on top of us ( enough to feel the heat from the torch)while firing the bacon strips. My date and I were in the middle of trying to have a conversation, when one of the hostess, did NOT even say excuse me or sorry to bother you, interrupted us and was like we need this chair, and grabbed it from our table. The whole experience was horrific, and we were not offered an apology let alone a round of drinks or even a dessert! I will NEVER go back to this restaurant again, and I have told my friends and family to do the same!
Very good dinner. Extremely loud. Was put in the small room with another big table. Bartender mixed up the drinks and my dad (who can't have alcohol) got the vodka and tonic when he ordered seltzer. Very long dinner, took there almost 3 hours. Overall, dinner was delicious. We would come back but maybe on off season.
Setting was great views of ocean and river beautiful sunset
Very busy summer Saturday
Waiter was hustling support staff under trained
The location was so good drinks well prepared and we were in no hurry so worked fine
Raw bar items wonderful deserts great entree solid
Will be back off season
Disappointed with food and service was awful, brought wrong wine and then charged us for 2 bottles. Had to ask for bread, no water refill. Not fine dining.
food and service were on point. amazing views of ocean and river
Everything was delicious
Very nice restaurant with great view of the water! We went on Tuesday which is burger night n the burgers were great n the PEI mussels n salmon were great! Would highly recommend!
Very consistent food...great location with views of the Atlantic
Fish not prepared properly and the squid ink pasta was watery.
Overall, I was disappointed. The restaurant was very loud and the food was ok at best. The restaurant was definitely busy and the service was good, but slow. Not the fault at all of the waitress. She was the only one working a very busy room. When she did get to us, she was polite and very nice. While I might give this restaurant a second chance, I am not going to rush back.
Great meal. Only complaint was that I had to wait for my wine which I wanted to enjoy "with" my meal so my entrée was getting cold. Granted it was a Saturday night and very busy, but......
The food is delicious and the view of the ocean spectacular! The service was friendly and professional and we enjoyed our meal and dining experience tremendously! We highly recommend this restaurant and the general manager Alexander is warm and courteous! Love it!!! 👍❤️- Pat Miller
Menu was average at best, service average. Food was less than average. Bay view was great, ocean view was obstructed by pool club. Would not return, would rather try some place new.
Great food and service tonight. Sat outside, glad we did. Pricey but worth it for special occasions.
Was expecting a higher quality. The reputation of the chef led me to believe that this restaurant would have higher standards for food preparation. Was just average for a shore restaurant. Must of which need improvement.
This is our second time. The first time we sat in the main room and everything was wonderful. This time we were put into the side room that was like being in an incredibly loud cave. I had the same entree but could not enjoy it at all. It was a terrible experience. I would come back to the restaurant but if seated in that side room, i would refuse the seating and leave.
Need more Gluten Free items. Bread and dessert. We were there for Birthday and no acknowledgment. Why do you ask what the occasion is if it goes Unnoticed. Salmon was excellent. We mentioned to dine outside and once we arrived it was noted and were brought to a table inside and when I asked they said they had other people in front and it would take hours. The girl said she would check and get back to us and never did. Unacceptable behavior for a high-end restaurant. Will try it again maybe for lunch and the noise was way too loud to enjoy the experience maybe work on the soft music something you got patrons in there yelling at tables thank you
Overall restr. was great, service was very good but a little on the expensive side.
This restaurant is very big!, so expect to be waiting a lot, but staff was very kind and helpful. The crowd was a bit rowdy for a 6:30 dinner, not what I was expecting of a classy restaurant. I'd recommend the main dining area by the bar or outside, it seemed quieter there. We were in a separate, side room that was extremely loud.
Great meal with terrific waiter Michael. Nice ambience outside. Food was excellent. But go early before they run out of the specials.
Enjoyed a fabulous dining experience for our anniversary.. service was outstanding... menu was extensive... food was fresh, delicious and on point. Indoor and outdoor dining opportunity... inside was “shore” elegant.. I will definitely make DRIFTHOUSE one of my annual stops
view, service, food, food, food just fantastic. thank you
Loved it very much!!!!! Great service and wonderful night to be outside!!!
The past three times I've gone to DRIFTHOUSE, the experience has been exactly the same: very good food, very good ambiance, very poor service. Sometimes it's the waiter's fault (they're short staffed) but more often it's the wait for a table. Three times in a row I've waited more than 30 minutes past my reservation time and Saturday it was 45 minutes. They were apologetic but no one suggested we have a round at the bar on the house or anything that would have required the house to lose money.
Good food. Excellent desserts. A bit noisy but that adds to the ambiance. Good service but pricey.
Crazy busy. Food was good not great. One thing that was great were the hipster fries. We live about hour to hour 15 min. away and probably would not make the trip again. If I was in the area I would definitely go back for the fries and sit at the bar. We had the clothesline bacon and lobster dumplings. The bacon is all about the presentation and the lobster dumpling were all about nothing. No flavor at all.
All in all we had a good time and ate. Like I said good but not great.
